‘I’m Not Trying to Rob You’: Walmart Employee Offered $5 for $300 Winning Lottery Ticket Until Winner Pushed Back, Video Shows
An aspiring comedian from Kansas City, Missouri, might have thought his eyes were playing tricks on him when he learned he was the winner of $300 scratch-off lottery ticket.
That’s because when he tried to collect his prize money at Walmart, the employee offered him $5. In a viral video, the winner, who goes by Darius So Hilarious on social media, is certainly not cracking jokes. He’s getting increasingly agitated as the Walmart employee shortchanges him by $295 and quickly stashes the ticket away in a drawer.
“You can’t win $5 on a $30 lottery ticket!” Darius exclaimed, before demanding that the associate return his ticket, knowing that something was amiss. The employee, however, blamed the machine, saying, “I’m not trying to rob you, I’m not losing my job over this,” yet stalled on returning the ticket.

The video cuts to Darius threatening to call the police. After a store supervisor inspected the ticket, the Walmart associate scanned it again, and the correct price amount suddenly appeared.
“Thank you! Give me my f**king money, man!” But before he gets his winnings, he’s lectured about his attitude by the employee and questioned about the recording.
“I’m recording for my safety,” said Darius.
The video has gone viral on social media, with many sharing their own stories of being scammed out of lottery winnings in the comments section.
“This is very common. Always understand how to play and double-check yourself. Many businesses have lost their gambling licenses for lying about lottery winnings in an attempt to cash in tickets themselves!”
“He thought he had $295 to collect at the end of his shift!” said one person, which was followed by “Not even an apology… he tried to get an attitude with the victim.” Many urged Darius to “call corporate and forward the video.”
The comedian posted a follow-up video on Facebook, saying, “These lottery ticket machines, they do not make mistakes. Once you scan the code… I don’t give a d*mn what the problem is, unless that machine is down for the day. Once you scan this code, it’s going to tell you exactly how much you won. That dude in the last video did not scan the ticket.”
Lottery scams are common, and many lotto-ticket-selling clerks are behind bars for stealing winnings, from convenience stores to big box retailers.
In 2024, two teenage Walmart employees in San Angelo, Texas, were charged with stealing one million dollars over the course of six months, allegedly creating fake winning lottery transactions and pocketing the cash. Meanwhile, Walmart is making a major push into lottery sales, potentially allowing the sale of tickets at all registers, according to LotteryGeeks.com. Atlanta Black Star reached out to Walmart, but the company has not commented on Darius’s video.
‘Where Have You Been?’: Kamala Harris Tries to Clap Back at MAGA Over Past Digs, But Her Absence Is What Really Has People Talking
Former Vice President Kamala Harris, 60, is ready to step back into the limelight following her defeat to President Donald Trump, 79, in 2024.
After serving as VP for four years during the Joe Biden administration, Harris was not able to win the White House in 2024, but the Oakland native will be exposing the behind-the-scenes of her campaign in a new book.
Harris has begun to promote her forthcoming Simon & Schuster-backed memoir titled “107 Days,” which will be published on Sept. 23.
Former VP Kamala Harris mocks Trump suportters in viral TikTok as she promotes her new memoir. (Photo by NICHOLAS KAMM/AFP via Getty Images)On July 31, the Democratic politician shared a video on her verified TikTok page, showing herself as she pretends to have a conversation with someone off screen while covering her mouth from the side.
“Everyone thinks you’ve been kicking back, drinking margaritas on the beach, but really you’ve been hard at work writing a book, meeting with leaders, thinking about the future of our country,” Harris stated.
The Howard University graduate then turned toward the camera and added, “Who said that?” Since landing on the social networking platform, the 14-second clip has amassed over 2 million likes and 32,000 comments.
“I hope you have also been kicking back drinking margaritas on the beach. Multitasking baddie,” one Harris fan expressed.
A reply to that comment about the highest-ranking woman in American government history read, “Right? She has definitely earned some margarita[s] and beach time.”
@kamalaharrisWhen your quietest thoughts turn into a book. 107 Days coming this September.
♬ original sound – Kamala Harris“I would be drinking too if I lost to Agent Orange knowing fully well, he cheated,” expressed one person who believes Trump stole the 2024 election, despite no evidence proving that allegation to be true.
Another Harris representative wants her to run for the presidency again in three years, writing, “And getting the 2028 presidential campaign ready.”
In contrast, a faultfinder wondered, “Kamala where have you been?”
Harris’ mention about drinking margaritas may have been a subtle jab at some of her right-wing detractors. Following her defeat to Trump in the 2024 election, she faced unsubstantiated accusations of appearing intoxicated in video posts.
In late November 2024, Harris joined her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, to deliver a message to their disappointed voters. Trump supporters accused the former U.S. senator from California of being intoxicated in the video.
Harris was coming off her loss to Trump in the Electoral College by 226 to 312. The Republican ticket, which included then-Sen. JD Vance, also won the popular vote by a 77 million to 75 million margin.
The 2024 presidential election remains a newsworthy topic more than eight months later. Recently, Trump threatened to prosecute Grammy Award-winning singer Beyoncé over baseless claims connected to her endorsement of Harris.
Trump wrongfully accused Queen Bey of breaking the law by allegedly receiving $11 million from the Harris campaign for a rally in Houston. He also called out MSNBC political analyst Al Sharpton and media mogul Oprah Winfrey in the same Truth Social post.
CNN fact checked Trump’s statement about Beyoncé. According to the news outlet, federal campaign spending records show the Harris campaign did pay $165,000 to Bey’s production company, which is not illegal.
In fact, Federal Election Commission rules require political campaigns to cover the fair market value for the ancillary costs for events, such as paying for travel, staging, and the food provided.
“We do not pay. We have never paid any artist and performer. We have never paid a fee to that person,” Harris campaign senior spokesperson Adrienne Elrod told Deadline in November 2024. Elrod also stated, “There are laws that have to be followed that we have followed religiously on this campaign.”
View this post on InstagramA post shared by Kamala Harris (@kamalaharris)
With “107 Days,” Harris is looking to provide a “candid and personal account” of what she describes as “the shortest presidential campaign in modern history.” She became the Democratic nominee after then-President Biden dropped out of the race in July 2024.
Harris will tell her side of the story regarding that four-month sprint to Election Day. She kicked off the book announcement with an appearance on the late-night talk show of Trump’s media nemesis, Stephen Colbert, on July 31.
“Writing ‘107 Days’ felt like living the campaign in reverse — rewinding each moment and experiencing it all over again,” Harris captioned an Instagram post about her upcoming book.
The Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority member continued, “Behind every speech I gave, hand I shook, and story I told on the road, there were deeper layers, quiet reflections, and lessons learned.”
‘Let Me Finish!’: All Hell Breaks Loose on CNN NewsNight As Abby Phillip Clashes with MAGA’s Scott Jennings Over Trump’s Tariff Policies; One Panelist Takes Off His Shoe
A roundtable uproar on “CNN NewsNight” erupted Tuesday when Abby Phillip and other guests clashed with conservative panelist Scott Jennings over President Donald Trump’s tariff policies.
The on-air shouting match reached a fever pitch at one point, with panelists talking over each other after Jennings defended Trump’s whiplashing tariff agenda.
A few months ago, Trump declared April 2 “Liberation Day” as he announced a series of astronomical tax hikes on dozens of U.S. trading partners. At the time, he insisted the impossibly sky-high tariffs were “retaliatory” for high tariffs on U.S. goods and that the U.S. was just responding in kind.
Phillip: What was happening in April?
Jennings: The president was implementing his tariff agenda.
Phillip: And what were the levels?
Jennings: Every person predicted calamity
Phillip: What were those levels?
Jennings: They were different
Phillip: They were 2-3 times higher… pic.twitter.com/RwAfG0r5ra
But it turns out that was false, that Trump confused high U.S. trade deficits with tariffs on American products. And he has since significantly lowered tariffs, some higher than 100% at one point, to much lower tax levels.
Jennings attacked liberal experts who predicted a coming recession back in April and derided them for suggesting Trump’s tariffs would result in economic turmoil.
“I’d like to build a DeLorean and go back to April,” Jennings said before recounting the doom and gloom economic predictions over the tariffs at the time.
“What was happening in April, Scott?” Phillip asked.
All hell broke loose among the panelists at the table as CNN’s Richard Quest interjected, “Just a second, sir.
“You called the recession,” Jennings said accusingly, referring to Quest’s forecast prediction and how he took his shoe off to emphasize the point. “You took your shoe off.”
“Listen, Scott. It’s too early to give a final verdict,” Quest said as he took off his shoe again.
"You took your shoe off, and you said there was going to be a recession."
Scott Jennings calls out CNN economist Richard Quest for being wrong about prediction claiming President Trump would cause a recession.
Abby Phillip forgets she is a moderator and joins Quest in argument. pic.twitter.com/7Kra5jYiDu
Phillip then jumped in, asking Jennings about the situation in April, arguing there’s been no recession yet because Trump never implemented the massive tariffs.
“The president was implementing his tariff agenda,” Jennings answered.
“And what were the levels?” Phillip asked.
“Well, they were different for different countries … but every single person predicted calamity,” Jennings pointed out.
Phillip pointed out that the tariffs Trump was threatening to enact in April were “two to three times higher than the current tariff levels.”
“Did those tariffs go into place, Scott?” Phillip pressed.
“It’s different for every country,” Jennings responded.
“It’s a simple question. Did those tariffs go into place?” she asked again.
Jennings admitted some of the tariffs have not been implemented. That’s when Phillip emphasized none of the threatened taxes in April have gone into effect.
As guests talked over each other, Phillip called Jennings “completely disingenuous.”
“Give me one second. Please let me finish. It is completely disingenuous to suggest that what economists said would happen if Trump imposed 50 and 60 percent tariffs, ‘oh, let’s jump all the way up to 135 percent level tariffs,’ on this economy would have been a recession. Those levels never happened, which is why there has been no recession. It’s not that complicated,” she concluded.
The clock is ticking down to the Aug. 1 deadline, when Trump is scheduled to impose another round of taxes on dozens of countries with rates up to 50 percent. That’s in addition to tariffs on U.S. trading partners that the administration has already announced or negotiated through new agreements.
‘His Face Said It All’: Donald Trump Gets Whacked In the Face By Mic During Press Conference, Leaving Fans In Tears Over Resurfaced Video
A resurfaced video from a March press conference has the internet in stitches as President Donald Trump found himself face-to-face with more than just tough questions from reporters.
The viral clip shows the now-79-year-old commander in chief conducting what appeared to be a routine media gaggle at Joint Base Andrews military facility in Maryland when an overzealous boom microphone operator inadvertently created a moment that has now captured widespread attention and left many on social media doubled over with laughter.
A viral video shows Trump getting accidentally hit in the face with a microphone during a press conference. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)The incident unfolded on March 14 following Trump’s speech at the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
As reporters crowded around the president on the tarmac at the military facility, eager to get their questions answered about pressing national issues, the atmosphere was business as usual until an unexpected collision changed the entire dynamic of the press conference.
Video footage captured by News.com.au shows the precise moment when journalism literally got up close and personal with the president in the most unintended way possible.
While fielding a question from a reporter, Trump suddenly found himself struck in the mouth by a boom microphone that appeared from below, catching him completely off guard. The fuzzy windscreen-covered microphone made direct contact with his lips before sliding past his left cheek, prompting an immediate reaction that would become the stuff of viral internet gold.
When “Inside Edition” posted the footage on YouTube, one viewer perfectly summed up the moment, noting that “His face said it all.”
Trump’s response was nothing short of theatrical. He slightly moved his head back, trying to keep his expression cool, swiftly looking at the off-camera microphone operator and then back as if to answer the question about the Middle East.
The woman responsible for the mishap could be heard offering a sincere apology, saying “I’m so sorry,” but Trump’s raised eyebrows spoke volumes about his thoughts on the situation.
Rather than expressing anger or frustration, Trump seemed to recognize the entertainment value of the moment almost immediately.
As a reporter attempted to redirect the conversation toward the serious topic of Gaza, the president couldn’t help but acknowledge what had just transpired.
“She just made television tonight,” he commented with characteristic flair, demonstrating his keen understanding of how such moments translate into media coverage.
Trump continued his commentary, turning to someone off to the side and adding, “She just became a big story tonight, right? Did you see that?”
His prediction proved remarkably prescient, as the clip quickly gained traction across social media platforms, generating countless reactions and commentary from viewers who found humor in the unexpected encounter.
According to People, a photograph from another angle showed three crew members holding boom microphones in Trump’s direction, creating crowded working conditions around the president.
Whoops! Found a pic of the gaggle.
There goes my "bumped from behind" theory. pic.twitter.com/HHiekZjtTo
The woman responsible for the collision stood directly opposite him, wearing a beige trench coat and headphones, professional equipment that couldn’t prevent the decidedly unprofessional moment that followed.
The incident sparked varied reactions, highlighting both its absurdity and relatability.
Some found genuine humor in the situation, with one person admitting, “Why am I laughing so hard at this?!”
Others connected it to broader themes, with one viewer noting, “Secret Service drops the ball, again,” referencing previous security lapses during Trump’s campaign that resulted in an attempt to take his life by a critic.
The entertainment industry took notice, with one enthusiastic viewer expressing hope that “SNL does a skit about this!!”
Perhaps the most creative response came from someone who joked, “Tariffs on boom microphones starting Monday,” cleverly referencing Trump’s tendency to use the trade tools against countries that he is upset with.
While this microphone mishap provided lighthearted entertainment, Trump has experienced other notable media gaffes throughout his political career.
During Hurricane Dorian in 2019, he incorrectly claimed the storm might hit Alabama and displayed a weather map apparently altered with a Sharpie, leading to widespread ridicule and legal concerns, East Bay Times reports.
Another time was at Liberty University in 2016, speaking to an evangelical audience, he quoted “Two Corinthians” instead of “Second Corinthians,” drawing audible corrections from students familiar with scripture.
Most controversially, during 2020 protests following George Floyd’s death, he held up a Bible backward and upside down at St. John’s Church after protesters were cleared with tear gas from Lafayette Square across the street from the White House, prompting sharp criticism from religious leaders across denominations.
The microphone incident stands apart as pure comedic timing that allowed people to find humor in routine politics, proving the most memorable political moments are often completely unscripted ones that remind us of our shared humanity.
‘Has Lost Her Damn Mind’: White Mom Dragged Online for Making Her Black Children Eat Scraps ‘Like Animals’ In Parenting Advice Video
A white mom of biracial triplets faced backlash earlier this year for feeding her daughters scraps of pizza from a food court table at a big box store.
The post has recently surfaced, causing a new wave of shock among parents who are crying out, “This is gross, wtf!” on social media.
Screenshots from a viral video showing a mother feeding her children. (Photos: Instagram/BadparentingTv)There’s no debate that raising triplets can be both hugely difficult and rewarding, pretty much requiring triple the work. Many moms of multiples have special tricks up their sleeves to navigate the day-to-day challenges, but eating off a public table sans napkins or plates is usually not one of them. Adding fuel to the fire, the unidentified mother posted the clip under the guise of parenting advice.
“My number one hack as a mom of triplets: Food scissors!” she wrote on her video. “They stay in my diaper bag making eating on the go so easy and fast!”
View this post on InstagramA post shared by Bad Parenting TV (@badparentingtv)
In the clip, her three adorable babies can be seen eagerly gobbling up bits and pieces of a pepperoni pizza slice that the mom had cut with scissors and tossed to them on the bare table, “like animals,” commenters stated. Parenting “hacks” are important, but this proved too much for the moms of social media, who found the whole scene disheartening and, well, disgusting.
“I don’t care if my children throw food plates, forks, spoons, or even the whole table on the floor!! THEY’RE NOT EATING FOOD OFF THE TABLE, ESPECIALLY A PUBLIC ONE SMH,” said one, representing the overall sentiment of hundreds of comments. The original clip, posted by the Instagram account “Bad Parenting TV,” resurfaced on Threads on July 30, accompanied by the caption, “I’m sure she feeds her dogs in bowls.”
“Is this racist? White woman gets a plate, but three little black girls have to eat off the nasty table?” asked another, followed by more outraged comments. “Like, has she lost her damn mind?! And cutting it with scissors! Where tf have those scissors been?!”
Some people came to the mom’s defense, believing she had wiped the table with disinfectant before feeding the children.
“Anyone in here who doesn’t have triplets and is harping on the strategy needs to …” exclaimed one supporter, while others say the situation has nothing to do with race.
Triplets are far less common than twins, making up only about 0.7% of births, and significantly increase the financial strain on parents, making cheap lunch hacks a necessity.
Still, a white mother feeding her Black children this way, and posting it to social media, doesn’t sit right with many.
“Why must their ‘parenting hacks’ always be at the expense of Black children’s dignity?” asked one, adding, “These posts are never funny. Wish they’d stop using Black children as r@ci$t entertainment and monetizing on those clicks.”
‘Beat Innocent People!’: Furious Trolls Call for Councilwoman’s Removal Over ‘Outrageous’ Comment On Viral Cincinnati Brawl, But She’s Not Backing Down As Full Video Is Released
A Cincinnati council member is in hot water in her city for her reaction to a viral downtown brawl that drew race-based rhetoric online and resulted in five arrests.
Councilwoman Victoria Parks took to Facebook to comment on a video showing the moments leading up to a full-fledged brawl in downtown Cincinnati on July 26.
Clips of the fight have been reposted and reshared numerous times across social media platforms.
A Cincinnati Councilwoman is facing backlash for comments on a viral brawl. (Credit: ATL Black Star/Instagram)Right-wing social media accounts that circulated clips of the scene to millions of people have claimed the brawl is an example of race-based violence, painting the individuals involved as a “black mob” who beat up a white man and woman. But it’s unclear whether racial motivation played a part in the confrontation.
The video Parks commented on shows two men engaged in a fistfight. After one man slaps the other, several other people swarm him and begin punching, kicking, and stomping him repeatedly. A woman who later intervened in the fight was knocked unconscious.
“They begged for that beat down!” Parks posted to Facebook on Sunday, July 27, at 4:50 a.m. “I am grateful for the whole story.”
Local news outlet WLWT contacted Parks about her remarks. She said she stands by the social media comment, which she has not deleted. Parks has served on Cincinnati’s city council since January 2022. She has previously stated that she will not be seeking re-election.
View this post on InstagramA post shared by Atlanta Black Star (@atlblackstar)
City and state officials have shared their reactions to Parks’ response, which have ranged from disappointment to calls for new leadership.
“It’s unconscionable that an elected official would be celebrating violence in the very city she was voted to serve,” Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police president Ken Kober told Fox News Digital. “This highlights the poor political environment that police officers, residents and visitors are currently enduring. Thankfully, there’s an election in November. I urge voters to vote for change!”
“The violence we have seen is unacceptable and inaction is not an option,” Councilmember Mark Jeffreys said. “While we let the investigation and law enforcement process play out, it is important that all elected officials and leaders in our community say clearly that anyone acting the way we saw in that video will not be tolerated in Cincinnati. Anything less than that from our leaders is a failure.”
Phil Plummer a former sheriff and candidate for Ohio Senate District 5 called for her resignation. “Cincinnati Councilwoman Victoria Parks must resign immediately! Defending violent criminals who viciously beat innocent people is disgusting. Her words “They begged for that beat down!” are outrageous. Prosecutors must charge the attackers with a hate crime. We must protect our streets!
A couple of days after the fight, Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge announced five people were arrested and charged. In her remarks at a press conference, she also denounced the rhetoric that emerged on social media about the brawl.
“Social media, the posts that we’ve seen, does not depict the entire incident. That is one version of what occurred,” Theetge said, adding that the commentaries that have emerged are misrepresentations of the circumstances. “What that does, that causes us some difficulty in thoroughly investigating the activity and enforcing the law. Because what happens, that social media post and your coverage of it distorts the content of what actually happened and it makes our job more difficult.”
Authorities anticipate more arrests to come.
Cincinnati police confirmed the fight was the result of a verbal altercation, but it’s unclear what the parties involved were arguing about before resorting to fisticuffs.

Although demands have surfaced for hate crime charges, no such charges have been filed. Prosecutors have accused two of the co-defendants of coordinating the fight and setting it up as “an ambush,” WLTX reported.
A defense attorney disputed the argument, stating that the man who threw the first slap that led to the brawl was allegedly seen kicking a defendant’s vehicle.
‘He’ll Do It Again’: Atlanta Cop Who Killed Rayshard Brooks After He Fell Asleep In Wendy’s Drive-thru Smiles In Mug Shot After Arrest for Choking and Assaulting Black Employee In Bar
The Atlanta police officer who fatally shot an unarmed Black man in 2020 was recently jailed on assault charges connected to a bar fight in Midtown Atlanta.
Garrett Rolfe was booked into a Fulton County Jail on July 30 on a simple assault charge after he allegedly fought a staff member at X Midtown on Piedmont Avenue last month.
According to WXIA, citing information from a warrant, the fight happened at 1:20 a.m. on June 29. Two Atlanta officers were called to the scene and were met outside by Rolfe, who had a bloody nose.
Garrett Rolfe (Photo: YouTube screenshot/11 Alive)The 32-year-old, who was off duty, told police that he was at the bar with a friend when his friend took a picture of the bartender because he believed he was overcharged for his drink.
The bartender’s girlfriend approached Rolfe and his friend, demanding that the photo be deleted.
According to the bar owner, Rolfe and his friend only escalated the altercation, and another bar employee became involved after he was called inside the establishment from his post on the patio.
Rolfe told officers that the employee started “pulling and pushing” his friend out of the bar. Rolfe said he approached the staff member and asked what was going on, but the employee grabbed the collar of his shirt and started “pulling and stretching it.”
Rolfe said when he tried to escape the staffer’s grip, the employee threw him against a wall, and “began strangling him to the extent of which he could not breathe.” Then, Rolfe said he started punching him.
Rolfe told the cops he hit him back in self-defense, “delivering closed hand strikes to his body and face.”
However, the employee told a different story, saying it was Rolfe who attacked first. He stated that when he tried to escort him and his friend out of the bar, Rolfe began punching him. That’s when he fought back to defend himself.
Despite both men claiming self-defense, police arrested the bar staffer, 52-year-old Raefeael Penrice, on battery and simple assault. Rolfe was let off without charges, but he was placed on administrative leave while police investigated the incident.
The case drew some blowback from bar staff members who asserted that Rolfe and his friend were the aggressors and questioned the police department’s decision to arrest their colleague.
After weeks of investigation, authorities recently announced that Rolfe was arrested and charged.
Rolfe grinned in his mug shot, drawing more backlash and claims that he lacked remorse.
“His mugshot says he’ll do it all again lock his ssa up,” one Instagram user wrote. “They dont even care anymore. Smiling in the mugshot,” another person wrote.
X Midtown owner James Nelson released a statement saying he believes Rolfe’s arrest is the “correct decision” and a “step in the right direction.” He also advocated for charges against Penrice to be dropped.
“For us and our community, we would like to see the charges dropped against my employee. We do not believe Officer Rolfe should be policing our streets,” Nelson said. “If the police department’s findings merit criminal charges, we hope he will be prosecuted. Our city stands for so much more than this – we stand for justice, peace and equality – and we can do better. I hope the police department and city leadership will continue doing the right thing.”
Four years ago, Rolfe was arrested and charged with the murder of Rayshard Brooks, who fell asleep in his car at a Wendy’s drive-thru in southwest Atlanta and was fatally shot during an encounter with Rolfe and his partner after both cops tried to arrest him for driving under the influence.
The charges were dropped in August 2022. Rolfe lost his job but was later reinstated after appealing his firing.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Rolfe was reprimanded for his use of force following an incident in 2017. Internal investigations were also conducted into 12 other incidents involving Rolfe, ranging from vehicle accidents to citizens’ complaints. Rolfe was exonerated in nine of them.
Tyler Perry Moves Forward with Entertainment District as Joint Fort McPherson Dream with TD Jakes Hits Roadblock
Tyler Perry is ready to move into the next phase of revitalizing Atlanta’s East Point suburb with his very own entertainment district. The area is already home to his 330-acre studio, located on a portion of what was once the Army’s Fort McPherson base.
The filmmaker purchased an additional 37.5 acres adjacent to his state-of-the-art Tyler Perry Studios in 2022 for $85 million. The proposed mixed-use plans include the development of a park, retail spaces, a theater, parking, and office spaces.
Tyler Perry, T.D. Jakes (Photo by Leon Bennett/FilmMagic; Earl Gibson III/WireImage)In mid-July, Urbanize Atlanta discovered the playwright’s team submitted paperwork requesting the Development of Regional Impact (DRI) review the 1.3 million square foot development plans. According to the outlet, the filing is a maneuver to move the project forward with the least amount of resistance.
Months earlier, in April, it was revealed that the project stalled when fellow investor Bishop T.D. Jakes’ real estate enterprise filed a letter to notify the McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority that further negotiations among partners were needed.
The faith leader purchased 94.5 acres of the land with the intent to provide workforce development and to build affordable apartments, townhomes, and single-family homes, in a seperate deal.
“Our mission remains clear: to build a thriving, equitable Fort McPherson and deliver what is truly needed where it’s needed most,” read, in part, the letter that was submitted four months after Jakes’ proposal to the DRI.
Perry’s revitalization effort has a projected completion date of January 2028. It requires the demolition of nine existing buildings. If both the mogul’s and mega-church leader’s visions come to fruition, Southwest Atlanta would become a major entertainment district much like the current Hollywood of the South hub Town at Trilith in Fayetteville.

The “Madea’ actor has not released a public statement regarding his entertainment district.
But fans online have mixed feelings about his expansion plan. One said, “He has made this promise multiple times in recent years and so far has not delivered. I expect this to be more of the same.”
A second person said, “A friend who works on his sets told me he told the crew to start looking for an exit because AI is coming for their jobs, so I’m skeptical on this.”
“He’s doing too much, we all know what happens when ‘you’ aquire too much.”
A third said, “His content will still be the same stereotypical mess, so what’s to use?
Instead of addressing the speculation, Perry continues to draw in his followers with his latest update on the “Why Did I Get Married?” film series. Fans have often begged the filmmaker to create a third film to follow “Why Did I Get Married Too?”
On July 30, he posted, “I’m just gonna sit this right here!” With a photo of the table draft of “Why Did I Get Married Again?” the rumored third installment.
A fan excitedly remarked, “YESSS! BRING IT ON… BRING THE ORIGINAL CAST BACK TOO!” A person commented, “PUT IT OUT IN THEATRES SO WE CAN ALL LAUGH TOGETHER.” The original cast of stars includes Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Richard T. Jones, Malik Yoba, and Lamman Rucker. The sequel, “Why Did I Get Married Too?” was released in 2010.
‘Looks Like a Redneck Trucker’: Jason Momoa’s Fresh New Look Leaves Fans ‘Crushed’ About His Transformation
Hollywood movie star Jason Momoa, 45, stunned his fans by altering his look.
The “Game of Thrones” actor posted a video of himself shaving off his signature beard ahead of his new movie and people are not happy about it.

I launched @mananalu to help eliminate single-use plastic,” Momoa wrote in his Instagram caption, as part of a social media promotional campaign for the Mananalu bottled water company.
He continued, “Now, we’re taking it even further, partnering with our team at @Getboomerangwater to bring in a closed-loop system that sanitizes and bottles water onsite.”
Momoa also said in the clip that removing his facial hair on camera was part of the “kick-off” for his return as Duncan Idaho in the upcoming “Dune: Part Three” motion picture.
“Only for you, Denis,” Jason said, referring to “Dune” film series director Denis Villeneuve. After checking out his newly hairless face, the native Hawaiian added, “God d-mn it, I hate it.”

Images of Momoa’s bare face spread across the internet on July 30. Like the “Aquaman” actor, a lot of people on the internet were not in favor of him cutting his beard.
“That doesn’t even look like him,” one X user tweeted about the A-list celebrity. In reaction to the missing beard, a second person pleaded, “OMG, put it back.”
Yet another critic of Momoa removing his goatee, declared, “Bro lost all the aura he had left.” Plus, someone on the app joked, “Jason Momoa without the beard?! The sandworms won’t recognize him in Dune 3! If he hates it, you know it’s serious. Bring back the beard, Aquaman!”
Another added, “He looks like a redneck trucker from Oklahoma. I’m crushed.

— Mr Commonsense (@fopminui) July 31, 2025As the online conversation about Momoa’s face racked up thousands of replies, one X account shared a throwback photograph of when he starred in the “Baywatch: Hawaii.”
The former University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa student played Jason Loane on the television drama from 1999-2001 as well as the “Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding” made-for-TV movie in 2003.
“Good looking and handsome then, good looking and gorgeous now,” one person offered in response to the old pic of Momoa.
Following his stint as part of the “Baywatch” franchise, Momoa scored a breakout role as Khal Drogo for two seasons in HBO’s “Game of Thrones” television series. He then parlayed that success on the small screen to lead acting roles on the big screen.

Momoa took on the title character in the 2011 movie version of “Conan the Barbarian.” His filmography includes being a central figure in the DC Extended Universe as Aquaman in 2017’s “Justice League,” 2018’s “Aquaman,” and 2023’s “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”
The first “Dune” film arrived in theaters in 2021. Momoa was cast as the swordmaster Duncan Idaho in the epic space opera based on the 1965 science-fiction novel of the same name. “Dune: Part Three” is scheduled for release in December 2026.
“I’m making a comeback,” Momoa announced in March 2025 about his “Dune” character’s reappearance in the third installment after missing part two. “You heard it first, right here with you, baby.”
According to People, Jason’s 16-year-old son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, will be in “Dune: Part Three” as well. Nakoa-Wolf is the son of the action movie hero and his ex-wife, “The Cosby Show” actress Lisa Bonet. They also share a daughter named Lola Iolani Momoa (born July 2007).
‘Where Was Security?!!’: White Reporter Tries to Trip Up Fani Willis, But She Looks Him Up and Down Then ‘Reads Him for Filth’ — Viewers Say He Got Way Too Comfortable
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis fired back at an Atlanta TV reporter after he asked whether the YSL prosecution had been a waste of taxpayer money, pointing to the lack of murder convictions in the sprawling case.
Video of the tense encounter between Willis and 11Alive reporter Chase Houle after a news conference on June 5 has since gone viral after an Instagram user reposted it last week, with a majority of the voices responding to the post praising the veteran prosecutor for going on offense after Houle’s questioning.
Fulton County DA Fani Willis faces off with reporter. (Credit: IG/BWSTimes Video Screengrab)The reporter faced sharp responses from Willis as he questioned her about recent career moves.
“Could we maybe talk about—you relied heavily on getting those murder convictions in the YSL case, but no one was convicted in this,” Houle asked Willis as she made her way back upstairs. “What’s your message to taxpayers who may say that this was a waste of taxpayer money and their time?”
But Willis was in no mood for media spin, or what she saw as an attempt to hijack the narrative. Instead of addressing taxpayer concerns, the DA complained about media bias—accusing the press of relying on voices who, in her view, are disconnected from the real experiences of the communities most affected by the crimes she’s prosecuting.
“What I want to say to you as a reporter — and I want your other reporters to be responsible — is you keep going to defense attorneys who put their children in private schools, in communities that are not our communities, and really don’t care about the African-American community,” she spoke. “What you need to understand is there were 19 convictions. Seven, I decided to not prosecute, mostly because they were serving life sentences on murder. Just yesterday, Channel 2 and an affiliate covered a YSL murder of a 21-year-old mother in front of her 2-year-old child. Go look at the statistics — crime is down.”
Several people who viewed the video online said they saw Willis look the reporter “up and down” after she heard the question.
As Willis moved through the media gaggle, she defended her track record, pointing to last year’s electoral outcome as evidence of continued public support.
“What my constituents say, who just voted me in with 68 percent of the vote—is she’s doing an amazing job,” Willis stated. “We are making sure that this community is safe, that crime is the lowest here of most places in the United States of America. I think we’re like number three, and it’s because of the efforts I have made against gangs.”
The sweeping prosecution, which centered on Atlanta rapper Young Thug, ended the week of June 9 with the final defendant pleading guilty — closing a historically lengthy trial that began with Willis’s vow to use Georgia’s RICO statute to dismantle the alleged YSL gang.
In 2022, Willis declared the gang’s activity “created violence like Atlanta has never seen” and promised justice for homicide victims like Donovan Thomas. But by last month’s conclusion, no murder convictions were secured, and the final defendant in Thomas’s shooting pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
In hindsight, Willis’s early promises seemed to stand in stark contrast to the final outcome.
Yet, she remained steadfast, pointing to falling crime rates as proof that her strategy worked.
Willis drew a straight line between media bias and the voices the mainstream press tends to spotlight — which she defined as defense attorneys who live in gated communities and send their children to private schools. She argued these figures are generally disconnected from the violence and systemic challenges facing much of Fulton County’s Black community. But in doing so, she sidestepped the reporter’s actual question about taxpayer concerns.
“Stop glorifying violence and stop acting like some victims don’t matter, because victims of all races, of all socioeconomic status, matter. So stop talking to attorneys that don’t live in Fulton at all,” Willis responded, even though the reporter hadn’t mentioned defense attorneys at all. Still, Willis leaned into the strawman. “They live in safe neighborhoods. Their children go to safe schools. My children in these communities — they matter too.”
Ultimately, Willis changed the subject rather than directly address the potential for complaints about potential waste of taxpayer dollars. She tried to move on, but Houle wasn’t satisfied with the answer she gave, even though he was careful not to step out of line with the DA.
“Respectfully, Ms. Willis … as I asked you about the two murder convictions that never came through—what’s your message to taxpayers?”
“And to the taxpayers—my message is, it was an amazing time. We had 19 convictions. The community is safer. We made sure that we got the resolutions we wanted. If they’re unhappy with sentencing, they should elect other judges.”
As Willis kept walking, the question kept coming.
“And you also relied heavily on the RICO law—”
Willis: “That’s right. I had to, and I’m going to continue to rely on it, because it works, it’s effective, and it tells the full matter.”
“But other people may say it wasn’t effective—”
Willis signed off with: “Other people weren’t elected as the DA.”
The internet wasted no time weighing in with pointed jabs and one-liners overwhelmingly aimed at the reporter. Most people took sides with Willis despite her obfuscations. One Instagram post suggested the reporter never had a chance: “If there’s one thing Fulton County, Georgia DA Fani Willis is gonna do, it’s read TF out of you if she feels she’s being treated unfairly.”
View this post on InstagramA post shared by The Black Wall Street Times (@thebwstimes)
Another voice in the comments section needled the reporter for trying Willis. “Tag him… he needs reminding that he got chewed up.”
One person offered a balance take, “Other people weren’t elected DA” She shut that down! There’s plenty of criticism to go around, but to focus on two acquittals versus the 19 convictions is disingenuous at best.”
Someone else believed Houle wouldn’t have that kind of “audacity” with a white DA, “The level of disrespect! He would have never tried to come for a Caucasian DA like this”
Another added, “Why did he feel so comfortable talking to her that way omg”
One even implied Willis was at risk from the reporter’s initial approach, “Baby when he said “it’s about to be tho” WHERE WAS SECURITY to pack his ass up??!!! AINT NO WAY and YES IM TEAM FANI!!!!”
‘They Think It’s Funny?’: Outrage Erupts After Oklahoma Cops Use Gang Slang and Racist Stereotypes to Advertise Blood Drive
A police department in Oklahoma is coming under fire after making controversial posts on social media promoting racial stereotypes about Black people to spread the word about a community blood drive.
The posts were made by the Owasso Police Department in Owasso, Oklahoma, a city roughly 14 miles north of Tulsa.
The agency’s official Facebook account shared two now-deleted posts to publicize a local blood drive on July 30.
A police department in Oklahoma posted controversial images using racial stereotypes to promote a local blood drive, prompting backlash from the community. (Photos: KJRH/Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Facebook page)One of those posts featured the official poster for the event alongside a pair of white hands making the Bloods gang sign. The caption said, “BLUD! Give it up! We need blood to help OBI’s emergency stock. Help us beat the FD in the battle of blood! Stabbed – No. JABBED – Yea,” adding more details about what time and where the event will take place.
Less than two weeks later, the police department took to Facebook again with another post about the drive, which included a screenshot image from the adult comedy satire and cartoon series, “South Park,” that showed a group of Black men wearing red shirts, sweatshirts, and bandanas.
This time, the caption read, “Whut up bluuud! We need it! Owasso Community Blood Drive. We won’t ‘jump you in’, it’s just a little jab.”
The posts triggered backlash across the Owasso and Tulsa communities.
A pastor based in Tulsa took to social media to publicly condemn the posts and the decision to share them, stating that they were “deeply racist, offensive, and utterly disgraceful.”
“Let’s be clear there is no excuse for public servants to perpetuate harmful stereotypes or make light of the pain and injustice that communities of color continue to face every single day,” Pastor Chaz Glover of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church wrote on Facebook. “That post wasn’t a mistake or a joke it was a reminder of the ugly truth: racism is still alive, embedded in systems of power, and still being defended in plain sight. The Owasso Police Department should be ashamed.”
Other community members voiced similar sentiments.
“You’re especially targeting people of color. And you think it’s a funny joke. That’s not. It’s insensitive, disrespectful, and just not classy,” Sultana Xiong told KJRH. “Especially with our mayor being African-American, I would think to some extent there would be some type of public apology and accountability that goes with this.”
After backlash ensued, the police department reportedly posted an apology that they later deleted, stating they “apparently offended a few people,” adding, “apologies if you were offended.”
Days later, the department posted a more formal and lengthier apology from the city of Owasso, stating that the posts don’t “represent the culture and values” of the city or the police agency.
“There will be an investigation into this incident, and accountability will be sought for any employee who violates our standards of conduct, particularly in this matter,” the post reads. We are committed to maintaining a respectful and trusting relationship with our community and will take the necessary steps to ensure this never happens again.”
Community advocate Dr. Tamecca Rogers said the posts chip away at the trust that the police department is supposed to cultivate with the community.
“We have no trust with the police. And once we try to rebuild this trust, and you continue to put images out there and stereotype us and make us feel like that’s how you truly feel about us. We can’t trust you,” Rogers told KOKI. “That’s a public forum for people who are supposed to protect and serve; there’s no way we can trust you when you put out those stereotypical images.”
Our Blood Institute, the organization that partnered with the city of Owasso for the drive, said they had no part in making or sharing the posts.
“Our Blood Institute was not involved in the creation of the social media post promoting the upcoming blood drive with the Owasso Police Department,” the organization wrote in a statement. We remain committed to working with community partners to support the local blood supply and focus on what matters most — saving lives through donation.”
‘It’s Serious When Your Own Daughter Taps Out’: Hulk Hogan’s Daughter Brooke Slammed for Missing WWE Tribute, Her Reason Adds Fuel to the Family Rift
The passing of WWE Hall of Famer Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea has left many with mixed feelings including his daughter, Brooke Hogan.
The professional wrestling world is still reeling after Hulk Hogan passed away at age 71 on July 24, 2025, reportedly from acute myocardial infarction, commonly referred to as a heart attack. However, his daughter is speaking out about not being included in part of special televised tributes for her father.
Brooke Hogan reflects on her strained relationship with her father, controversial WWE superstar Hulk Hogan, after his passing. (Photos: mizzhogan/Instagram)Brooke Hogan, 37, took to social media to address fans who called her out for not appearing on USA’s “Friday Night Smackdown” or Netflix’s “Monday Night Raw” following Hogan’s passing.
WWE honored the eight-time WrestleMania headliner with a 10-bell salute at the top of both of the promotion’s weekly shows on its July 25 and 28 shows. Members of the WWE roster, as well as company executives stood on stage before a tribute video highlighted Hogan’s nearly 50-year wrestling career.
Hogan’s 35-year-old son, Nick Hogan, made his first public appearance on “Monday Night Raw” since losing his dad. His older sister, Brooke, was not present for the memorial presented in the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
“For those of you giving me crap for not attending my dad’s tributes, @wwe did not extend an invite,” Brooke wrote in her Instagram story on July 30 after critics complained about her not attending the WWE events in recent days.
That response came one day after she initially broke her silence on the news of her father being deceased.
The “About Us” singer posted a lengthy statement on her Instagram page as a six-slide carousel. Despite reports of her being estranged from the multi-time world champion, Brooke praised their relationship.
“My dad’s blood runs through my veins. His eyes shine through my children. And our bond has never broken, not even in his final moments,” the mother of five-month-old twins Oliver and Molly wrote. “We had a connection deeper than words, one that spanned lifetimes.”

WWE watchers weighed in on Brooke’s revelation that she was apparently not welcomed to “Raw” or “Smackdown.”
An angered fan asked, “Why the f–k would they invite Nick and not Brooke? What the actual f–k?” A second person on the platform proclaimed, “Very, very bizarre.”
A third individual also seemed confused at her omission, writing, “That’s honestly surprising. Brooke Hogan deserved to be there to honor her father’s legacy.”
Some even believe this was her way of distancing herself from her family, including one person who said, “Well she doesn’t want to be remembered as a Hogan.”
Another claimed, “They knew she wouldn’t have gone anyways.”
However, another Brook supporter offered, “If someone in the company didn’t call to give her the option, that’s pretty low. Family drama or not, she deserved to make that choice.”
View this post on InstagramA post shared by Brooke Oleksy (@mizzhogan)
In her Instagram statement, Brooke reflected on her complex bond with the Hulkster. She acknowledged they had “respectful disagreements that took an emotional toll” which caused her to withdraw from him in the final days of his life.
“The media has been convoluting the narrative and I feel it necessary to clear a few things up. We never had a ‘big fight.’ My father and I never ‘fought,’” Brooke stated before later adding, “During the last two years, I had to step away to protect my heart.”
Brooke went on to express feeling “at peace” knowing her father understood how much she loved him before he passed. She said she moved closer to Hogan in Florida at one point due to his health and has supported him through 25 different surgeries over the years. Although things changed after she gave birth to her twins, she still encouraged people to celebrate Hogan.
However, her husband, former NHL player Steve Oleksy, has still been in contact with her dad over the years. He even defended his wife’s decision to financially separate herself amid reports she asked to have her name removed from Hulk’s will in 2023.
“That money does not represent accomplishments in the ring — the majority of it came at the expense of my wife’s dignity. It was built on hurtful comments about her and her past relationship, which caused pain not only to her, but to many other families,” Oleksy, 39, explained to Us Weekly for a July 30-dated article.
He also told the outlet, “My wife was put in a position to defend someone without knowing the full truth — unaware the remarks were tied to a [intimate] tape and that the context and use of the derogatory language was directed at her and her ex, and conveniently misinformed of the transcripts.”
What some people don't seem to get is that Hogan's words were never misconstrued or anything.
He literally said, "I'm a racist" on tape. I'm gonna guess there are many who've never actually heard this clip.pic.twitter.com/Fh7HE2uBiE
“You know it’s serious when your own daughter taps out before the will drops,” added one critic.
Hogan’s legacy as a public figure became extremely divisive over the past decade after secretly recorded audio of the grappler using the N-word surfaced in July 2015. He was also heard admitting to being disgusted with Brooke dating a Black man at the time.
Backlash forced WWE to remove Hogan from the promotion’s website and Hall of Fame in 2015 before reinstating him three years later after he denied having prejudiced views about non-white people.
“I never should have said what I said. It was wrong. I’m embarrassed by it. But a lot of people need to realize that you inherit things from your environment,” Hogan said in a September 2015 interview with ABC News.
Despite trying to walk back his previously hateful remarks, Hogan still faced significant backlash due to his casual use of the racial slur and his support of MAGA leader Donald Trump.
Hogan’s last appearance on WWE programming was marred by overwhelming negative feedback from the Los Angeles crowd. In January 2025, the live audience inside the Intuit Dome for the Netflix premiere of “Monday Night Raw” booed Hogan out of the building.
As far as his impact on the wrestling business, Hogan is credited as the main driving force that elevated the WWE (then known as the WWF) from a regional promotion in the 1980s to a global phenomenon. He also helped lift the WWF’s main rival, WCW, to the No. 1 wrestling company in the world by 1996.
‘I Did Not Commit a Crime’: Vindictive New York Police Officer Violently Arrests Black Man for Tapping His Horn at Green Light After Cop Failed to Proceed
A vindictive upstate New York cop violently arrested a Black man last year for tapping his horn at him after the cop failed to proceed when the traffic light turned green.
Troy police officer Taylor Gamache charged the man with unlawful use of a horn, obstruction of governmental administration, and resisting arrest – retaliatory charges that were all dismissed.
Earlier this month, Matthew N. Edwards filed a lawsuit against the condescending cop, accusing him of assault, battery, false arrest, malicious prosecution, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violating several of his constitutional rights.
Troy police officer Taylor Gamache, left, is being sued by Matthew Edwards, right, for arresting him in retaliation for tapping the horn at him after a traffic light had turned green. (Photo: City of Troy)Body camera video of the arrest, posted below, shows Gamache also towed Edwards’ car for parking more than 12 inches from the curb in front of his home.
But Edwards had parked that way because a pair of garbage cans were blocking his parking space when he pulled up, so he stepped out of the car to move the garbage cans to the side of his house in order to park properly.
But Gamache never gave him a chance, insisting on arresting him for daring to toot the horn at him as he sat at the light distracted, perhaps texting, which is against the law in New York.
According to the lawsuit filed on July 3 by Troy-based attorney Arthur R. Frost:
As a result of Defendant Gamache’ actions as described above, Plaintiff sustained great bodily injury so that he became sick, sore, lame, wounded, disabled, disordered, embarrassed, emotionally distraught and disfigured and will so remain permanently; has been and will be prevented from attending to his usual duties; has suffered lost lifetime earnings; incurred expenses for, among other things, care and treatment; has and continues to suffer pain; that Plaintiff has been injured permanently externally, internally and otherwise, all to his damage.
Retaliatory ArrestThe incident took place on July 19, 2024, when Gamache was in his patrol car at an intersection waiting for a red light to turn green.
Edwards was in the car behind him on his way home from work and tooted his horn to alert the cop the light was green which is not against the law
But Gamache, after turning left through the intersection and noticing Edwards continued straight through it, apparently circled the neighborhood to find Edwards already parked at home to retaliate against him for tooting his horn at him.
“This is harassment,” said Edwards after Gamache had pulled up in front of his home.
“Do you know what is harassment?” responded the gaslighting cop. “It is not harassment.”
“I did not commit a crime,” Edwards insisted, repeatedly asking Gamache to send a supervisor to the scene, which the cop refused to do.
Instead, the cop called for backup, and a Rensselaer County sheriff’s deputy arrived to help Gamache arrest Edwards.
They then arrested a Black woman, who appeared to be Edwards’ partner, for trying to retrieve items from his car before they towed it.
The video shows Edwards was very angry over the unlawful arrest telling the cop that he was a taxpayer and that “you are working for me.”
“That’s not how it works,” Gamache responded.
Gamache was hired in 2021, according to a Facebook post by the city of Troy, which included a link to a video of the swearing in ceremony where he swore to uphold the constitution.
“You are not just starting a new job, you are answering a calling, a calling to serve,” said William Patrick Madden, who was mayor of Troy at the time.
“Today you will join a police department that ranks among the best.”
However, that same year, the Troy Police Department was sued by the New York Civil Liberties Union for refusing to release misconduct records of its officers.
“Troy residents have the right to know the substance and volume of complaints made against their officers, and the Troy Police Department cannot remain steadfast in ignoring requests for misconduct records made on behalf of the constituents they have sworn to protect and serve,” said Melanie Trimble, capital region chapter director at the NYCLU.
“No police department can shirk their responsibility to be transparent any longer. We will fight resistance to accountability wherever we see it and continue working to end the secrecy shrouding evidence of police misconduct across New York state.”
The Civil Rights Lawyer, a police accountability channel on YouTube run by West Virginia attorney John H. Bryan, posted the video on his page with his analysis.
“We all know that Matthew did not commit a honking crime,” he said in his YouTube video about the case.
“Gamache knew that,” Bryan continued. “Matthew knew that. The witnesses knew that. The judge who dismissed the criminal charges knew that. And you damn sure know that the leadership at the Troy Police Department knows that. You know the mayor knows that.”
‘Underrated and Unappreciated’: Eddie Murphy Drops ‘Hasta La Vista’ Jab at Arnold Schwarzenegger After Claiming He’s the Reason for His Fame
Hollywood legend Eddie Murphy, 64, is proclaiming himself as the king of the action comedy genre.
Following his rise to prominence on the “Saturday Night Live” variety television show in the early 1980s, Murphy jumped to the silver screen for movies like 1982’s “48 Hrs.,” 1984’s “Beverly Hills Cop,” and 1988’s “Coming to America.”
Over 40 years later, Murphy plays the lead role in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming “The Pickup” motion picture alongside Keke Palmer (“Nope”) and Pete Davidson (“Saturday Night Live”).
Murphy recently sat down with longtime “The Today Show” correspondent Al Roker to discuss his latest work and to reflect on the 2023 Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient’s legendary film career.
Legendary comedian Eddie Murphy claims his action-comedy films opened doors for fellow movie industry icon Arnold Schwarzenegger. (Photos by Emma McIntyre/Getty Images for Netflix; Sean Gallup/Getty Images)“It’s pretentious to actually say it, but my films kind of pioneered … ‘48 Hrs.’ is the first action comedy. And ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ was the second one,” Murphy told a laughing Roker, in the “Today” segment that aired on July 28.
The Brooklyn-born comedian then referenced fellow 1980s movie megastar Arnold Schwarzenegger by adding, “And then after ‘Beverly Hills Cop,” everybody, all the cops were like, ‘Hasta la vista, baby.’”
Schwarzenegger, 77, famously uttered the line “hasta la vista, baby” during his portrayal of the iconic titular character from the 1991 science-fiction classic “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.”
Murphy’s bold proclamation that his breakout role during the President Ronald Regan era opened the door for future movies to meld action with comedy sparked reactions online.

One supporter wrote, “Pretentious??? He is so underrated and unappreciated.” In contrast, one detractor asserted, “It’s not pretentious, Eddie. It’s flat out wrong.”
A fourth person appreciated him staking his claim as a movie pioneer, by commenting, “It’s about time Eddie started saying who and what he has meant to the game.”
One TikTok user presented pushback, writing, “He means action comedy ‘cop’ movie, [because] if not then I disagree.” However, someone replied, “[‘48 Hrs’] was literally the first insanely successful action comedy of its kind.”
Another individual pointed out, “‘T2’ isn’t an action comedy or a cop movie.”

Schwarzenegger was more well known for starring in straightforward action movies like “Conan the Barbarian” in 1982, “The Terminator” in 1984, “Predator” in 1987, “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” in 1991, and “The Expendables” in 2010.
The former governor of California delved into comedy with films like 1988’s “Twins” with Danny DeVito and 1990’s “Kindergarten Cop.” In 1993, Schwarzenegger embraced fantasy action comedy with “Last Action Hero.”
While Schwarzenegger and Murphy both dominated the 1980s box office in America, neither man acted together in a feature film. Murphy did admit Schwarzenegger provided inspiration for “Coming 2 America” — the sequel to one of his most cherished movies.
“You know what happened, I was watching one of those ‘Terminator’ movies with Schwarzenegger, and they used the special effect where they made him really young,” the “Party All the Time” singer explained to Yahoo in 2021.
Likely referring to 2015’s “Terminator: Genisys” sci-fi flick, Murphy also said, “I was like, ‘If they did that, we could do a scene where we’re young’ … and that was the piece that made it all sort of fall into place.”

Murphy’s stint as one of the biggest movie stars in the world began in the 1980s and continued into the next decade. His filmography also contains films such as 1992’s “Boomerang,” 1996’s “The Nutty Professor,” and 1998’s “Dr. Dolittle.”
After the turn of the millennium, Murphy became a central part of the highly-successful “Shrek” movie franchise by providing the voice for the animated Donkey character. He earned a Oscar nod for his turn in 2006’s “Dreamgirls.”
Murphy’s latest acting work takes place in the Tim Story-directed “The Pickup,” which premieres on August 6 on Amazon Prime Video. The father of ten children admitted he changed his approach to playing an action star in his 60s.
“I’m trying to do age-appropriate action,” Murphy stated in his interview with the 70-year-old Roker. “When you get our age, you have to pay. If you whip somebody’s ass, when you’re our age, you kind of whip your own ass, too.”
Murphy also confirmed he will be starring as George Clinton in a biopic about the Parliament-Funkadelic band frontman and as Inspector Clouseau in a new “Pink Panther” movie. “Shrek 5” is in the works as well.
Over the last 10 years Schwarzenegger appeared in “Terminator Genisys,” “Aftermath,” “Killing Gunther,” and “Terminator: Dark Fate.” The Austrian American has taken his talents to the small screen by leading Netflix’s “FUBAR” action-comedy television series for two seasons beginning in 2023.
‘I’ll… Hang Your A–!’: White Residents Threaten and Hurl Racist Insults at Black Project Manager After He Knocked on Their Door to Inform Them About Upcoming Neighborhood Utility Upgrades
A Black Florida man says he is afraid to return to work after a white man threatened to hang him during a racist tirade.
Project manager Antavis Johnson said he was “just doing his job” this week when he knocked on a couple’s door near Orlando, Florida, where he was chased and assailed with racial slurs and violent threats.
Video screenshots show a Florida couple harassing a Black man. (Photos: TikTok/3busted_mindjizzz)He was going door-to-door to give residents handouts about the upcoming utility upgrades in the neighborhood he would be overseeing. But when he knocked on his last door for the day, he was met with displeasure.
“The wife opened it, and I could tell immediately she was upset. I politely said, ‘I’m so sorry if this isn’t a good time,’” Johnson recalled.
Johnson said the woman called her husband, who came running out of the house and demanded that he leave the property.
“Before I could even step off their porch, he started screaming the N-word at me, yelling, ‘Get off my property! Get out of my neighborhood!’” said Johnson, who recorded the confrontation.
Johnson posted the video on his TikTok page with background music. Even though Johnson walks away from the property, the couple follows him down the street.
“Oh, he said he’s recording,” the white woman is heard saying.

“I was terrified for my life. I have a 4-year-old daughter to take care of, and since this happened, I haven’t been able to bring myself to go back to work,” Johnson said. “That fear lives in me now. I never imagined I would be threatened and attacked with hate just for doing my job.”
‘Weird Thing to Post About Your Dad’: Donald Trump Jr. Sparks Outrage with Cringe Post Linking Dad Donald Trump to Sydney Sweeney Amid Backlash
Donald Trump Jr. is not outraged by the controversy surrounding American Eagle’s denim campaign with actress Sydney Sweeney.
The “Euphoria” cast member is on the receiving end of backlash for a commercial promoting the brand’s denim wear with its overtly suggestive tone and cheeky wordplay on jeans and genes.
A huge point of contention with the advertisement is anchored in critics’ belief that it is pro-eugenics, a theory that desirable traits, such as blue eyes and blond hair, could be scientifically bred for the betterment of the human race. Though none of that discourse appears to matter to Don Jr.

(Photos by Andrew Harnik/Getty Images; sydney_sweeney/Instagram)Instead, the 47-year-old seemingly embraced it and found a way to make it about his father, Donald Trump, in a bizarre Instagram post. The image shared on July 29 showed the president in a “Canadian tuxedo,” a denim jacket and jeans, as he posed on the ground with one leg propped open.
“That Hanse…. Um, Donald is so hot right now!!!” his son wrote as the caption. Comments were limited, but that did not deter social discourse about the “disturbing” photo. For starters, multiple people shared the sentiment that his comment was a “weird thing to post about your dad.” A second displeased viewer wrote that it was “just so creepy; the image and don jr response.”
A third individual wrote, “This idiot is so incredibly repulsive! Don’t nobody wanna see that!”

The AI image was originally shared by satire IG account 300 Guns. Don Jr. also tagged them in his repost. Similarly, a fake photo of JD Vance in a double-denim outfit was also uploaded along with multiple posts in support of Sweeney.
American Eagle has not issued a public apology despite several posts suggesting so.
Ashley Schapiro, vice president of marketing, wrote on LinkedIn, “The star power of Sydney and the double meaning behind the campaign has a culture shaping power beyond anything I could have ever imagined being a part of- just check your social feeds.”
Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle campaign is receiving criticism for a “jeans/genes” pun that some say echoes eugenics and white supremacy rhetoric.

A deeper dive into the social banter about “Hanse-Trump,” a commenter remarked, “I prefer the South Park version.”
The political figure was depicted in the season 27 premiere, “Sermon on the Mount,” of the long-running adult-cartoon series. Also parodied in the “South Park” episode as White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
American Eagle’s controversy has endeared MAGA to support them, however, the same has not been true for “South Park” fans, who have expressed furor.
‘I’m Sorry. This Was Never You’: Black Man Wrongly Arrested and Jailed for a Month To Get $550K from Rhode Island Town, While ‘Overzealous’ Officer Responsible Is Punished
The City of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, will pay $550,000 to settle a lawsuit by a homeless Black man falsely arrested and jailed for 31 days for crimes he didn’t commit.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Rhode Island last week announced the settlement on behalf of Woonsocket resident Mack Blackie, who was twice arrested and detained for breaking and entering into an apartment on the strength of police reports and arrest warrants that his lawyers say purposely misidentified him.
His jail stay was protracted due his inability to afford the $100 cash bond on a $1,000 bail fee.
In August 2022, the Woonsocket apartment of William Grover and Veronica Higbie was broken into. Grover told an investigating police officer that the individual who had entered his home was known to him as “Black,” and that if he saw him again he’d be able to identify him, according to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Rhode Island in October 2024 and obtained by Atlanta Black Star.
A week later, then-Detective Timothy Hammond, a 15-year veteran of the Woonsocket Police, followed up, asking Grover multiple times if Mack Blackie was the perpetrator. Grover — who knew both “Black” and Blackie from the neighborhood — explicitly stated it was not Blackie, a Liberian, and described the differences in physical characteristics between the two men.
Blackie is shorter, huskier, and has better teeth than Black, Grover told the officer, according to the complaint.
Officer Hammond then failed to schedule a promised photo line-up so Grover would be able to definitively identify “Black,” the lawsuit says.
Instead, Hammond falsely wrote in his witness statement that “Grover positively identified the suspect male as being Mack Blackie,” the complaint says. He also later falsely stated in his application for an arrest warrant that Grover told another Woonsocket police officer that Blackie broke into the apartment.
Blackie, a Liberian immigrant who had fallen on hard times during the pandemic after losing his job working on a delivery truck for a food distributor, was on his way get a free meal at a city park when he was arrested, reported The Public’s Radio in Rhode Island. He was arrested on Aug. 30, 2022, held in the city police station overnight, and the next morning was taken to court, where he collapsed due to complications from alcohol withdrawal.
After being hospitalized for several days, he was released, got sober and began looking for work and a permanent place to live. A few months later, he was rearrested and charged with felony breaking and entering and assault based on the same August 2022 incident. Officer Hammond still had not shown Grover or Higbie a photo of the man he had arrested for breaking into their apartment, the lawsuit says.
Because Blackie was on probation at the time, he was incarcerated for 18 days without bail as a probation violator. When bail was finally set, he could not afford the $100 cash required for release, resulting in his continued incarceration for an extra 13 days, until an employee of a nonprofit organization serving food-insecure people where he volunteered, The Milagros Project, posted the money for his bail.
In February 2023, at a pretrial conference for the criminal case, Grover and Higbie saw Blackie in the courthouse hallway. They immediately realized that Woonsocket police had arrested the wrong man.
“That’s not him,” Higbie said after spotting Blackie, then turned to him and said, “I am so sorry, honey. I am so sorry. This was never you.”
The couple informed the prosecutor, and the charges against Blackie were dropped the same day.
Mack Blackie, left, spent 31 days in jail on false charges after Woonsocket police officer Timothy Hammond had him falsely arrested (Photos from Facebook)Hammond was later suspended for 10 days and demoted to patrol officer for “fail[ing] to follow standard investigative procedures,” Woonsocket police said in a previous statement, while telling WPRI that Hammond “accepted responsibility for his actions” and remains active on the force.
The lawsuit filed against Hammond and the City of Woonsocket argued that the actions taken against Blackie violated his constitutional right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures, and constituted false arrest and imprisonment and malicious prosecution.
It sought a jury trial to compensate him for loss of liberty, pain and suffering, emotional distress, financial harm, and legal expenses. The suit was filed by ACLU of Rhode Island cooperating attorneys Joshua Xavier and Chloe Davis.
According to the release he signed as part of the settlement (not yet approved by the federal district judge) Blackie will receive $ $465,425 and his attorneys will receive $84,575.
“I am grateful and thankful to God for making everything successful and am happy and glad justice has been done,” Blackie, 37, said in the ACLU statement announcing the settlement.
Joshua Xavier, an attorney with the ACLU who represented Blackie, told WPRI his client plans to use the money to secure stable housing, buy a car, and start a college fund for his 14-year-old daughter.
Blackie has been sober for three years and now buses tables at an Olive Garden restaurant, reported The Public’s Radio. He is currently sleeping on a friend’s couch.
“I’ve gotten the chance to get to know [Blackie] over the course of the past two years. He is a really decent human being,” Xavier said. “He’s a great father and what happened to him is nothing less than tragic.”
The city of Woonsocket denied that it or Hammond violated Blackie’s constitutional rights in its answer to his lawsuit, and now admits no liability regarding the arrest or treatment of Blackie in the settlement. The release states that “payments and settlements in compromise are made to terminate further controversy respecting all claims for damages heretofore asserted or that may be asserted by [Blackie] because of said incident.”
Woonsocket Public Safety Director Eugene Jalette told Atlanta Black Star that Officer Hammond “acknowledged his mistake and was accountable for it,” and accepted his demotion in 2023 “without dragging out the process.”
He said the internal investigation indicated that Hammond was “maybe just overzealous,” noting that “detectives have an extremely big caseload” and “we had another victim of a crime, of a house break” at the time of Blackie’s arrest “and he thought he had the right person. Obviously he didn’t.”
“Unfortunately, Mr. Blackie spent some time in jail, and what we pride ourselves on is not making these types of mistakes, and we definitely have to avoid that in the future. We have policy and procedures in place that we feel confident that if followed, this would have never happened,” he added.
“We’re awful apologetic to the family, the Woonsocket police officers here, and to our community that we serve,” Jalette said. “It’s very unfortunate, and hopefully, he can have a brighter future.” Noting that Blackie told reporters he would spend some of the settlement funds on his daughter’s education, he said, “I’m not saying this episode will make it better, but hopefully, he can find some help and some healing and some closure with what we what he went through with the police department.”
‘Does Not Depict the Entire Incident.’: Cincinnati Police Chief Pushes Back After Viral Brawl Video Becomes MAGA Racial Flashpoint Online Who Accuse ‘Black Mob’ of Attacking White People
The Cincinnati police chief says viral videos of a downtown brawl involving several people have been taken out of context on social media, where they spread like wildfire among right-wing accounts and became a flashpoint for racial rhetoric.
The fight that took place in the early morning hours of July 26, shortly after a Cincinnati Reds baseball game and a music festival that drew more than 150,000 people to the downtown area.
Police were called to the scene at 3:06 a.m. and arrived at 3:12 a.m. to find the violence had ended and most of the participants had cleared out of the area, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
A video screenshot shoes a man on the ground after being hit by numerous people. (Photos: Facebook/Signal99)The now-viral cellphone footage that captured the fight showed several people repeatedly punching, kicking, and stomping a man.
In the moments before the violence erupted, one clip shows a man slapping another man, who is Black, in the face, setting off the altercation in which some people began swarming the man who threw the first blow.
In another video, a woman is seen trying to intervene and break up the fight, but she’s knocked unconscious to the ground, and blood is seen spilling from her mouth.
Other videos show the altercation initially taking place between two men. When bystanders intervene to separate them, one man is seen slapping the other, setting off the brawl.
It’s unclear what the parties involved were arguing about before the altercation escalated to a full-blown fight.
However, right-wing groups and elected officials have shared and politicized clips and images of the fight, attributing the violence to race, according to reports.
In the videos, the man seen landing the first hit is white, and the person he struck is Black, and most of the people involved in the brawl are also Black.
The video first made waves on the Signal99 Facebook page, an anonymous account that focuses on law enforcement in Cincinnati. A couple of hours later, Cincinnati mayoral candidate Cory Bowman, who is also Vice President JD Vance’s half-brother, shared the video and blamed the “incompetence” in the city’s leadership for the increase in violence in the city.
Soon after, several right-wing social media pages and politicians started labeling the Black individuals as a “mob” of “thugs” who beat up a white couple.
End Wokeness, a right-wing X account, shared the video with the caption, “A white couple was brutally beaten at a jazz festival by a black ‘teen mob’ in Cincinnati yesterday.”
Libs of TikTok, another conservative X account, also wrote: “HORRIFIC: White couple brutally beaten by black mob in Cincinnati with the woman being slammed to the concrete ground.”
Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and the founder of Turning Point USA, wrote to his 5 million followers, “Arrest all the thugs who attacked whites for federal hate crimes.”
His post included a video clip of Vice President Vance’s remarks on the fight in which he said that he saw a “mob of lawless thugs beating up on an innocent person.”
Even tech magnate Elon Musk, the owner of X, posted the video on his profile, although he did not mention race. He wrote, “That guy almost killed this woman. Aggravated assault.”
Cincinnati Police Chief Theresa Theetge weighed in on the social media rhetoric, stating that the narratives that have surfaced lack context and have made it more complicated for her department to investigate the matter.
She continued: “I think the irresponsibility with social media is that it just shows one side of the equation quite frequently, without context, without factual context, and then people run with that, and then it grows legs and it becomes something bigger that we then have to try to manage as part of the investigation.”
Police have charged five people so far and anticipate further arrests. The identities of the individuals taken into custody have not yet been released.
Theetge said that out of roughly 100 people who witnessed the fight, only one person called police. She said the fight was “a sudden dispute between individuals following a verbal altercation,” but did not say what exactly caused the altercation.
Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval also clarified that the fight wasn’t connected to any of the events happening in the downtown area over the weekend.
‘You Keep Driving in Front of My House!’: White Man Stops and Interrogates Black Father Circling Georgia Gated Community to Help His Toddler Fall Asleep, Video Shows
A Black father and veteran drove around his former neighborhood on a military base to get his 1-year-old daughter to sleep, only to find himself blocked by a white man demanding to know what he was doing there, a video shows.
“You keep driving in front of my house for some reason or another, and I would like to know why… It’s weird,” said the man who stepped into the middle of the road in just his socks to block the driver at Fort Hunter in Savannah, Georgia.
A video screenshot shows a man confronting a driver who is recording. (Photos: TikTok/Snackbandits)He was later identified as a Sergeant First Class. He ominously added that “where I’m from,” those who circle the block are people who were “about to get shot or you’re looking for somebody to mess with.”
Jarrell H. Patton, the father recording the encounter, pushed back on the man’s outrageous entitlement. “Sir, what? This is not GTA. This is not Call of Duty,” he later said in a video recap of the incident, noting the military base is gated and requires valid identification for entry.
He stood his ground in the moment as well. “Is it any of your business?” I’m driving around the whole block. How am I just driving in front of your house?” he shot back, turning the tables on the man by peppering him with questions. “What’s weird about me driving around?”
@snackbandits “I couldn’t make this up if I tried. Does anyone know who this is? This happened on a military base — Fort Hunter in Savannah, Georgia.” #drivingwhileblack #racism ♬ original sound – Snackbandits ®️“You want to literally come in the middle of the road, and stop my car, and you have no idea what I’m doing. ’Cause I’m just driving around the block. Do you own this block?” the increasingly distraught father asked. The resident said he owned a nearby house, in a meek attempt to justify his actions, and then insisted on taking a photo of the man’s license plate.
“Being a concerned neighbor doesn’t give you the right to question people like you’re the law enforcement,” Patton stated in the follow-up video, where he clarified that he was not speeding or making stops; he was doing what so many parents have done before: driving around to get a baby to sleep.
“I didn’t respond with yelling. I responded with boundaries because I don’t owe anyone any explanation for peacefully driving my baby around on a public street. That’s not suspicious. That’s parenting,” he said.
Despite not needing to explain himself to a stranger, Patton did stop the car briefly before leaving to tell the “nosy” resident exactly why he was circling.
“I really knew you were going to do some sh*t. But it’s all right, I’ll be right back. I’m going to go put my daughter away, and we can have a man-to-man talk,” he said.
Patton moved out of the housing complex seven months ago and confirmed that he went back for that “man-to-man” talk, but it seems there’s still some animosity between the two, as Patton addressed him sternly in his video:
“I hope this reaches your command team because you’re an absolutely disgusting person for what you did. You profiled me.”
‘Sudden Mysterious Illness?’: CNN Drops 19-Second Clip of Pam Bondi That’s Fueling Claims Trump’s Name Was ‘Erased’ from Files As She Cancels Event and Vanishes from Public View
Where is President Donald Trump’s Attorney General Pam Bondi? She seems to have disappeared amid the ongoing fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
Bondi cancelled a speech on July 23 at a prominent anti-trafficking summit, CPAC’s Summit Against Human Trafficking in Washington, citing “a recently torn cornea.” She hasn’t been seen publicly since then.

(Credit: CNN/Aaron Rupar video screengrab)The speech cancellation came amid headlines dominated by Trump’s relationship with the disgraced financier and child sex-trafficker, and as calls to release the Epstein files have grown steadily louder.
Earlier this month the Justice Department said it had closed the case on Epstein, after Trump and many in his inner circle spent years stoking conspiracy theories around Epstein’s death in jail, allegedly by suicide in 2019, and about his purported “client list.”
Trump’s supporters went wild after the announcement, attacking Trump and his administration for what they saw as a betrayal and the backtracking on the campaign promise to release the files.
News reports surfaced this month alleging Bondi had told Trump twice in May that his name was in the Epstein files and that that was part of the decision to close the case.
Trump had a well-known relationship with Epstein until the early 2000s but has denied he was involved with any of Epstein’s criminal enterprises or that he was ever on Epstein’s planes. A lie that has since been disproven.
Then CNN put together a bombshell video showing all the times Bondi has publicly spoken about her support for releasing the Epstein files before doing a 180.
The 19-second clip shows several of her media appearances earlier this year.
CNN put together a supercut of Pam Bondi being for releasing Epstein files before she suddenly turned against it pic.twitter.com/iqTBMN14SR
— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) July 27, 2025“What you’re going to see, hopefully tomorrow, is um a lot of flight logs, a lot of names,” she said during an interview on Fox News.
“Everything’s going to come out to the public. The public has a right to know. Americans have a right to know,” she stated in another interview on Fox.
“There are tens of thousands of videos of Epstein with children,” she said during remarks to reporters at the White House.
Just 90 minutes before Wall Street Journal released breaking news alleging Bondi informed Trump he appeared in the files, Acting Assistant Attorney General Matthew Galeotti read a statement from Bondi announcing her absence from the CPAC event.
“I’m sorry to miss all of my CPAC friends today. Unfortunately, I am recovering from a recently torn cornea, which is preventing me from being with you. I truly wish I was able to join you and support all of the work being done on this critical issue.”
The timing could not have been worse.
Threads user Mary Teresa Wright was more than suspicious, noting, “Where is Bondi hiding? Torn cornea would be a couple days rest. Most heal in a couple of days but she seems to be MIA. Where did they put her? Did they disappear her? Blanche met with Maxwell instead of her. Torn cornea not the reason.”
“What’s her sudden mysterious illness?”, inquired another.
A few others had some laughs at Bondi’s expense, “What TF did Pam Bondi see in the Epstein files that tore a hole in her cornea?” Another wrote, “Oh my. Pam will have to stay in hiding lol”
Another user posted a hilarious graphic of Bondi pulling a hood off someone tied up, with the words, “People on the Epstein List. Let’s see who this really is.” When she yanks the hood off, it’s Trump. She says, “Oops. There is no list” as she places the hood back over Trump’s head.
The Epstein scandal is just getting worse no matter how hard Trump tries to make it go away.
Now speculation on social media is suggesting Bondi may have even erased Trump’s name from Epstein’s flight logs. The convicted pedophile had private planes, often called the “Lolita Express,” he used to transport the rich and famous to his various properties in New Mexico, the Caribbean and France.
A few of the notable high-profile passengers include former President Bill Clinton, Britain’s Prince Andrew, actor Kevin Spacey, supermodel Naomi Campbell and of course his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.
“They ERASED Trump’s name…that’s why he’s saying “I was never on his plane”. HIS NAME WAS ERASED!!!” social media poster Pam Shell Williams said on Threads, creating a wave of reaction after the allegation.
While it’s not confirmed whether Trump visited Epstein Island, it has been confirmed that he’s in fact flown on Epstein’s planes on more than one occasion.
According to flight logs, Trump flew on Epstein’s planes at least eight times between 1993 and 1997 with “most of the time to and from the airport in Teterboro, New Jersey, where Epstein was arrested on sex trafficking charges in July 2019,” reported The Palm Beach Post.
Social media continues to call Bondi and the Trump administration to task, “How many times she said everything will come out! And then blank, orchestring to hide because Trump is all over the place in those files!”
And this observation in referring to House Speaker Mike Johnson dismissing lawmakers last week for an early summer break to avoid a vote on whether to release the files.
“Republican members of Congress know all the details, instead of standing up for American children; they ran away and shut down the people’s house,” Threads user Jane White said bluntly.
