‘I Can’t Walk Next to Her and Looking Like I Was Looking’: Steve Harvey Praises Wife Marjorie for Making Him Ditch His Oversized Suits

News - Sat, 07/05/2025 - 21:30

Steve Harvey gets a lot of praise for having good taste in the well-tailored suits he often wears. But the “Family Feud” host says the credit should be directed toward his wife, Marjorie Harvey.

On June 28, Harvey uploaded a collaboration advertisement post to Instagram with luxury menswear brand AMIRI. In the video, which Harvey starred in, he opened up about his attraction to the brand and how Marjorie upped his fashion game.

“I’ve been to Paris, I can’t tell you how many times, because it’s my wife’s favorite city,” he said at the start of the clip. “And she’s always loved fashion, but Marjorie has been the catalyst for all of the changes I’ve made.”

While Harvey praises Marjorie in a voiceover, the video captures him suiting up in a black and bejeweled AMIRI suit to attend the AMIRI Spring-Summer 2026 Runway Show.

Harvey joined Marjorie, who looked stunning in a burnt orange satin dress, as they walked hand in hand before later arriving to the show. But “The Steve Harvey Morning Show” host wasn’t done talking about his wife in the video.

“I can’t walk next to her and looking like I was looking. Pretty much my wife jumped it off,” he said.

Fans commented under the Instagram video, praising the Harveys for their display of wealth and love.

One person said, “Alright Steve & Marjorie!! You better let’em know!!”

Another commented, “What a great woman can do for the man she loves when he loves her back.”

“You and your wife are such a great couple and example of what love and wealth looks like. Enjoy every moment and cheers to you!” said a third person.

The “Family Feud” host is known for his iconic suits. Between the late 1990s and early 2000s, Harvey sported a low tapered afro and wore oversized suits in his comedy specials and even on his sitcom “The Steve Harvey Show.”

At that time, the suits featured a boxy fit with wide leg pants. At the time, Harvey’s suits featured a boxy fit with wide-leg pants. While his looks were often bold — showcasing colorful tones and striking patterns — the popular suit styles of that era leaned toward more muted colors. His fashion choices made him stand out from the crowd.

However, Marjorie was not a fan. After getting married in 2007 and blending their families and seven children, Steve ditched the loose-fitting suits and opted for a more tight-fit look.

In a 2021 interview with GQ magazine, he shared what Marjorie’s reaction was when she had finally had enough of Harvey’s big suits.

“That’s the crazy part about it, because my wife is my biggest critic and my biggest fan. And she stopped me from wearing the big long suits a long time ago,” he explained.

“She said, “Steve, can I talk to you?” She said, “I’m tired of being married to a pimp.” And I went, “What?” I was stunned, because you married me and that’s all I had was big suits. She said, “Yeah, but I was going to change you anyway.”

Marjorie is a former stylist who introduced her husband to his current stylist Elly Karamoh. Karamoh has been working with the entire family since 2019 and occasionally styles Marjorie, her daughter Lori Harvey, and their sons.

Karamoh said he actually admired Harvey’s style especially for the colors and patterns.

In 2021, he told USA Today that he wanted to “bring back his colors, but in a very European silhouette.”

Fast-forward to present day, Harvey gets even more attention for his sharp attire now, and that’s all thanks to his wife and his stylist.

Speaking of Karamoh, he had a major hand with getting Harvey involved with AMIRI. In the advertising video, Harvey said, “My stylist, he introduced me to AMIRI, and I thought it was so dope, you know. They had a look that I was attracted to, and that’s how I got drawn to him,” he said.

Harvey ended the video with high remarks about the brand’s founder, Mike Amiri. He said, “I want to see what he’s got coming because the style is so me, you know. It’s like a throwback. I think he’s going to be really, really top notch in the game. I think this year, man, gon’ really put him out there.”

The AMIRI fashion show, attended by the Harveys and Karamoh, took place in Paris on June 26. While there, the couple also celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary.

‘This Is Trump’s America’: White Florida Waste Management Employees Berated Black Workers with Racial Slurs and the Company Let Them Get Away with It, But Now, It Has to Pay Them

News - Sat, 07/05/2025 - 21:19

A waste management company in Florida agreed to pay $1.4 million to settle a federal race and national origin discrimination lawsuit on behalf of 26 Black and Haitian workers who claimed their co-workers regularly harassed and directed racial slurs at them, conduct unchecked by supervisors who often assigned them the most difficult tasks and inferior equipment.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) sued Waste Pro of Florida in U.S. District Court in Jacksonville in September 2023 after receiving a complaint from Fednol Pierre, a Black Haitian welder who worked at the company’s Jacksonville location.

Pierre reported to the EEOC that another welder, William Watts, began harassing him soon after he transferred to the Jacksonville facility in October 2021, and frequently subjected him to the “N-word” and other derogatory slurs including, “There is no need for you here,” “Go back to Haiti N*gger,” “This is Trump country,” and “go back to Haiti on the banana boat.”

He also alleged that a co-worker Mr. Shuman regularly called him the “N-word.”

Pierre reported the slurs regarding his race and Haitian heritage to multiple supervisors at Waste Pro, but no corrective or disciplinary actions were taken, despite some of the derogatory comments being overheard by other co-workers and managers, the complaint alleged.

During an investigation by the human resources department in March 2022, a regional manager disclosed to Watts that Pierre had made a racial discrimination complaint against him and Shuman, despite Pierre’s request to remain anonymous, the lawsuit said.

Fearing retaliation, Pierre asked to be transferred to a later shift, even though that meant he would lose work hours and pay as a result. Even so, he still had to work with Watts and Shuman for an hour each day.

After that, and just before a scheduled anti-harassment training for maintenance staff, Pierre and another Black employee discovered a stuffed monkey holding an American flag in Pierre’s work area. He reported it to management and demanded the monkey be immediately removed, but no action was taken for several hours, and the monkey remained in a location where all employees could see it, the complaint says.

Following his discrimination complaints, Watts and Shuman retaliated against Pierre, he claims, by refusing to communicate with him about auto repairs, leaving him with the most difficult welding tasks to complete at night, and locking the best welding equipment in their personal lockers so he could not access it.

After two more weeks went by with no corrective measures stemming from the harassment, Pierre resigned on May 12, 2022, telling his manager that he was quitting because he could no longer work with the men who continued to harass and mistreat him and because no action had been taken in response to the monkey incident.

The lawsuit claimed that Waste Pro subjected Pierre and a class of Black and/or Haitian-American employees at its Jacksonville location to a hostile work environment based on their race, color, or national origin.

Managers were aware of and condoned the inflammatory language and ongoing racial harassment of Black and Haitian-American employees, which was committed openly and at times in their presence, the EEOC argued.

Managers purposefully assigned Black and Haitian workers more difficult repair work and provided them with inferior equipment and tools, and delegated Black drivers to less desirable routes and provided them with inferior vehicles, the lawsuit claimed.

Some supervisors of drivers made racial comments to workers about their skin color, such as one manager who allegedly said, “It’s awful dark in here,” referring to the presence of his Black subordinates.

Meanwhile, white employees were often given more leniency in the enforcement of company policies and were generally treated more favorably, the lawsuit claimed.

Waste Pro’s Jacksonville division manager, Tim Williams, allegedly objected to hiring a female dispatcher because she was Black, and told a Black male supervisor he had “Billy Idol lips,” the complaint said.

Besides seeking a jury trial to determine monetary compensation for Pierre and the class of about two dozen aggrieved Black and Haitian-American employees to make them whole after suffering pecuniary losses, pain and suffering, the EEOC asked for a permanent injunction enjoining Waste Pro from participating in discriminatory conduct, permitting a hostile work environment and/or retaliating against employees.

It also sought an order to force the company to institute and carry out policies and practices to provide equal employment opportunities for Black and Haitian-American employees and to eradicate the effects of its past and present unlawful employment practices.

In its answer filed in October 2023, Waste Pro denied most of the allegations of discrimination, retaliation and hostile work environment in the complaint, claiming that it had “exercised reasonable care to prevent and promptly correct any harassing or discriminatory behavior” in its workplace.

The company also claimed that all employment decisions it made were based on legitimate, nondiscriminatory and reasonable factors not related to race or national origin.

Waste Pro noted that it already had an explicit policy against harassment in the workplace, conducted trainings and other remedial measures to prevent harassment, and argued that it had provided employees a reasonable process to complain about alleged harassment.

Waste Pro further asserted that the EEOC did not engage in good faith conciliation efforts prior to Pierre filing his lawsuit, had refused to provide information about the alleged class of harmed individuals, and had presented Waste Pro with a “take it or leave it” offer that demanded damages “that seemed to far exceed any harm suffered by” Pierre or the other Black and Haitian workers.

After another year of litigation, the basic terms of the agreement were hashed out in a settlement hearing in October 2024, and a jointly proposed, amended consent decree agreement was submitted by both parties to the court for review.

In her order issued on June 5, U.S. District Court Judge Wendy W. Berger approved some of the proposed terms and denied others, ruling that the consent decree should last for three years or until any disputes regarding compliance are resolved.

The final consent decree requires Waste Pro to pay $1.4 million in monetary relief to Pierre and the other Black and Haitian-American class members employed at the company from February 2021 to December 2023. The amount of compensation each person receives will be based on the severity and duration of the harassing conduct alleged and the alleged emotional harm they suffered, to be determined by the EEOC.

The company’s officers and managers are barred from subjecting Black or Haitian-American employees to racial epithets, racial slurs, threatening or intimidating behavior, and physical violence, and from denying Black employees the use of facilities, trucks, tools, truck routes and resources on the basis of their race, color or national origin.

The decree requires Waste Pro to conduct exit interviews and to draft a written seniority system for the assignment of trucks and routes on a race-neutral basis, as well as to establish a statewide discrimination complaint tracking system.

Waste Pro must hire a compliance officer approved by the EEOC to oversee and investigate the company’s compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws; review and revise its existing EEO policies and procedures for handling complaints of discrimination, harassment and retaliation; conduct annual training on anti-harassment policies with all non-supervisory employees in Florida; and provide specialized training on race discrimination to its CEO Sean Jennings, COO Keith Banasiak, and other top management and human resources employees to make sure they are aware of their obligations to prevent workplace discrimination and how to address complaints in a neutral manner.

The decree also requires Waste Pro to submit written reports twice a year to the EEOC certifying that employees completed all trainings; that any complaints of race-based harassment were promptly addressed and investigated within six months; and submit a report from the compliance officer tallying the number of race discrimination complaints, the results of any investigations and any remedial actions taken by the company, and how each step taken aligns with its newly adopted employment policies.

“This case underscores the urgent need for EEOC’s ongoing efforts to eliminate racism in the waste management industry,” said EEOC Miami Regional Attorney Kristen M. Foslid in a statement. “The EEOC will continue to use all its tools — including vigorous enforcement and litigation where necessary — to confront employers who tolerate race discrimination in their workplaces and hold them accountable.”

Tracy Meehan, Waste Pro’s corporate communications director, said in an emailed statement to Wastedive.com that the company has “always been committed to fostering a productive and healthy work environment for its employees that is free of harassment and discrimination” and has already implemented changes to its manager training program and its communications to employees about company anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies.

“This case stems from events alleged to have occurred in 2022, and while Waste Pro did not find evidence of intentional wrongdoing, a settlement was reached to avoid lengthy litigation and refocus on our commitment to our employees and the people we serve,” Meehan said.

‘Make Her Stop’: Jennifer Lopez Slammed Over James Brown Impersonation During Old Clip, Fans Call It ‘Cringe’

News - Sat, 07/05/2025 - 17:29

Jennifer Lopez can’t escape public criticism lately.

A resurfaced clip of the Latin singer’s concert performances has fans saying she’s trying too hard for “attention.” In the short video, Lopez took a lively break from her set for a fun jam session with her band and background singers, breaking into James Brown’s “Super Bad.”

J.Lo can be seen throwing her hair and grunting out the lyrics as she fully tapped into the spirit of funk from the Godfather of Soul. She yelled “Watch me!” twice as the background singers sang “She got it” in between, similar to Brown’s song.

In her best soulful tone, Lopez sang “I got soul and I’m super bad” with her background singers echoing the same lyrics.

The footage, originally taken during her 2019 It’s My Party Tour, was recently posted on by The Neighborhood Talk on Instagram, where critics flooded the comments section, claiming Lopez “is addicted to the fame and attention.”

One person said, “I like Jlo but she is trying too hard no.”

Another wrote, “She’s so good… when she’s not on the stage.”

“She wants attention so bad there is absolutely no reason for her to be out here performing. She don’t even have a strong enough catalog with her own vocals,” someone else gibed.

A few even said her performance was “cringe” to watch. The harsh critique echoes a growing sentiment online, where Lopez’s live performances have sparked debate not just about her vocals, but also about whether she still has a place in today’s music landscape.

“People keep begging RiRi to drop and album but here’s J.Lo who you can’t make her stop,” said another.

Much of the scrutiny has intensified amid headlines about her personal life. Lopez has been making waves for months following the finalization of her fourth divorce.

Over the years, the “Enough” actress has endured a series of high-profile relationships and marriages—some brief, others more drawn out. Lopez was married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998 before getting into a short-lived relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs. After that ended in 2001, she married Cris Judd, a union that ended after 10 months, when she filed for divorce in 2002.

Lopez then began dating actor Ben Affleck in 2003. The pair got engaged but broke up by January 2004. She went on to marry Marc Anthony in 2004 and they split in 2011.

Later that same year, she became romantically involved with choreographer Casper Smart. The two were on and off before going their separate ways in 2016. Next, Lopez began dating MLB star Alex Rodriguez in 2017. They also got engaged about two years later, but called it off in 2021. Shortly afterward — in that same year — she and Affleck gave their love another shot. They got engaged in 2022 and married the same year. By January 2025 they were divorced.

But, according to the “Accountant 2” star, there was no malicious reason for the split.

In March, Affleck told GQ, “Yeah, there’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue. The truth is, when you talk to somebody, ‘Hey, what happened?’ Well, there is no: ‘This is what happened.’ It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do. And as you get older, this is true for me, I assume it’s true for most people, there is no ‘So-and-so did this’ or ‘This was the big event.’

‘Do You Think I’d Be Out Here In My Pajamas If This Was Normal?’: Furious Las Vegas Mom Says Cops Ignored Her Pleas to Search House Where Her Son Was Later Found Dead In Pool—12 Hours Too Late

News - Sat, 07/05/2025 - 17:00

A Las Vegas mother is mourning the loss of her son in what appears to be a pool drowning last month that she believes could have turned out differently if police had taken her emergency calls seriously.

TayShaun Todd was excited to be attending the second adult party of his life in June when the unthinkable happened. He never returned home, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

His mother called police on June 17 to report him missing when she learned the party was shut down by police, but Todd had not returned home.

TayShaun Todd’s body was discovered in a Las Vegas pool on June 18, 2025. (Photos: Facebook/Christina Dunn)

Christina Todd-Dunn said it took several calls “begging” and “pleading” before officers went to the home to check. They did not find her son that day.

However, the next day, a man in the home called 911 after discovering a body in the pool, where the coroner said he had been for at least 12 hours.

“The part that is so upsetting to me is, if the police would have got there and came when I asked them to, they could have gotten him out. He could still be alive right now,” Todd-Dunn told the Review-Journal.

“Police officers failed me,” she added.

Todd-Dunn went to the house herself after Todd’s friend left the party with her son’s keys, wallet and cellphone and alerted her family. She says she called the police on the way. The man who answered the door said everyone had left the party, and he asked her to leave, too.

She said when police finally did arrive at the home hours later, they didn’t do a thorough search; instead, they asked her demeaning questions about her son, such as whether he was drinking or doing drugs.

Todd-Dunn says she tried to convince officers that her son wasn’t drinking or on drugs and that it wasn’t normal for him to be missing like he was.

“Do you really think I’d be out here in my pajamas looking for him if I thought that was the norm?” Todd-Dunn told the Review-Journal. “I could have rolled back over and went to sleep, like, ‘Oh, he’ll turn up.’ But I knew something had to be wrong, because that’s not him.”

TayShaun Todd was a student at the College of Southern Nevada, where he studied sports management and was preparing to start a teaching assistant job at a school in Henderson County, Nevada, in August.

Then, at 12:30 p.m. the following day, on June 18, police took an emergency call from a man who said police had searched his home the previous night, but it wasn’t until the next morning that he saw the body at the bottom of the pool.

“I feel like the police officers failed me. They failed my son. Y’all should have done a full search if it was a pool party and I’m saying he didn’t come up out of here. Y’all should have turned the house upside down to find him,” she said.

Todd-Dunn says the loss of her son has been hard on her and everyone who knew him. She says she can hardly eat or sleep.

“‘Everybody is taking it extremely hard,” she told the newspaper.

In the latest development in the case, a suspect has been charged with two misdemeanor crimes for hosting the illegal party where Todd died, according to the Review-Journal.

‘Are You Good?’: Man Taunts and Chokes Another Passenger on Frontier Flight and Learns the Hard Way

News - Sat, 07/05/2025 - 14:45

A man who was taunted and then choked by a stranger sitting behind him on a Frontier Airlines flight is speaking out about the terrible ordeal, an experience he said “changed everything in my life overnight.”

The fight was caught on video from multiple angles by fellow passengers, and several edited clips made headline news. But victim Keanu Evans said the initial reporting has been misleading, and despite the police stating the attack was “unprovoked,” he is still facing an onslaught of “racist comments and hate speech.”

Keanu Evans speaks about a viral fight he was involved in on July 3, 2025. (Photos: TikTok/Keanu Evans, X/OnlyInDade)

Among the critics are some who called out Evans for defending himself. “People are saying if I’m a man of God, why didn’t I use my words?” he revealed in a July 3 video posted on his TikTok account to set the record straight. “What would you do if you were in a confined space in an aircraft and another stranger you don’t know stands up and starts to choke you? I defended myself. I did what any rational person would do.”

He continued, “The only thing that upsets me is that these news outlets are reporting false narratives, and everybody is starting to run with it and believe it.”

Events unfolded on July 1 as the flight was coming into Miami International Airport.

Evans was relaxing in his seat with his headphones on when he heard “villainous laughter” that was loud enough to cut through his music. After his seatmates shot him several concerned looks, he turned to ask the man, “Are you good?” That’s when alleged attacker Ishaan Sharma, a 21-year-old from New Jersey, lit into him, calling him “puny” and “weak,” and making death threats, stated Evans.

Shocked, Evans went to the restroom and informed the flight attendants, who told him they were aware of the situation and instructed him to press the call button if things escalated. As soon as Evans returned to his seat, Sharma started back up with the “disturbed” comments and threats, Evans claimed. After pressing the call button, he turned to ask Sharma, “Yo, what’s your problem?”

“He immediately put his forehead on my forehead, face to face, and he grabs me with both of his hands and he starts to choke me,” he recounted.

Sharma was arrested and charged with battery. He is facing a $500 bond, according to jail records, and suffered a black eye and multiple cuts to his face. As the saying goes, you reap what you sow, but Evans expressed that he is “genuinely concerned” for Sharma’s mental state. “I pray that that man gets the help that he needs because that is not OK.”

Evan’s retelling of the incident has garnered more than 6,000 comments, with the vast majority of them supporting his decision to defend himself.

“The aggressor was arrested. Why is there any other narrative at all?” asked one person. “I guess people are judging you because you kicked the other guys a**,” wrote another.

“Good that’s what he gets for instigating,” wrote a supporter on the official Instagram account of the New York Post. But some question how things could have spun out of control so quickly in the first place. “Remember just after 9/11 when you were afraid to even fart in a plane for fear of an air marshal snapping your spine?”

Today, only 6 percent of U.S. flights have air marshals on board, per The New York Times. Meanwhile, there has been a spike in threatening or violent behavior during passenger flights since 2021, according to data from the FAA. Unruly passengers can now face fines up to $37,000 and be prosecuted on criminal charges.

‘Run Away, Young Lady!’: Barron Trump’s Love Life Under Fire Again as Critics Warn His Alleged New Girlfriend About Joining Trump’s Family

News - Sat, 07/05/2025 - 14:38

Talk about President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump’s son, Barron Trump, being romantically involved with a mystery woman has spiraled over the last few weeks.

Barron 19, just completed his freshman year at New York University. A supposed friend of the teenager is sharing some information about the love life of Donald’s youngest child.

Despite speculation, the Secret Service reportedly does not prevent Barron Trump from having a normal dating life. A purported source told People magazine, “He can have a girlfriend, as the Secret Service guys are well-versed on how to handle this.”

They continued, “Anyone who says being under Secret Service protection would keep him from dating is way off.”

News of Barron’s apparent private relationship was met with mostly ridicule online by dozens of Daily Mail readers, who voiced their opinions in the comment section with critics warning her, “Run away, young lady!”

“And we all know she only likes him cause… money,” expressed a second person in the British tabloid’s comment section.

A third commenter warned, “Don’t take her home when dad’s there, otherwise he will be crawling all over her!!!”

Social media users also had negative reactions to allegations that Barron has chosen a romantic partner during his first year in college.

“Poor girl. I hope she comes to her senses,” someone wrote on Instagram. Another harsh comment read, “She can’t be nice wanting to join that rancid family.”

Barron did get some backup on the platform as one person said, “Please leave him alone. There is good reason why Melania is very protective of her son as is Donald. He seems a lovely young man. Be kind x.”

In October 2024, Trump discussed Barron’s dating experience while appearing on Patrick Bet-David’s “PBD Podcast,” just weeks before the 2024 presidential election.

“I don’t think he’s had a girlfriend yet,” Trump, 78, told Bet-David about his then-18-year-old son when the podcaster probed whether Barron is “good with the ladies” at NYU.

Barron was born in New York and resided in the Trump Tower with his parents for the early part of his life. He also lived in the White House part-time during his father’s first term as president from 2017 to 2021.

According to his mother, Barron chose to make the move back to New York City for his undergraduate studies at the Manhattan-based university.

“It was his decision to come here, that he wants to be in New York and study in New York and live in his home, and I respect that,” Melania, 55, explained to Fox News in September 2024.

By December 2024, reports claimed Barron was a “ladies man” who was “really popular” with the female New York University students.

An insider supposedly connected to the political scion told People, “He’s tall and handsome. A lot of people seem to think he’s pretty attractive — yes, even liberal people like him.”

Despite her coming up short in winning a new vehicle, fans still expected Kathy to return later to spin the Big Wheel as part of a three-person Showcase Showdown. However, only two players appeared on stage when “The Price Is Right” returned from a commercial break.

“We only have two Wheel spinners for the Showcase Showdown because our contestant, Kathy, had an emergency and she was unable to continue,” Carey, 67, told the audience.

The program’s longtime host resumed, “She’s not going to be able to continue. We’re going to have two spinners. Good luck to these two guys.” He added, “We hope Kathy is OK.”

A contestant named Tawab was victorious in the Showdown over his competitor, Brigit. According to TV Insider, the show eventually confirmed Kathy will still receive her prizes despite having to leave the program early.

“We are pleased to share that Kathy has been invited to return as a special member of our audience for a future show taping,” read a statement to the outlet from “The Price Is Right” production.

The statement continued, “We look forward to the opportunity to welcome her back and extend our sincere thanks to Kathy — and to all of our loyal viewers —for being such an incredible part of our television family.”

Following the unprecedented televised incident, “Price Is Right” watchers hoped online to discuss what happened to Kathy and the fallout from her untimely exit from the show.

A Facebook user wondered, “What was her problem?” That comment led to a reply that read, “They have never said why she quit!”

“I’ve never in the history of watching this show seen two contestants at the wheel. I hope it was just an upset stomach or something,” one person wrote on Reddit.

“I hope she recovered. Hoping we’ll get an update from her somewhere,” wrote one person on the internet forum.

Another concerned poster stated, “She had an emergency and couldn’t continue. Let’s respect her privacy and not speculate further, as it’s not our business knowing. If she wants people to know, then maybe she’ll pop up in the comments.”

Since its debut in 1956, “The Price Is Right” has become a prominent staple on American television. The more famous, current version of the show was revived in 1972.

Late TV legend Bob Barker, who passed in 2023 at the age of 99, hosted the program from its 1972 premiere until he retired in 2007. Carey took over the hosting gig in October of that same year.

The Cleveland-born comedian celebrated reaching 10,000 episodes in February 2025. Season 34 of “The Price Is Right” came to an end on June 27. New installments are expected to debut on CBS in fall 2025, with Carey returning as the master of ceremonies.

It is not clear whether Kathy will be brought back for season 35. She at least walked away from her shortened appearance on the penultimate episode of the latest season with $749 worth of workout equipment.

‘Is That a BBL on Her?’: Keke Wyatt’s Curvaceous New Look on Stage Leaves Fans So Distracted Her Vocals Take a Back Seat

News - Fri, 07/04/2025 - 21:30

When it comes to Keke Wyatt, two things have always stood out: her powerhouse vocals and her striking, voluptuous figure.

The R&B singer recently performed in Georgia at the City Winery Atlanta, flexing those strong and unique vocals But for some people her voice was overshadowed by her appearance during the performance after a clip from the June 30 show went viral online.

In the video shared on The Neighborhood Talk, the 45-year-old was seen performing her song “Nothing in This World” while wearing a long sleeved black crop top that was bedazzled with sequins. She paired that shirt with a pair of sleek, hip-hugging leather pants and heels, keeping the rest of her look simple as she belted out lyrics to what appeared to be a packed room.

Wyatt’s curvaceous figure was obvious in the tight fit, and some fans praised her for it.

One fan wrote, “KeKe Wyatt is beautiful and has always been a gifted and talented singer. Is that a BBL on her?

A second said, “It’s giving great vocals bad bbl.”

A third commented, “Love my girl but that bbl is wild.”

Someone else joked, “Keke said I have 11 kids, working on 12, I must sing for my supper and not care how I look doing it.”

It’s unclear whether Keke Wyatt has undergone a Brazilian butt lift, but some fans are convinced she’s had cosmetic enhancements over the years. In 2021, she shared a boomerang post on Instagram with celebrity surgeon Dr. Curves, captioning it, “Sometimes you deserve to treat yourself.”

While she didn’t specify what procedure—if any—she had done, Dr. Curves offers everything from buttocks and breast surgeries to full-body contouring, facial work, and even hair restoration.

Wyatt’s figure has fluctuated throughout the years, which could also be attributed to her multiple pregnancies.

In February 2024, she performed in Arkansas at the Simmons Banks Arena. Around that time, she had shaved her head and she looked more slender than she did at City Winery Atlanta.

Fans also speculated she may have removed her alleged BBL after seeing her at the Birthday Bash 2024: Ladies Edition in January. The concert was held in Jacksonville, Florida, with other performers like Keyshia Cole, Monica, and Tank.

Again Wyatt wore black leather pants and a black bedazzled shirt and her derrière looked about the same as it did in the February show.

Back in 2023, she was filming for her reality TV series “Keke Wyatt’s World” and she looked thicker in her backside region than she did at the Simmons Banks Arena performance. In one clip of the show, she is singing to her then infant son Ke’Zyah Jean Darring at City Winery Atlanta. The child was born with a rare genetic disorder called trisomy 13. While on stage, fans noticed her butt was looking extra plump, which fueled more BBL speculations.

She kept a similar body shape in 2022 when she had a performance in Georgia for Ebony Akira’s 40 Shades of Black Birthday Celebration. Akira is the owner of an Atlanta restaurant called Nouveau Bar & Grill and was able to get both Wyatt and Lil Mo to perform. Wyatt was again wearing a form-fitting sparkly outfit that showed off her curves at that show.

While it’s uncertain why the “My First Love” singer figure has changed throughout recent years, what is certain is her vocal quality has remained the same.

Wyatt’s next performance is slated for July 5 at the R&B Soul Experience in Virginia.

‘No Shame!’: Melania Trump Slammed for Tone-Deaf Appearance at Children’s Hospital the Same Day Republicans Slashes Medicaid Coverage for Low-Income Americans

News - Fri, 07/04/2025 - 19:30

In a rare public appearance on Thursday, First Lady Melania Trump visited patients at the National Children’s Hospital, bringing gifts that included stuffed animals, books, and a plant for the hospital’s garden.

Trump met with 10 children in the facility’s Garden Room, according to USA Today, where they made patriotic decorations from cups and rocks.

“I love to see you all,” Trump told the children.

The plant the first lady bought was a gift for the Bunny Mellon Healing Garden. She helped dedicate the garden in 2017, and six other former first ladies, including Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Bush, Nancy Reagan, and Rosalynn Carter, are or have been honorary chairs of the garden, USA Today reported.

The first lady also met privately with heart and kidney patients and their families.

The visit may seem like a great gesture from a first lady who is extremely private and makes very few public appearances, but, in an ironic twist, the visit coincided with the Republican-controlled Congress’ passage of her husband’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

President Donald Trump’s legislation slashes almost $1 trillion from Medicaid, a program that helps low-income and disabled children and adults access life-saving medical treatment and health care services.

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimates millions of Americans will lose their health insurance over the next 10 years as a result of the legislation. Medicaid covers some 70 million Americans.

Many of the children at the National Children’s Hospital depend on Medicaid to pay for their health coverage.

Trump even bragged about her visit on social media on her official X account.

“First Lady Melania Trump hands patients teddy bears as she visits with children at Children’s National Hospital,” followed by a heart emoji.

While the MAGA world gushed over the visit on social media, others pointed out the irony of it.

“Good time to visit before they lose their healthcare, ” X user wrote. “Is she informing them that their Healthcare was just cut?,” another remarked.

“Hmmm…. this is a PR stunt as transparent as a plastic shoe on a footballer. Sit, color, smile – every move calculated. Meanwhile, her husband’s on the phone with a dictator. The symbolism writes its own satire,” another X user posted.

She’s simply an opportunist leg opener, no shame. Yet you lot fawn over her like she’s genuine…laughable

The president spent an hour speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, which occurred while the first lady was at the hospital, according to news reports. The phone call was made before the House passed Trump’s signature bill.

The president had applied tremendous pressure on GOP lawmakers to pass his mega bill by the Fourth of July so that he could have an Independence Day signing ceremony.

In addition to giving massive tax breaks to his billionaire buddies and adding trillions of dollars to the national deficit, the tax and spend measure will make the biggest changes to health care since the Affordable Care Act passed in 2010.

Republicans paid for the massive spending measure, in part, by slashing more than $1 trillion from federal health programs, mostly with cuts to Medicaid.

‘Looks So Much Better Now’: Russell Crowe Shows Off His Drastic Weight Loss at Award Show with Fiancée Britney Theriot

News - Fri, 07/04/2025 - 17:30

“Gladiator” actor Russell Crowe, 61, is flaunting his new slimmer physique in public.

Photos of Crowe at the Mediterrane Film Festival Golden Bee Awards on June 29 have surfaced on the Internet. The event took place on Malta, the same island where “Gladiator” was filmed over two decades ago.

The Hollywood veteran showed up in an all-black suit with his 32-year-old fiancée, “Broken City” actress Britney Theriot, on his arm. Theriot wore a black longline shift dress.

“26 years ago, in a funny way, I became a man in Malta,” Crowe told the audience inside the Fort Manoel venue after accepting the Malta Film Legend honor at the Golden Bee Awards.

The New Zealand-born movie star continued, “For whatever films I had done before then, nothing had the majesty, ambition, and budget and ultimately reach of ‘Gladiator.’”

While Crowe reflected on how the European country impacted his life, celebrity watchers were focused on The Gentlemen Barbers band member’s dramatic appearance change in Malta.

After photos of Crowe and Theriot spread online, fans began sharing their takes on the Hollywood star shedding pounds.

For instance, one Daily Mail reader praised Crowe by commenting, “That’s one hell of an achievement at 60 years of age. Great job.”

“Good for him – for his health! I love his movies,” another person wrote. A third posted, “Great to see, I was quite worried about him looking so big previously.”

However, some people suspected Crowe dropped the pounds by using the weight-loss drug Ozempic. Someone commented, “Another Big O user. Let’s move on.”

“Good for you, Russell, looking pretty good now! Maybe Ozempic, who cares!” exclaimed one supporter. Likewise, one comment read, “He looks so much better now.”

Crowe’s weight-loss journey has been a topic of conversation for years. In 2016, he spoke about dropping 52 pounds after putting on weight for his role in the buddy cop film, “The Nice Guys.”

“I was 121.6 kilos (268 pounds) the first week of August last year,” Crowe said at the time, per ABC News. He also talked about “clawing” his way back into shape by dropping to 216 pounds.

Crowe was estimated to have been over 250 pounds coming off his role in the 2020 thriller “Unhinged.” He reportedly hit the 350-pound mark by February 2024.

By May 2025, reports claimed Theriot played a huge role in her famous fiancé’s body transformation. Apparently, she was also concerned about Crowe’s wellness.

“His weight was getting to a point where it was endangering his health, so she finally had to step up and say something to him,” an unnamed source explained to Life&Style.

According to the anonymous insider, Crowe changed his diet by focusing on lean protein as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. The “American Gangster” star also supposedly worked with a personal trainer.

“He’s lost a good 30 pounds at this point, but he’s still hoping to drop another 20 pounds to get back to a healthier weight,” the source stated, before adding, “He wants to look his best when he walks down the aisle, and that means getting rid of his belly.”

Theriot met Crowe during the filming of “Broken City” in 2013. They began dating in 2020 and made their red carpet debut in 2022 at the premiere of his “Poker Face” movie in Rome.

Crowe reportedly proposed to the New Orleans native in 2023. He was previously married to Australian singer Danielle Spencer from 2003 to 2018.

In July 2022, he posted a photograph on social media of himself with his and Spencer’s two sons, Charles, 21, and Tennyson, 18. Theriot and other unidentified friends were also in the picture taken during a trip to Rome, one of the locations where “Gladiator” was set.

“Gladiator” arrived in North American theaters in May 2000. Crowe’s portrayal of Maximus in the historical drama earned him a Best Actor Academy Award. The Ridley Scott-directed film also won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

‘Not Refundable’: Federal Judge Shuts Down Jan. 6 Rioter’s Request to Claw Back Fines and Restitution After Pardon From Trump

News - Fri, 07/04/2025 - 17:00

Hector Vargas Santos thought a presidential pardon would wipe his slate clean—and maybe even his wallet. But when the former U.S. Marine tried to claw back the money he paid in fines and restitution after his conviction in the Capitol riot, a federal judge made clear that forgiveness doesn’t come with a refund.

Santos, 29, of Jersey City, New Jersey, had hoped to recover more than $2,000 in payments made before he was pardoned by President Donald Trump. His case was among more than 1,500 Jan. 6 defendants who received clemency after Trump returned to office in January.

However, in a nine-page ruling issued last Friday, U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss sent the defendant packing with a legal precedent established 148 years ago.

Hector Vargas Santos (Photo: Facebook/Hector Vargassantos)

“As the Supreme Court explained in Knote… once a conviction has been ‘established by judicial proceedings,’ any penalties imposed are ‘presumed to have been rightfully done and justly suffered,’ regardless of whether the defendant later receives a pardon,” he wrote, citing the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1877 Knote v. United States decision. That ruling described a pardon as “an act of grace” that does not restore “rights or property once vested in others in consequence of the conviction and judgment.”

Moss, an appointee of President Barack Obama, firmly rejected Santos’ refund request because his debt to society had been paid during the time of his incarceration.

“Because Santos’ payments were collected while his convictions were ‘in force,’ id., the funds were not ‘erroneously collected’ and are therefore not refundable,” the judge wrote.

In 2023, Santos was convicted of four misdemeanors stemming from his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

“Santos was one of thousands who descended upon the Capitol that day, but he was one of the first individuals to breach the restricted Capitol grounds,” Moss noted. “Santos and his fellow rioters caused substantial physical damage to the Capitol, requiring the expenditure of more than $2.8 million for repairs.”

As part of his sentence, Santos was ordered to pay a $70 mandatory special assessment, $500 in restitution to the Architect of the Capitol, and a $2,500 fine. He paid a total of $2,026.19 before Trump granted him a pardon, including $1,456.19 toward the fine.

“In accordance with its usual protocol, the Finance Office for the District Court collected these funds and deposited them into the Crime Victims Restitution Fund within the United States Treasury,” Moss wrote. “After the court dismissed his case, Vargas submitted a request to the Finance Office for a refund of his payments, but the Office responded that it was unable to issue a refund.”

Santos cited a separate case, Nelson v. Colorado, in his argument for repayment. The Nelson case was a 2017 U.S. Supreme Court decision where the justices ruled that defendants whose convictions are vacated are entitled to a refund of any fines, fees, or restitution they paid. The Court held that keeping those funds without fair process violates due process rights. But Moss emphasized that Nelson did not apply to Santos because his conviction was not overturned — he was pardoned.

“Nelson had nothing to do with the scope of the pardon power,” the judge wrote. “Rather, it held that vacatur of a conviction presumptively entitles a defendant to a refund of her payments into the state’s coffers.”

Moss emphasized that the difference lies in how the conviction is undone. “The court’s power to order a refund does not turn on whether a defendant’s conviction was vacated or not; it turns on whether the defendant is entitled to funds that were deposited into the U.S. Treasury before the pardon was granted,” he explained.

“As Knote made clear, a pardoned individual is not ‘entitle[d]’ to payments that have already been deposited into the United States Treasury, absent congressional authorization to withdraw the funds.”

‘Ended Up with a Chipped Tooth’: Georgia Cop Joins Unemployment Line After Video Shows Him Body Slamming a Black Woman and Placing a Knee on Her Face Over Speeding Violation

News - Fri, 07/04/2025 - 15:00

It was only after Jasmine Taylor told the Georgia cops who had violently arrested her that her partner had recorded the arrest that they decided to release her from jail with no charges.

But that was only after she spent two nights in jail on a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving.

Then, once the 26-year-old Black woman was released from jail, she uploaded the videos to TikTok, where they have gone viral, exposing the Woodstock police officers for lying in their police reports, accusing her of “fighting” the cops.

Jasmine Taylor, right, was brutally slammed to the ground by a Georgia cop named Justin Davis who then placed his knee on her face during a routine traffic stop for speeding. (Photo: Jasmine Taylor)

But the video shows she was the one who was attacked and slammed to the ground by Woodstock police officer Justin Davis, who tells her, “I’m about to f-ck you up” for simply asking the officers why they had ordered her out of her car over a speeding violation.

That question annoyed the cops, so they took a speeding infraction, usually punishable by a citation, and elevated it to a reckless driving charge, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail.

But in their reports, they accused her of being “annoyed” and “indifferent” after being informed she had been speeding when the video shows she acknowledged the speeding but was merely asking why she had to step out of the car rather than being handed a citation and being allowed to leave.

Now, Taylor, a U.S. Navy veteran, has retained an attorney and plans to sue the Woodstock Police Department, which patrols a city about 30 miles north of Atlanta.

“He body slammed me and used his knee to push my head into the ground, and that’s how I ended up with a chipped tooth,” Taylor said in an exclusive interview with Atlanta Black Star.

“I was screaming, telling him that I could not breathe, and the female cop and the other cop came out of nowhere and moved him off me,” Taylor said.

“And they lied in their report and said that I was fighting him, but nowhere was I fighting him.”

Watch the video below, which confirms she was not fighting Davis, who was named Woodstock Rookie Officer of the Year for 2023.

Aggressive Arrest

The incident took place on June 29 as Taylor was working for Instacart, delivering a food order to a customer. Her partner was in the back seat when she was pulled over for speeding, accused of driving 51 mph in a 25 mph speed zone.

“I explained to them that I understood that I had been speeding and I was just trying to get the order taken care of so I could go get some gas because I was low,” Taylor described.

She said she handed the cops her information, and they walked back to the patrol car for a few minutes before the female cop returned and ordered her out of the car without explaining why.

“So I was confused and I asked her why, and told her ‘I’ve never been arrested. Why do I have to get out of the car? ‘What’s going on?’”

But the cop kept demanding that she step out of the car.

“I drive barefoot and I told her, ‘OK, I’m just trying to put my shoes on,’ but before I could say anything else, the third officer [Davis] reached inside the car and opened the door and told me, ‘I’m not asking you to get out of the car,’” she recounted.

“So I said, ‘Why are you being aggressive? I just said, I’m putting on my shoes. Like, what’s going on? Why are you being so aggressive?’ He ignored me. That’s when I told my partner in the back seat to start recording.”

Once out of the car, she was told to walk to the back of the car, where she continued conversing with the female cop, asking why they were escalating a routine traffic stop for speeding.

“I was asking her, ‘Why is he being so aggressive? I’ve never been pulled over. I’m a military veteran. I have a clean background. You’ll see that. It’s on my ID. It’s on my license,” Taylor said.

“I understand if I was speeding, so I’m not making any excuses for that. I don’t have a problem with that. I’m just trying to figure out why it’s going this extreme.”

“And before I could say anything else to her, he interrupted me and said, ‘You’re under arrest,’ and he slammed me to the ground and said, ‘I’m about to f-ck you up.’”

His vulgar threat was caught on video and even documented in the arrest reports, but they claim it was only a response to her fighting the cop, which she was not doing.

“I said, ‘if I was white, he would have never did this. And she said, No, that’s not the case. It’s not a race thing,” she said.

But there’s an entire Reddit thread discussing how racist and aggressive the cops are in Woodstock.

The Coverup

Once she was sitting in the back of the patrol car with her hands cuffed behind her back, she said she heard the cops speaking through an open window.

“I heard every single thing that they were saying about the situation of how he handled it and saying that they were not going to put in their report, so they ended up calling over the radio and saying that I fought the cop, so additional officers arrived on the scene,” she recalled.

She was jailed on a $1,000 bond, she says, but two days later, a cop told her she was being released with no bond because the charges had been dismissed. And this happened only after she had informed them that her partner had recorded the arrest on video, Taylor recalled.

“They told me I could go home, and I asked if my bond was made, and they said no, ‘They dropped the charges, you should be happy,’” she said. “But I told them that I’m still going to sue.”

One of the first things she did in her fight for justice was upload the videos to her TikTok channel, where they have been viewed and shared thousands of times.

The Instacart customer she was delivering to that night never received their food, but Taylor said she explained the situation to the company, and they allowed her to continue working.

“They understood and apologized for what happened,” she said.

But she never received an apology from the cops who violently arrested her.

“They were treating it as if it was no big deal,” said Taylor.

The Woodstock Police Department said Thursday it has fired Officer Davis after a use-of-force investigation determined he violated the department’s use-of-force policy.

‘Why Are You Punching Me?’: Ohio Cop Seen on Video Dragging Black Man from Passenger Seat and Breaking His Nose After He Dared to Question His Confusing Demands Is Facing Lawsuit

News - Thu, 07/03/2025 - 20:00

A white Akron police officer faces a second civil lawsuit accusing him of using excessive force against a Black man after he punched a passenger during a traffic stop, breaking his nose.

The federal lawsuit filed against Officer Warren Spragg and the city of Akron on June 27 alleges illegal use of excessive force, assault and battery and false arrest after Spragg yanked Terrell Battles, who was a passenger in his brother’s car, out of the vehicle and onto the ground and then repeatedly struck him in the head and torso.

Spragg and the city were previously sued in 2024 after the officer punched and arrested a man named Jordan Ely for resisting arrest. Ely was later acquitted of that charge and the city settled his civil lawsuit for $15,000, Signal Akron reported.

Terrell Battles (bottom right) was arrested by Akron Police Department officers on June 28, 2024. (Photo: Akron Police Department body cam video screenshot via Signal Akron)

The current complaint centers around an encounter Battles had with Akron police on June 28, 2024, when his brother was pulled over in West Akron for an expired tag violation and then was arrested for driving without a valid license.

Battles was also asked to produce his driver’s license, and complied, but then refused to exit the vehicle when told to by Spragg. Police bodycam video shows Battles questioning why that was necessary for about a minute, and then the officer opened the car door, grabbed Battles and dragged him to the ground.

As he and other officers pinned Battles down and attempted to cuff his hands behind his back, Spragg punched Battles several times in the head, face and torso, the footage showed, as Battles could be heard saying, “Why are you punching me?”

The third punch by Spragg broke his nose, the complaint says. Police video shows blood streaming from Battle’s nose and Spragg’s bloodied knuckles.

Battles was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and obstruction of official business, charges that he pleaded not guilty to and which were later dismissed, the lawsuit says, noting that Battles was “not actively resisting and posed no danger” to Spragg or the other officers.

In July 2024, Sgt. Utomhin Okoh conducted a use of force investigation of the incident, and cleared Spragg, finding the force he used to be “objectively reasonable.” The police department did not discipline Spragg for his conduct.

City of Akron Independent Police Auditor Anthony Finnell (right) found a police officer used excessive force while arresting Terrell Battles and called for a review of the department’s use-of-force policies at a Citizens’ Police Oversight Board meeting in February 2025. (Photo: Ideastream)

But in January 2025 the City of Akron Independent Police Auditor Anthony Finnell released a report detailing his review of the arrest, which concluded that the level of force used by Spragg against Battles was excessive.

Finnell also found that Spragg “failed to adequately and clearly communicate his intentions and actions, which exacerbated the situation,” and “missed multiple opportunities to calm the situation through dialogue and rapport-building, relying instead on commands and physical force.”

The auditor recommended that the Akron PD change the disposition of Spragg’s use of force from “Objectively Reasonable” to “Not Objectively Reasonable,” and to discipline the officer.

The lawsuit notes that Spragg has “an extensive history of excessive force and use of force generally” during his tenure with the Akron Police Department, and claims he has the highest amount of use of force cases in the department.

Attorney Imokhai Okolo, who is representing Battles, told Signal Akron in February that Spragg had at least 27 use-of-force incidents between January 2023 and August 2024, which he believes is the most of any Akron police officer during that period.

Finnell called Spragg “a frequent flyer” for use of force when he recommended that Spragg and other Akron police officers receive remedial training on the use of force and de-escalation at a Citizens’ Police Oversight Board meeting that month.

Besides claiming that Spragg violated federal civil rights laws when he used excessive force, assaulted and falsely arrested Battles, the lawsuit alleges that the city of Akron is liable for his actions and has for years “acquiesced to a culture of violence” in its police department.

The city has done so, the complaint says, by failing to properly train its officers on the use of unreasonable and excessive force; failing to properly investigate it when it occurs; failing to discipline, counsel and otherwise control police officers who engage in it; by condoning violent punches to the face when individuals pose no threat to police officer safety; by maintaining a “police code of silence” that encourages officers to remain silent or give false or misleading information during investigations; by letting supervisors automatically ratify their officers’ actions despite clear evidence to the contrary; and by allowing city employees to interfere with or hamper the oversight activities of the police auditor.

These de facto policies, practices and customs of the Akron Police Department, the lawsuit argues, result in “little or no meaningful investigation or disciplinary action in response to this pattern of misconduct, thereby creating a culture or climate where members of the police can and do escape their acts of misconduct with impunity.”

The complaint says the department’s use of excessive force disproportionately involves African-Americans, and lists six cases in which it alleges that unarmed Black men and women who were not resisting were violently arrested by Akron police. They include Dierra Fields, a Black woman who was arrested in her family home when an Akron police officer (who is also facing a civil lawsuit) body slammed her, causing injuries.

Battles claims he has suffered physical and psychological injuries, emotional trauma, loss of reputation, loss of liberty, and seeks a jury trial to determine unspecified compensatory, consequential and punitive damages.

Of Spragg, Battles told reporters, “I want to see him get off the force. There is good cops and there is bad cops, but bad cops like that don’t deserve to protect.”

The city of Akron and Spraggs have 21 days from the date they are served to file a response to the complaint, or until late July.

Meanwhile, on June 7, the Akron City Council voted to hire a consultant to conduct a review of the city’s use-of-force policy. The city will spend $350,000 on the contract, reported Ideastream.org.

The policy review would ensure Akron police officers have the best possible training, Mayor Shammas Malik said. It would help make it clearer for officers to determine when to use force and when to de-escalate, he said.

“If we’re putting them in difficult situations and not equipping them with the best possible policies and best possible training, in these life-and-death situations that we have seen over this last year and a half and before, then I think that’s a missed opportunity,” Malik said Monday.

Akron Police Chief Brian Harding said on average, the department responds to approximately 135,000 calls for service each year with 250 to 300 of them involving use-of-force.

“We owe it to our residents to have the best possible approach to these situations,” Malik said.

‘She Just Couldn’t Wait’: Lauren Sánchez Deletes Old Instagram, Changes Name as Fans Dig Up Her Messy Dating History

News - Thu, 07/03/2025 - 19:37

Lauren Sánchez, 55, and Jeff Bezos, 61, recently exchanged vows at the most talked-about wedding ceremony of 2025.

The power couple held their 200-guest nuptials in Venice, Italy, on June 27, where Sánchez walked down the aisle in a white Dolce & Gabbana dress that she shared glimpses of on social media.

“Not just a gown, a piece of poetry. Thank you @dolcegabbana for the magic you made,” the former Extra correspondent wrote as an Instagram caption.

Sánchez also recently uploaded a picture with Bezos from their wedding to her Instagram account. Milan-based photographer German Larkin shot the images.

However, many didn’t notice that she has a new tag name on Instagram. Sánchez appears to have scrubbed all of her past content from her laurenwsanchez account and launched a new account under the name, laurensanchezbezos, although the comments are limited.

More than 10,000 replies filled the Instagram comment section of the author’s posts, voicing their thoughts on the billionaire businessman and his new bride’s marriage.

Controversial media personality Piers Morgan wrote, “Love the dress – many congrats to you both.” Actress Lindsay Lohan expressed, “Stunning.” Singer Jewel exclaimed, “Poetry indeed!!”

Fans offered well wishes to Sánchez and Bezos, too. One person commented, “May your marriage be filled with endless joy, understanding, and unwavering love. Best wishes for a beautiful future together!”

Sánchez also had haters weighing in on her wedding photos. An unimpressed commenter declared, “Oh, please! EMBARRASSING.”

A second critical reply from someone who had finances on their mind typed, “Would love to see that prenup.”

Those who noticed the changes to her page wrote, “She just couldn’t wait to make that name change. I bet she lost sleep over it.”

Two others said, “I liked the ‘reset’ she did on her Instagram feed” and “She had her assistant wipe her Instagram 1 minute after saying ‘I do.'”

“My God, how much envy people are feeling about this union. The world no longer makes sense, where people can no longer be happy. May God bless this marriage,” proclaimed a supporter of the pair.

Bezos and Sánchez got engaged in May 2023 after the Amazon co-founder reportedly bought a $2.5 million, 30-carat diamond engagement ring for his now-wife.

Both newlyweds are on their second marriage. Bezos was married to MacKenzie Tuttle (now Scott) from 1993 to 2019. She is the mother of Jeff’s four adult children.

Sánchez was married to Endeavor executive Patrick Whitesell from 2005 to 2019. In addition to having a son and a daughter with Whitesell, she also has a son with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez.

There has been widespread speculation surrounding how and when Bezos and Sánchez entered into a romantic relationship. Each have been accused of having an extramarital affair that allegedly played a role in their respective divorces.

Neither Bezos nor Sánchez has confirmed that their romance began with infidelity. Considering Bezos is one of the richest people in the world, Sánchez has been accused of using the tech entrepreneur to climb the social ladder.

Bezos and Sánchez’s three-day, expensive Italian wedding extravaganza led to the resurfacing of reports showing Lauren was close to marrying multiple times before saying yes to her new husband.

She was previously engaged to sports broadcaster Rory Markas in 2019. Additionally, the former “Good Day L.A.” anchor was set to marry ex-Denver Broncos player Anthony Miller before breaking off the engagement in 2000.

“I couldn’t really trust her,” Miller said about his former fiancée, Sánchez, during an interview with the Daily Mail in 2019. “She gets around. She was cheating on me with other guys.” Sources claimed Miller was the one who cheated on Sánchez with an exotic dancer.

‘Would I Risk My Life’: Black North Carolina Woman Left Shaking After Uber Driver Pulls Out Knife In Chilling Viral Video – Then the Company Steps In

News - Thu, 07/03/2025 - 17:27

An unsettling video, posted on June 27, showed an Uber driver casually twirling a knife in his lap while driving a Black woman to her home.

The passenger, @Xkhatukhu, shared the clip on her social media, where it quickly went viral, amassing hundreds of comments concerned for her safety. “This driver’s name is Ethan,” wrote the scared passenger, hashtagging the caption #CTL, a common abbreviation for Charleston, North Carolina.

TikTok user @Xkhatukhu shared a video of an Uber driver twirling a knife during her ride. (Photos: Tiktok/@Xkhatukhu)

“Today I was blessed to make it out alive,” she stated.

Atlanta Black Star shared the video on our official Instagram account, and the post drew the attention of Uber. The company posted a response in the comments, confirming they had banned the driver after conducting an investigation.

“Rider safety is important to us, and we take situations like this very seriously. We have investigated this incident and have banned the driver from the Uber platform,” the statement read.

A post shared by Atlanta Black Star (@atlblackstar)

The ban comes as no surprise, as it’s in accordance with Uber’s official policy on weapons, which prohibits drivers from “carrying firearms or weapons of any kind (e.g., knives, tasers) while using the Uber apps, to the extent permitted by applicable law.”

The blade in question was a folding knife that the man held in a closed position while steering. He suddenly flipped it open and began to play with the handle and touch the blade, meanwhile taking both hands off the steering wheel. The passenger, who identified herself on social media as a behavioral health professional, secretly captured the whole thing on video from the back seat of the car and wisely chose not to confront the driver, who many noted appeared “scary” and “lost in his own mind.”

“I am here to help, but the help he needs, I don’t have that power. I choose me every time, in this situation I would not have done anything differently, nor would I risk my life…” she wrote in the comments of her TikTok post.

More than 800 people chimed in to show their support. “That’s inappropriate on his part [but I] don’t care if he’s innocently fidgeting. NO ONE should take this lightly under any circumstance,” stated one commenter.

The passenger, who has chosen to remain anonymous for her safety, has not indicated whether she will pursue any charges against the man or sue Uber.

In North Carolina, you can open-carry knives of all types, but there are stringent restrictions on “concealed carry,” and it’s generally considered illegal.

It’s unclear from the video if the knife was ever concealed during the ride. What’s more, the state’s concealed carry law makes an exception for “ordinary pocket knives” if the blade length is less than four inches.

For now, she just hopes her story will inspire others to be extra diligent when using rideshares — and not hesitate to document shady behavior.

“This is my story and the point of me sharing is to tell everyone to be cautious and use their instincts. I did report him to officials… he has my address. I’m not playing around with this man.”

‘Consequences of Laughing While Black’: Kansas City Man Hauled Out of Comedy Show and Arrested After Entitled White Woman Complained That He Was Laughing Too Loud, Lawsuit Says

News - Thu, 07/03/2025 - 16:00

A Black man arrested inside a comedy club for “Laughing While Black” has filed a lawsuit against the Missouri cops who arrested him and his girlfriend, accusing the cops of racial profiling.

Steve Young, who is also a police accountability activist, was arrested along with his activist girlfriend, Winifred L. Jamieson, who is white, and also listed as a plaintiff. Both are founders of the Kansas City Law Enforcement Accountability Project, which describes itself on its website as “holding police accountable, and advocating for victims of police violence since 2021.”

But it was Young’s race that led to the arrest in the first place, according to the federal lawsuit filed on June 18 that accuses Kansas City police officers B. Dougherty and J. Comfort of violating their constitutional rights.

The lawsuit filed by Kansas City attorney Arthur A. Benson II also claims Dougherty has a history of racial profiling.

Young’s race – Black – and Jamieson’s association and/or affiliation with him was a motivating factor in Dougherty’s decision to arrest them; there was a discriminatory purpose to their arrest.

On information and belief, Dougherty has intentionally and purposefully targeted, arrested, and charged a disproportionate number of Blacks and their associates, affiliates, or advocates, thereby disproportionately applying neutral laws to a specific class of people, i.e., Blacks and their associates, affiliates, or advocates.

The Arrest

The incident took place on March 22, 2022, at the Kansas City Music Hall during a set by stand-up comedian Hasan Minhaj, an American of Indian descent who spent four years working as a correspondent for “The Daily Show.”

Young and Jamieson sat behind a white woman and soon they were laughing and clapping along with the rest of the audience.

But the white woman sitting in front of them turned around and looked directly at Young, telling him to be quiet, the claim states.

Young ignored her demands and continued watching the show, laughing along with the rest of the audience, but the white woman became increasingly annoyed and even stood up at one point to face him, telling him to stop laughing, the couple alleges.

Young responded by telling her to stop harassing him and other members of the audience — who were also getting annoyed by the woman — “offered words of support” to the couple, the claim states.

The white woman then complained to the security guards working that evening, who called Kansas City police. Officers Dougherty and Comfort showed up and began questioning the couple, disrupting the show to the point where Minjal left the stage, informing the audience he would return once that situation was resolved.

Without interviewing witnesses to gain a full perspective of the situation, the cops arrested the couple on a charge of disorderly conduct, which is often a “contempt of cop” charge used against citizens who annoy officers when they can’t find an actual crime that the subjects have committed.

If anybody should have been charged with disorderly conduct, it should have been the white woman complaining about the couple, the claim states under the subtitle, “Consequences of Laughing While Black? Arrest, Prosecution, and Damages”:

At no time had there been any disorderly conduct by Young and Jamieson and they were not disruptive, or disturbing the peace of anyone.

To the extent there was any disturbance, it was caused by the woman seated in front of Young and Jamieson.

Neither Dougherty nor any of the other officers who responded conducted an investigation to determine whether or not an ordinance violation had even occurred. Although there was exculpatory evidence reasonably available at hand – Young, Jamieson, and other patrons seated nearby who were witnesses to what had transpired could have been interviewed before Young and Jamieson were arrested – Dougherty and the other officers arrested Young and Jamieson – solely on the basis of inherently unreliable hearsay not attributable to other law enforcement officers – without doing even that minimal investigation.

Had Dougherty and the other officers conducted such a minimal investigation and had they determined that it was the woman seated in front of Young and Jamieson who was the disorderly party who had caused the disturbance, Young and Jamieson would not have been arrested, charged, and prosecuted.

Lengthy Legal Ordeal

It took more than two years and thousands of dollars in attorney fees before the charges were dismissed against the couple in September 2024.

The lawsuit accuses the cops of violating the couple’s Fourth and 14th Amendment rights as well as malicious prosecution.

The lawsuit also accuses the cops of violating 42 U.S. Code § 1981 that is titled Equal Rights Under the Law and states the following:

All persons within the jurisdiction of the United States shall have the same right in every State and Territory to make and enforce contracts, to sue, be parties, give evidence, and to the full and equal benefit of all laws and proceedings for the security of persons and property as is enjoyed by white citizens, and shall be subject to like punishment, pains, penalties, taxes, licenses, and exactions of every kind, and to no other.

The contract in question was between the couple and the comedian, they assert in their claim:

The arrest of Young and Jamieson by state actors Dougherty and Comfort on the basis of race interfered with the enforcement of the contract and with their anticipated benefit of the purchase contract, i.e., that they would be allowed to watch the show in its entirety.

Additionally, because of their arrest – state action – by Dougherty and Comfort on the basis of race, Young and Jamieson were also deprived of the full and equal benefit of all laws for the security of persons that were enjoyed by the white woman in the row in front of them in that she complained about their behavior and the police intervened on her behalf and not on behalf of Young and Jamieson.

Judging by previous articles reported by Atlanta Black Star over the years, including the time Kansas City police body slammed a Black man for recording police in public and the time they shot and killed an unarmed Black man, resulting in a $5 million settlement, it is not surprising they would arrest the Black man instead of the white woman who started the confrontation.

It was, in fact, Young who recorded the cop body slamming the Black man back in 2022, but the recent lawsuit does not state that the plaintiffs claim he was retaliated against for his activism.

‘You Better Keep His Wife’s Name Out of Your Mouth’: Will Smith Comes for Chris Rock Again Three Years After the Oscars Slap Over Joke About His Wife Jada Pinkett Smith

News - Thu, 07/03/2025 - 15:51

Will Smith is not over the 2022 Oscars, and fans will have to hear about it. The rapper, 56, is facing mounting claims that he is in the midst of a midlife crisis that has him harping on the past on wax.

He relaunched his music career this year with a new album, “Based On A True Story,” and as a result he’s been getting a few thoughts off of his chest.

One in particular seems to be about Smith infamously slapping Chris Rock three years ago. In a recent episode of Apple Music’s “Fire in the Booth” series, the actor once again took aim at his industry peers.

In the freestyle, Smith rapped, “Now I’m not the type of man to move in malicious ways, and I ain’t too grown to play childish games/ But if you talking crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage, expect me on the stage/ Joker dish it out, cry foul when it’s time to take it.”

Weeks earlier on his album track, “Int. Barbershop Day,” he rapped, “Will Smith is cancelled, You can’t cancel no icon.” Later in the song he says, “Him and Jada both crazy, girl, what you talking ’bout? You better keep his wife’s name out of your mouth You’re talking ****, but if he came right now You’d be like, “Come in, Mr. Smith, would you please sit down?” Hell nah, I’d be like, “Come get a fade ‘Cause all your haircuts I seen on the big screen been lame.”

Rock reportedly was not fond of Smith referring to the moment he took an open-handed blow to the face at the awards ceremony after a joke comparing Jada Pinkett Smith, 53, to “G.I. Jane” due to her bald appearance. The actress had a shaved head at the time.

Smith still won Best Actor for his role in “King Richard” minutes after the assault. Soon afterward, he received a 10-year ban from Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences events and resigned from the organization.

The Oscar winning actor also issued a public apology to Rock months after the incident. However, the slap resurfacing now has provoked mixed reactions. For starters, a person shared, “Somebody better check on Unc. This is him spiraling out of control.”

A second hot take read, “I told y’all Will DID NOT mean that apology. They made him do that. He had too many family movies coming out at the time. Chris had been picking at them for YEARSSS. I always said Will would do it again if he had the chance.”

Two others added, “I knew that apology was bogus,” and “So will DIDN’T mean the apology to Chris rock ..got it.”

— theJasmineBRAND (@thejasminebrand) June 30, 2020

A fourth noted, “So he feels Chris disrespected him by joking on Jada so he took to the stage. Will has lost it.”

Chris Rock and the Smiths have shared a decades-long connection, collaborating on various TV shows and films over the years. From days appearing on the 90’s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” to more recent appearances, both actors have also been seen enjoying each other’s company off-screen, reflecting a long-standing professional and personal rapport. Rock and Jada have also voiced characters together in the film franchise, “Madagascar.”

One commenter questioned why Smith had smoke for Rock but none for the man who once had an intimate relationship with his wife, writing, “A man young enough to be your son … if not on stage, in bars on a song?”

Jada admitted to having an “entanglement” with singer August Alsina in a 2020 episode of “The Red Table Talk” after years of speculation and rumors.

Two years ago, in 2023, the “Low Down Dirty Shame” actress revealed that she and Will have been separated since 2016 —the same year that she reportedly began dating the then-23-year-old. The estranged couple has not divorced but they continue to live separate lives as rumors run wild.

‘What Do You Think MAGA Smells Like?’: Abby Phillip, Social Media Roasts Trump’s ‘Cult’ Perfume Line in Hilarious, Unhinged Threads

News - Thu, 07/03/2025 - 10:00

Ever thought about what MAGA smells like? Apparently, President Donald Trump has. He’s hawking a new fragrance in his latest effort to profit off the office of the U.S. presidency.

It’s no surprise. Trump has already made millions on cryptocurrency during his short time back in office, including the digital assets startup World Liberty Financial and the $TRUMP cryptocurrency.

And maybe a little more eye-opening than the perfume itself is when Trump decided to announce his newest money-making venture: Monday night, right in the middle of Senate Republicans’ efforts at passing his “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Trump took a little time off monitoring the legislative sausage-making to tout his new cologne on his Truth Social platform, announcing, “Trump Fragrances are here.”

And, of course, the expensive bottles, which cost almost $250 for 3.3 ounces, are golden, crowned by a gilded statue of Trump in an obvious imitation of an Oscar statue.

“They’re called ‘Victory 45-47’ because they’re all about Winning, Strength, and Success — For men and women,” Trump wrote.

“Get yourself a bottle, and don’t forget to get one for your loved ones too. Enjoy, have fun, and keep winning!” he continued before adding the link where his minions can buy the smell of success.

That link leads to his GetTrumpFragrances website, which proclaims, “These are only official Fragrances by President Trump!” The bottles are selling for $249, but, ever the pitchman, Trump is offering a deal. Buy two or more and get $50 off.

The media is having a field day with this one. His favorite CNN anchor, Abby Phillip, wondered on “CNN NewsNight” Monday, “What do you think MAGA smells like?” And other amused CNN anchors called it “weird” and “not normal.”

Here’s what X user Rudy Havenstein had to say about it.

“What real man would not want to smell like Donald Trump? The new fragrance for red-blooded, manly patriots – and people with Osmolagnia.” (We’ll let you look up the definition of osmolagnia yourself)

“In the ongoing saga of the Trump family grifts, we have now arrived at FRAGRANCES,” another user so wisely discerned.

Trump Fragrances: Victory 45-47 — because nothing says "Winning" like a cologne that smells like lies, discount cocaine, and pool chlorine. It’s a cult in a bottle. pic.twitter.com/z1UibBDDvY

— Russell Drew (@RussOnPolitics) June 30, 2025

Trump Fragrances – a heady blend of bile, sanctimony and sandalwood, specifically formulated to mask the scent of your evil, rotting soul from dogs and other animals,” another person wrote.

Trump’s merchandising campaigns are mind-boggling. During his 2024 presidential campaign, he sold everything from watches, Bibles, and gold sneakers to commemorative coins, digital trading cards, and cryptocurrency.

And once in office again, in addition to the cryptocurrency, he’s hawked Trump-branded guitars and even a mobile phone service.

‘Vile and Immature Human Beings’: Black Author Says White Couple Tried to Get Her Removed from VIP Section of Virgin Voyages Cruise Ship, Implied She Traded Incident Favors for Access

News - Wed, 07/02/2025 - 22:00

A Black British author recounted a racist encounter with a white couple on a cruise ship who accused her of trading sexual favors for VIP access and complained about her to staff members.

Toni Tone took to TikTok to discuss the incident, which she described as “the most racist encounter” of her life during a mid-June vacation on a Virgin Voyages cruise ship.

Tone said she and her mother had access to a VIP area on the ship known as “Richard’s Rooftop,” where she first encountered a couple, whom she dubbed “Chuck and Stephanie from Alberta.”

Author Toni Tone, left, says she was harassed by the couple pictured on the right on a Virgin Voyages cruise. (Photos: Toni Tone/Instagram, TikTok)

While Tone was taking a photo, the man she called “Chuck” photobombed her picture, then proceeded to question her about how she was able to access the VIP section.

Moments later, a cruise line worker approached Tone to tell her that the couple reported her, alleging that she had taken photos of them without their permission.

When Tone tells the staff member about the photo bombing incident, the employee tells her he knew the complaint was baseless because he witnessed the situation, but wanted to let her know they complained.

Tone said that at that point, the man goes to the bar, finds a staff member, and loudly demands that the staff remove her and her mother from the rooftop area, falsely alleging that they didn’t have authorization. He ultimately fails in his attempt to get the mother-daughter pair removed.

Tone said she and her mother were the only Black people in the VIP section at the time.

“He’s seething, absolutely seething that we have not been kicked out,” Tone said.

At one point, Tone also got into the hot tub where the couple was, and the woman intentionally splashed water into her face.

“I knew exactly what they were doing. They were trying to intentionally push me and antagonize me in a way that they hoped would garner a reaction from me – an outburst or a reaction that is so significant, it would then justify staff kicking me out,” Tone said.

Then, the couple proceeded to insult Tone and allege that she got into the section for free by exchanging sexual favors with a Virgin employee.

“At this point in my mind, I’m like this man and his girlfriend or whatever – clearly racist. I’ve come to this conclusion because it’s the only thing that is making sense in my mind right now,” Tone states.

As Tone relayed what happened, she applauded Virgin Voyages’ staff for how they handled the situation, stating they defended her and her mother’s right to be in the VIP section when the couple complained, and also gave them special VIP wristbands so they wouldn’t face more harassment.

“Shout out to Virgin staff because the way they dealt with that situation was great,” Tone stated. “The staff were absolutely amazing, but these two people, some of the most vile and immature human beings I’ve ever had the dishonor of coming across in my life.”
