‘Could Barely Make it Up’: Donald Trump’s Wobbly Walk Reportedly Prompts Staircase Safety Measures to Stop Another Tumble

Mon, 08/18/2025 - 11:31

What’s going on with President Donald Trump?

Social media lit up after users noticed step-by-step instructions seemingly added to Air Force One’s stairs to help the 79-year-old politician board safely.

Video on social media showed the president carefully climbing the steps after meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, on Aug. 15. But it wasn’t just his cautious pace — it was the bold “Watch Your Step” messaging on the stairs that had folks asking if the aircraft had gotten a quiet upgrade.

When the footage was posted to One America News’ Instagram page, it showed a split-screen pointing out Trump’s measured climb up his own aircraft’s stairs. Many were quick to weigh in on the apparent safety modifications.

“Trump needs instructions on the stairs,” one observer noted, while another pointed out the disparity: “See how they put ‘watch your steps’ on our president’s plane.”

Another observer noticed, “President … could barely make it up. He was holding that rail tight to make sure he didn’t fall again.”

The safety measures came months after Trump appeared to stumble while climbing Air Force One’s stairs in June, an incident that quickly went viral and drew millions of views across social platforms.

The responsibility for Air Force One’s operations, including its integrated stairway systems, falls under the U.S. Air Force’s 89th Airlift Wing, operating from Joint Base Andrews in Maryland as part of Air Mobility Command.

According to the official Air Force website, the VC-25A aircraft features front and rear built-in air-stairs that are maintained and operated by the Presidential Airlift Group, a component of the White House Military Office. The Air Force ensures stair deployment, safety protocols, and maintenance in coordination with the Secret Service and other security authorities, meaning any modifications to the aircraft would require military approval and oversight.

The stair situation has taken on particular irony, given Trump’s previous criticism of his predecessor’s mobility challenges.

“What world leaders look like after 4 years of stumbling bumbling Biden,” added one critic.

Another said, “The better he holds himself or he’d do a Biden, he’s looking sooooo old and tired.”

When Joe Biden, now 82, fell while climbing Air Force One’s steps on March 19, 2021, Trump and his campaign allies repeatedly used that footage in political advertisements with titles like “Jugular” and “Not A Young Guy,” questioning Biden’s fitness for office.

According to The Independent, Trump criticized media coverage of Biden’s tumble, calling it “terrible” and claiming it “wasn’t really one, it was three” falls that went largely unreported by mainstream outlets.

“That tumble was terrible. It wasn’t really one, it was three, and it wasn’t mentioned for the most part in the lamestream,” Trump previously stated, linking Biden’s stumble to broader claims about media bias and his inability to govern the nation.

The irony wasn’t lost on the president’s critics, with one user writing: “If it was Biden walking up the steps you republicans would’ve gone crazy. Oh my god… Well Old man Trump can’t climb stairs without a railing.”

Beyond stair navigation, Trump has faced growing scrutiny about his energy levels and alertness during public appearances.

Trump walking up the stairs has prompted online discussions about the physical demands of the presidency and whether age-related fatigue factors into Trump’s public schedule.

One social media user offered a practical solution: “Why don’t they make an escalator for presidents? A very slow one where only you have climb one step at the top.”

Another took a more direct approach: “Trump is tired and is not in shape then needs to show signs for a long time so he feels powerful and lastly needs a grip on the wall to not trip!”

The Air Force One stair modifications, whether permanent or temporary, represent a pragmatic approach to presidential safety that transcends political considerations.

As the oldest person to ever take the presidential oath, he’s juggling a demanding schedule where he has to travel, and people are always watching. With this in mind, the White House is paying closer attention to one detail that matters for both optics and safety: preventing falls and not looking weak.

The concern underscores not just the physical realities of Trump’s aging, but also the high stakes of preserving face on the world stage.

‘Keeps Losing’: Court Blocks Trump’s Attempt to Get Taxpayers to Foot His $83M Legal Bill to E. Jean Carroll for Defamation and MAGA Is Furious

Mon, 08/18/2025 - 10:00

President Donald Trump wanted American taxpayers to foot a legal bill after his massive jury award in the Jean E. Carroll defamation case. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit handed Trump a huge loss in June when it rejected his effort to get the public to pay for his appeal of the $83 million judgment.

Now the court is explaining its decision.

Back in June, the three-judge panel denied Trump’s appeal under the Westfall Act of 1988, which protects federal employees from a type of tort lawsuit or civilian suit “while engaged in their duties for the government, while giving private citizens a route to seek damage from the government for violations.”

Trump and the Justice Department argued that when Trump denied Carroll’s allegations of sexual assault in a written statement and in comments on the lawn of the White House in 2019, which formed the foundation of her case, they should have been covered by the Westfall Act because he was acting within the scope of his job as President.

Carroll opposed the motion, and the Appeals Court rejected Trump’s argument in June, now detailing its decision in a 23-page opinion.

JD Vance Is Mercilessly Dragged While on Extravagant Family Vacation In the UK That Forced Villages Into ‘Lockdown’

“To hear the court tell it, the Westfall Act itself ‘statutorily’ bars the claims because they were filed after trial, Trump and the government ‘both waived their rights’ by filing for such relief at the wrong time, and ‘in any event, principles of equity warrant denying the belated motion’ and affirming Carroll’s victory against Trump himself,” Law and Crime reported.

The Court wrote: “Specifically, we conclude that the motion is statutorily barred by the text of the Westfall Act, that both Trump and the government waived any right to now move for substitution by failing to timely petition the District Court, and that, in any event, principles of equity warrant denying the belated motion.”

The 81-year-old Carroll celebrated the decision in a post on X Tuesday, “Just a reminder: Trump keeps losing to an old woman.”

Let's not be hasty and wait for the Supreme Court to review the entire case from start to finish.

Of course, you can’t avoid the trolls, but Carroll took it in stride.

“You still haven’t gotten a penny from him lmao,” MAGA social media influencer Scott Fishman said in a responding post

“But! I won both cases. He keeps losing his appeals. And I will beat him in the end,” Carroll said in gleeful delight.

Another MAGA troll suggested that she better just hold her horses because Trump will follow his playbook and appeal the case all the way to the high court. “Let’s not be hasty and wait for the Supreme Court to review the entire case from start to finish.

Carroll’s reply was epic. “Dude, I don’t think the Supreme Court is EAGER to review a case about the President —a man found liable for sexual abuse by two juries, credibly accused of sexual assault by 23 women, and who is currently trying to cover up his wild nights with Epstein.”

A jury found Trump liable for defamation and sexual abuse of E. Jean Carroll in 2023. She was awarded $5 million in that case. Then, in 2024, Trump was found liable for defamation against Carroll for comments he made after he lost the first lawsuit and handed her $83 million in damages. Trump posted a $91 million bond as he appealed the verdict.

‘She’s as Clueless as Her Husband’: Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Wife Tells Her Side Months After His Explosive Cheating Scandal That Nearly Wrecked Their Marriage

Sun, 08/17/2025 - 19:59

The wife of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has shared her thoughts on the gossip connected to the Donald Trump administration official.

Kennedy, 71, was reportedly involved in an extramarital entanglement with political reporter Olivia Nuzzi during his 11-year marriage to “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actress Cheryl Hines.

In September 2024, New York Magazine parted ways with Nuzzi, 32, after news of her romantic text messages and video conversations with RFK Jr. were uncovered.

The sexting scandal broke a month after Kennedy ended his 2024 independent presidential campaign and endorsed Trump, the Republican candidate in the race.

Hines, 59, spoke about her marriage to the member of the Kennedy dynasty in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

“I don’t think there’s any point to going through every rumor and headline to try to defend or explain it,” Hines said without directly mentioning the speculation of infidelity that has plagued their relationship.

She insisted the couple “talk about everything” and “trust each other.” The Primetime Emmy Award nominee also stated, “One would deduce that we love each other and are still married and whatever we’ve been through is behind us.”

RFK Jr. also sat down for the interview. When asked about Hines being drawn into his controversies, Kennedy responded, “There is no end, and if you get caught into responding to it then it drags you into low vibrations, and the trick is to try to stay in the high vibrations.”

One of those hot-button social issues associated with Kennedy is his anti-vaccine stance which received a co-signed from his spouse. Per People, Hines seemingly questioned scientific evidence on vaccinations by asking “Is science ever settled?”

Hines and Kennedy’s quotes from their WSJ profile generated a lot of online reactions as commenters shared varying takes on the “Make America Healthy Again” movement leader and his wife.

“Burying your head in the sand, and even if you skirt the issues, the elephant is still in the room,” one People reader commented, referring to Hines claiming they have moved past any previous problems in their marriage.

A second individual posted, “It takes a special kind of person to be married to him! Good luck!” Yet another critic of RFK Jr. and Hines exclaimed, “She is as clueless as her husband!!”

One person even called for Hines being blackballed in the entertainment industry by demanding, “Hollywood, please stop hiring Cheryl Hines. She is already living large on U.S. taxpayer money via her husband’s paycheck.”

On the Page Six website, a comment read, “She should be more embarrassed about his role in dismantling our health care system and scientific research.”

RFK Jr. and Hines celebrated their wedding anniversary on August 2. The longtime environmental lawyer and the “Think Like a Man 2” cast member tied the knot at the Kennedy compound on Cape Cod in 2014.

“Thanks for eleven years of love and laughter. You fill all my empty spaces,” RFK Jr. expressed about his third wife on X. His tweet featured a photograph of the prominent pair in matching black outfits.

Kennedy was also married to Emily Ruth Black from 1982 to 1994. Following that split, RFK Jr. wed Mary Kathleen Richardson in 1995. Richardson passed away in 2012 after Kennedy filed for divorce two years earlier.

Black is the mother of Kennedy’s two oldest children and Richardson has four children with the Harvard University graduate.

Hines is a two-time bride. She married Paul Young in 2002, and they share a daughter. Following nearly eight years of marriage, Hines and Young filed for divorce in 2010. The official court date for finalizing the divorce remains unclear.

‘Shonda Would Have Given Her a White Husband’: Natasha Rothwell Steals ‘Who TF Did I Marry’ from Shonda Rhimes, Leaving Fans Wondering What She’ll Do Differently

Sun, 08/17/2025 - 18:27

Emmy-nominated actress and writer Natasha Rothwell has secured one of the most coveted projects in Hollywood, outbidding television powerhouse Shonda Rhimes and four other major production companies for the rights to adapt Tareasa “Reesa Teesa” Johnson’s viral TikTok sensation “Who TF Did I Marry?”

Johnson’s 50-part TikTok series, which captivated millions of viewers with her firsthand account of discovering her ex-husband’s web of lies and deception, became a cultural phenomenon that had Hollywood executives scrambling to secure the adaptation rights.

The announcement came during a live taping of Michelle Obama’s podcast “IMO With Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson” on Aug. 9 at the 23rd annual Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, where Rothwell sat down for an intimate conversation about her expansive career and upcoming projects.

The victory represents a major coup for Rothwell’s Big Hattie Productions, which she described as still being in its early stages when the bidding war commenced.

Johnson’s raw authenticity and compelling storytelling ability made it clear that whoever landed the project would have television gold on their hands.

“I was blown away that she fearlessly was telling the story and still believed in love after that,” Rothwell shared during the podcast interview.

According to Variety, the connection between Rothwell and Johnson proved to be the deciding factor in a competitive field that included some of the industry’s most established names.

When Rothwell had the opportunity to FaceTime with Johnson directly, their conversation created an immediate bond that transcended business negotiations.

“When the rights to the story became available in Hollywood, it was a six-way bidding war. My Big Hattie Productions was kind of a fledgling. I got the opportunity to FaceTime with her, and we just connected. And we beat Shonda [Rhimes], y’all, we got it,” Rothwell revealed, her excitement palpable even in recounting the victory.

Johnson went viral in early 2024 after exposing the red flags she avoided in her jaw-dropping TikTok series, where she recounted what she described as a nightmare marriage to a “pathological liar” she nicknamed “Legion.”

She said their whirlwind romance began in March 2020 after meeting on Facebook Dating. When her tire blew out on the way to their first date, “Legion” swooped in to cover the repairs and dinner, quickly sweeping her off her feet. He painted himself as a financially secure former arena football player who had worked for Apple and was now a vice president at a condiment company.

Within weeks of dating, the pandemic shutdown pushed them into living together, and by January 2021, they were married.

By June of that same year, they divorced after Teesa discovered nearly everything about “Legion” was a lie. He was not an athlete, a corporate executive, or financially stable; in reality, he was a forklift driver at a temp agency with a probation record that included impersonating an officer.

“I just know that everything was a lie. I have not found anything that proves something was true,” she said in her video. “I need to forgive myself; maybe I shouldn’t say forgive myself for being dumb, but definitely forgive myself, for you would rather be right and married than be obedient and patient.”

According to Teesa, he falsified bank documents, used fake Social Security numbers, and even faked phone conversations with his “contacts.” He failed to follow through on buying a house, left her stranded after a miscarriage, and ultimately shattered her trust. But the man she nicknamed “Legion” was later identified as Jerome “JC” Rome McCoy, and he told a much different story.

Viral TikToker Reesa Teesa, who blasted her ex-husband in ‘Who TF Did I Marry” TikTok series, goes viral again after he responds. (Photos: Reesamteesa/TikTok; Dannih19/TikTok.)

“Straight lying. It’s sad. It’s completely false. She lied about everything,” he stated in his own video response. “We went to marriage counseling, didn’t work, and we broke up. But … my message to her is, please stop lying to these people and tell them the real reason I left you. You cheated. I caught you in the house with Bradley.”

However, fans are having mixed feelings about Rothwell’s involvement over Rhimes.

“I’m kind of bummed about that, Shonda Rimes has a pretty strong track record and I don’t know of anything that she has produced so I hope that she does a good job,” said one person.

Another said, “Shonda probaby didn’t want it as bad cuz we all know she has the capital to win the bid.”

Siding with Rothwell, two others said, “Shonda would have given her a white husband so that’s cool,” and “Love Shonda but this is not her story to tell.. everything happens for a reason.”

— TS – Eras Tour – Pittsburgh N1 (@gigiandleo) April 16, 2021

Sympathizing with Johnson, another added, “This is not a comedy, that woman went through hell. Please don’t make this a comedy.”

The project aligns perfectly with Rothwell’s mission as a creator and producer, particularly her commitment to amplifying marginalized voices and telling stories that might otherwise go untold.

Rothwell’s path to Hollywood success was far from conventional. Originally aspiring to be a Broadway theater actor with dreams of befriending Audra McDonald, she found herself writing her own auditions during college, unknowingly preparing for a career that would span multiple facets of the entertainment industry.

Her early years included everything from improv performances in New York City to teaching acting in Japan to joining the writers’ room at “Saturday Night Live,” where she was the only Black writer on staff.

Her journey to this moment has been marked by groundbreaking work that consistently centers underrepresented perspectives, from her breakout role as Kelli on Issa Rae’s HBO series “Insecure” to her recent Hulu series “How to Die Alone.”

The transition from behind-the-scenes writer to on-screen talent happened organically when the character of Kelli was created specifically for her.

Now, with “Who TF Did I Marry?” moving into the pitching phase, Rothwell is preparing for what she hopes will be production beginning within the year.

‘So Ready for Snuggles’: Oregon Cop Ditched Dying Man in Patrol Car to Watch TikToks and Sext Lover, Lawsuit Claims

Sun, 08/17/2025 - 18:00

A federal lawsuit alleges that an Oregon police officer left a handcuffed man suffering a fatal overdose in the back of a patrol car and went inside a police station to scroll TikTok and send intimate text messages.

The family of Nathan Bradford Smith filed a wrongful death lawsuit accusing police in Coos Bay, Oregon, of negligence, abuse of a vulnerable person, and “deliberate indifference,” after Smith suffered a methamphetamine overdose during a 2024 arrest and lost consciousness in the back of a police car.

The 33-year-old’s arrest and dying moments on July 7, 2024, were caught on dashcam video.

Video screenshot shows Nathan Bradford Smith in the back of a patrol car. (Photo: YouTube screenshot/KGW News)

After he was placed in the back of a police car, he was seen breathing and panting heavily and slumping over in the backseat.

It only took police three minutes to drive to the police station, but after arriving, an officer left Smith alone in the car and went inside, where he watched videos on TikTok and replied to texts. One message he sent read, “I’m so ready for snuggles I feel like i haven’t seen you in a week.”

The cop also turned his body camera around to hide whatever he did next on his phone.

Smith was left inside the car unattended for eight minutes.

When the officer finally returned, he found Smith unconscious. After failing to rouse him, he grabbed a Narcan dose from his trunk and administered it to Smith, then called for an ambulance, according to a state police report.

When paramedics arrived, they discovered Smith’s body temperature was 107.3 degrees. They rushed him to a hospital, where he went into cardiac arrest and died.

A total of 40 minutes elapsed between the time Smith was arrested and the time he went into cardiac arrest, the complaint states.

Doctors listed his cause of death as “hyperthermia due to methamphetamine intoxication and probable exogenous contribution from wearing multiple layers of heavy clothing.”

“When these officers found him, he was clearly showing the signs of medical distress, and what we know, when he finally did get to see a doctor, is that his temperature was 107. He was hyperthermic, and he was going to die. And unfortunately, he did,” lead attorney Juan Chavez, with the Oregon Justice Resource Center, told KGW. “There was a 40-minute delay in getting him critical medical assistance.”

Louisiana Cops Pointed Guns at Innocent Black Family’s Kids In Botched Night Raid, Offered No Apology—Then Said Something That Made It Even Worse

When state police investigated Smith’s death, they learned that officers had two encounters with him earlier that day. During the first encounter, they found him sitting outside a store and removed a meth pipe from his possession while they were on an unrelated call.

In the second encounter, they were called to a business where Smith was reportedly screaming and scaring customers. Officers warned him they would arrest him after the next call.

Later that afternoon, someone called 911 after seeing Smith lying on the side of the road near a Motel 6, flailing his arms. When police arrived, they struggled to get Smith to stand up and move on his own and had to help him into the patrol car.

According to a state investigator’s report, Smith had been flagged in the local police database as “officer safety risk” due to his history of drug use, mental illness and fights with officers.

Police told state investigators they decided to arrest Smith at the Motel 6 due to his “violent tendencies” from previous encounters.

In a written statement, the cop who drove Smith to the police station said he left Smith in the car to call another officer “due to it being a shift change,” and he also wanted to ask a sergeant whether he needed to write a probable cause affidavit to charge Smith with having another person’s wallet.

“There were no other officers to monitor Nathan,” he told state police.

The officer added that he left his patrol car on with the air conditioning running, and that the back windows remained up because they weren’t working correctly.

No criminal charges were filed against any of the officers involved in Smith’s arrest after state police concluded their investigation.

Smith’s father told the Oregonian newspaper that police told him his son died but failed to share the circumstances of his death. He didn’t learn the cause of death until he visited the funeral home.

“He didn’t deserve to just be left to die,” Kurt Smith said.

The complaint seeks unspecified damages and alleges the officers were “deliberately indifferent to Mr. Smith’s serious medical need or otherwise serious risk of harm in not calling for medical attention or otherwise rendering aid to a person with Mr. Smith’s conditions in their custody.”

‘Show Me Your ID!’: White Seattle Man Shoots Black Disabled Veteran In the Chest In Broad Daylight After Demanding He Show Him Proof of His Service

Sun, 08/17/2025 - 17:14

A Navy veteran who plays music near Seattle’s waterfront says he’s just thankful to be alive after being shot in broad daylight during a confrontation that prosecutors are calling both senseless and deliberate.

Harold Powell Sr.’s family believes the attack was a hate crime. Powell is Black, and his attacker is white.

“More shocked I think than anything else. I just got hit really hard right here in the chest where he hit me real close,” said Harold Powell, describing the moment he was shot on July 31 outside the Starbucks at Pier 55.

The 68-year-old, who uses a wheelchair, was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the chest but was released days later.

“I seen the slug. I can see the heat of the slug coming at me and then just, ‘boom!’ Knocked me back,” he recounted to local station KIRO. “I just went to ‘I’m gonna die’ so let me call my family. Forget everything else. It’s just all I thought, I wasn’t worried about nothing else.”

Former Linebacker Steps In to Manhandle ‘Unruly’ Passenger Who Yelled Racial Slurs and Broke Loose from Restraints Twice

The bullet cracked his ribs but miraculously missed his vital organs. “[Doctors] didn’t believe it: after all these x-rays that I can live after being shot like that,” he said.

Powell’s naval career ended after he was struck by a drunk driver in 1991. Since 1995, he’s been a fixture along Seattle’s waterfront, performing music for donations.

“I know people down there, they know me. We’re kind of a family. There is a family. You know, they expect to see me. I see them,” he said.

That sense of community was shattered when prosecutors say 32-year-old Gregory William Timm confronted Powell over accusations of “stolen valor.”

A post shared by Atlanta Black Star (@atlblackstar)

On the evening of July 31, Powell was sitting in his wheelchair along the Seattle waterfront, playing music as he had for nearly three decades, when Timm walked up. According to charging documents and video reviewed by prosecutors, the encounter turned hostile almost immediately.

Timm accused Powell of lying about his military service and shouted that he was guilty of “stolen valor.” He demanded that Powell show military identification, and at one point ripped a military patch from Powell’s wheelchair, reports show.

White Woman Who Yelled Racial Slurs at Black Family at Minnesota Park Says She’s Entitled to Say It In Viral Video

Powell tried to retrieve his ID, but tensions escalated as he also reached for a small knife from his bag for protection. He had a holstered airsoft gun, which resembled a real firearm, attached to his chair. A video of the incident shows Powell pulling it out of his bag.

That’s when, prosecutors allege, Timm stepped back about 12 feet, pulled a .45 caliber handgun from a shoulder bag, and fired once directly into Powell’s chest.

Startled bystanders screamed and scattered, some shielding children as Powell slumped in his chair.

He then slid his pistol back into his bag, raised his hands, and shouted reassurances to witnesses: “It’s all right, everybody!”

Timm, meanwhile, continued yelling at Powell to “show me your ID,” and accused him of pulling a gun.

A Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officer nearby heard the gunfire and rushed over, detaining Timm on the spot. Seattle police arrived moments later, recovered the handgun, and placed him under arrest.

Timm is no stranger to politically charged violence. In 2020, he made national headlines after plowing his car into a Republican voter registration tent in Jacksonville, Florida. At the time, he told police he “did not like President Trump” and later testified that he believed his actions were his “duty.”

Now, King County prosecutors have charged him with first-degree assault, a Class A felony that carries the potential for life in prison. His bail has been set at $750,000.

Casey McNerthney, spokesperson for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, said Timm cannot claim self-defense when he provoked the altercation. “If you’re the one who’s the first aggressor who provokes an altercation, you lose the right to claim self-defense effectively under state law,” McNerthney told King 5.

Powell’s children have launched a GoFundMe to help cover the enormous costs of his recovery, describing their father as a proud Black man, a disabled hero, and a survivor of both war and systemic injustice.

“A few days ago, our lives were shattered,” the family wrote. “Our dad was targeted in what we believe was a hate crime and shot in the chest in a senseless act of violence. After everything he’s survived, Vietnam-era submariner, injury, disability, and systemic injustice, he is now fighting for his life again in a hospital room. The road ahead is long.”

The family says Powell will need help with medical bills, therapy, mobility aids, and basic living expenses while he’s unable to work.

“This isn’t just about survival — it’s about justice, healing, and dignity,” the fundraiser reads. “He has served, he has sacrificed, and now he needs his community to rally around him.”

‘He Got What He Deserved’: Michael Strahan Caught Off Guard as Robin Roberts Drops Jaw-Dropping Clapback During Live Show

Sun, 08/17/2025 - 15:58

Robin Roberts proved once again that she’s not the one to be tested during a heated on-air exchange with her “Good Morning America” co-anchor, Michael Strahan.

The veteran news anchor, who has graced television screens for decades long before Strahan, showed viewers that beneath her warm and professional demeanor lies someone who won’t hesitate to put someone in their place when pushed too far.

The drama unfolded during Wednesday’s Aug. 13 episode of the ABC morning show, immediately following a segment about the viral Labubu dolls that have taken social media by storm.

Michael Strahan left speechless at Robin Roberts’ perfectly timed comeback after he tried to embarrass his co-anchor on live television. (Photos: GMA/Instagram)

As the cameras continued rolling, Strahan reached beneath his desk while Roberts issued a clear warning that would prove prophetic.

“Don’t do it, Michael. Don’t do it,” she cautioned, but the former NFL star ignored her advice entirely.

Strahan then pulled out Roberts’ colorful stuffed penguin, a cherished gift from Dr. Tara Narula’s daughter that holds special meaning in her collection. Mistaking it for one of the trending Labubu toys they had just discussed, Strahan decided to publicly embarrass his colleague on national television.

“We were sitting here, and I saw Robin on her phone, and she was looking this up,” he announced while holding up the toy for all to see.

The 53-year-old former football player joked that her stuffed animal wasn’t even a “Lafufu” when she discovered it wasn’t actually a Labubu. But Strahan’s attempt at humor quickly backfired when he made his fatal mistake.

“I feel great because I knew it wasn’t a Labubu. I couldn’t help it. It has no teeth. Come on,” he said, referencing the toy’s lack of dental features.

That’s when Roberts fired back with surgical precision. “You’re one to talk about teeth,” she said instantly, sending the entire studio into fits of laughter while Strahan was left speechless.

“Robin been holding that one!!!” another commenter observed, suggesting that Roberts had been waiting for the perfect moment to deploy such a perfectly aimed response.

The reaction continued building momentum as more people discovered the clip.

The discourse spread to other platforms, with one Threads user providing context about the buildup to the moment: “She gave him a warning shot to [be quiet] when she mentioned the doctor and adding it to her collection but nah, he rolled right on through that so he got what he deserved.”

The impact of Roberts’ comeback was so powerful that it left some viewers imagining themselves in similar situations.

“They would’ve had to go to commercial chile cause I would’ve been on the flo!” one person wrote.

Behind-the-scenes personnel couldn’t contain themselves, as one observer noted: “Even production broke lmaoooo ms. Roberts that was shaaaadddy.”

Strahan, who has long embraced his famous tooth gap and even refers to his supporters as “Gap Nation,” has previously addressed his dental signature in good humor.

In 2021, he pulled an elaborate April Fools’ Day prank, pretending he’d had his diastema filled in before assuring fans it hadn’t going anywhere.

‘Why Selena Why’: Selena Gomez’s New Look Has Fans Convinced She Made Changes to Her Appearance

Sat, 08/16/2025 - 23:29

When Selena Gomez posted what should have been a simple mirror selfie showcasing her cozy night in, she probably didn’t expect it to spark yet another round of intense scrutiny about her appearance.

The 33-year-old actress and singer shared an intimate Instagram carousel featuring a selfie of her in a blush-pink silk slip dress, but instead of focusing on her effortlessly chic at-home style, trolls zeroed in on her face.

Selena Gomez’s pink slip dress selfie sparked more criticism about her face than praise for her style. (Photo: @selenagomez/Instagram)

The former Disney Channel darling captured the mirror selfie in what appeared to be her spacious bedroom, wearing a stunning silk garment with orange detailing that traced the neckline and ran along the leg slit.

Completing her evening ensemble were pink-rimmed glasses, perfect for her night of binge-watching “How I Met Your Mother,” which could be seen playing on the television behind her.

The soft lighting from a candle on her vanity created an intimate, cozy atmosphere that many celebrities strive to capture in their social media posts.

However, when the Daily Mail posted about her photos, the conversation in that tabloid’s cesspool of a comments section took a very much predictable turn as readers began scrutinizing Gomez’s features rather than celebrating her fashion choice.

“Why Selena? Why?” wrote one critical commenter, while another added, “She still has the fillers of a 55 year old real housewife.”

Some wondered if she’s trying to create buzz around her career since dropping her album at the top of the year.

“As soon as their career starts fading so does their clothes. So sad!” said one critic. Another added, “Overrated and overexposed just like her annoying friend TS. Only hope is once they hit 40, both vanish into obscurity.”

Gomez’s Instagram carousel offered more than just the bedroom photo, featuring moments from her recent adventures, including a group shot from a double date with fiancé Benny Blanco, alongside Logan Lerman and his fiancée Analuisa Corrigan.

One person asked, “Major disrespect to Benny, run while you can!!!! Why is an engaged woman posting pictures in lingerie?”

Additional images showed her enjoying various activities, including lounging on a comfortable couch while indulging in a Pedialyte freezer popsicle and a rare photograph with her younger half-sister Gracie during Gomez’s 33rd birthday celebration last month, complete with disco-themed rooftop decor.

The scrutiny surrounding Gomez’s looks isn’t new territory for the performer, who has been in the public eye since appearing on “Barney & Friends” in 2002. Her breakthrough role as Alex Russo in Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place” from 2007 to 2012 meant she literally grew up before the world’s watchful gaze.

This constant visibility has made every physical change subject to public debate and speculation.

What many critics fail to acknowledge is Gomez’s ongoing battle with lupus, an autoimmune disease she was diagnosed with in 2013.

The condition affects multiple body systems, including the kidneys, skin, and joints, significantly impacting her physical form in ways beyond her control.

In a 2023 TikTok video, Gomez candidly explained how her medication causes her body to “tend to hold a lot of water weight and that happens very normally. And then when I’m off of it I tend to kind of lose weight.”

Selena Gomez goes live on TikTok to address comments about her body. She talks about her health, medication for lupus and how they affect her body. pic.twitter.com/JL3hIArShB

— Selena Gomez News (@OfficialSGnews) February 16, 2023

Medical experts at Johns Hopkins Lupus Center confirm that the disease can cause both weight loss and weight gain, with increased lupus activity sometimes leading to weight reduction, while medications like corticosteroids can cause weight gain. The physical fluctuations Gomez experiences are a direct result of managing a serious health condition, not vanity or poor lifestyle choices.

Despite the medical explanation she’s provided, social media commentary continues to be unforgiving.

Last year, the “Lose You to Love Me” singer responded to a separate TikTok video shared in 2023 by a physician’s assistant at a Florida plastic surgeon’s office addressed recent online speculation that Gomez had undergone cosmetic procedures.

“Honestly, I hate this,” she commented, according to E News! Addressing speculation about the work she had done, she was “on stripes because of flare up,” adding, “I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone.”

Aside from the discourse on how she looks, Gomez is currently preparing to portray eleven-time Grammy winner Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic.

‘The Biggest Criminal Is Sitting … In Gold Adorned Oval Office’: Trump’s White House Post Flaunting Mug Shots of Black Men in D.C. Crackdown Backfires

Sat, 08/16/2025 - 17:41

Less than a day after flooding Washington, D.C., with National Guard troops and federal law enforcement officers from various agencies, the White House used its social media feed to showcase a shocking display of mug shots of people arrested in the first hours of the federal crackdown on crime in Washington. They were all Black men except for one.

In a twisted display of federal power, the Trump administration continued a well-worn stereotype that dates back decades, depicting Black people as the face of crime, yet none of these men had spoken to an attorney, exercised their constitutional right to due process, or seen a judge.

In the social media post on X, the White House touted “Operation Making D.C. Safe & Beautiful.”

“Multi-agency task forces are hitting the streets of Washington, D.C., cleaning up crime and keeping our neighborhoods SAFE! In just ONE NIGHT, they: Arrested 37 criminals, Seized 11 illegal firearms, Issued 4 narcotic charges,” the post bragged.

Under the caption were mug shots of Black men, except for one Asian, none of whom had been convicted of crimes.

‘This Is Cringe’: Trump’s White House Mocked Over Social Media Post So ‘Embarrassing’ Critics Beg, ‘Delete This Now’

To say this disgraceful post continues a long history and stands as a clear example of states reinforcing dangerous racial narratives when it comes to crime, and creating fear within communities, is an understatement, especially given, in this case, that the city is nearly half Black. One could argue this is in no way accidental, that it’s propaganda.

Responses on social media were quick and withering. X user Frank Lutu posted a mug shot of President Trump with the caption, “88 felony charges across 4 states, lost a civil sexual abuse case and civil fraud case.”

pic.twitter.com/qXEXXGGwuo

— FRANK LUTU (@SagaTypeBeat) August 11, 2025

X user Dede Watson wasn’t having any of it. “So you think that showing a mug shot of a criminal makes your case. We want the EPSTEIN FILES RELEASED. The biggest Criminal is sitting behind the desk in his gold adorned Oval Office.”

Another X user saw the Trump administration post for what it is, “The White House is using their platform to create more of a racial division by posting only photos of people of POC people to incite more racism and fuel stereotypes.

“Congrats on reporting what’s basically a standard night in D.C. crime stats. Crime is already down overall, but give it a couple weeks and this admin will be spinning it as a historic achievement because everything with them is hyperbole,” Bryan posted on social media.

Trump declared a public safety emergency in the nation’s capital on Monday, announcing he was deploying the National Guard to help fight “violent crime.” In an unprecedented move, he justified the takeover under an obscure provision of the 1973 Home Rule Act, which allows the President to usurp the city’s police department for up to 30 days under “conditions of an emergency nature.”

After 30 days, Congress has to pass a joint resolution to extend the operation.

Trump deployed some 850 officers, agents, and National Guard members across the city on Monday.

Since then, authorities have arrested more than 100 people, according to Time Magazine, 66 on Tuesday night and another 45 on Wednesday night. Charges include assault, distribution of a controlled substance, drug possession, weapons violations, DUI, stalking and immigration violations, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said during a press briefing Thursday.

‘That Is Exactly What Ben Did’: Jennifer Lopez Ditches Pesky Bug Crawling Up Her Neck Mid Performance

Sat, 08/16/2025 - 17:35

Nothing can throw Jennifer Lopez off her game, not even uninvited guests bugging out on stage.

The superstar was nearly upstaged as she wrapped up the “Up All Night: Live in 2025 Tour” with her final performance in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Aug. 10. While in the middle of singing one of her ballads, a creepy cricket was seen crawling up her body in viral video footage.

Lopez, 56, dressed in a black bodysuit with cutouts, had plenty of skin for the bug to make contact with as it settled on her neck. When she finally grabbed the creepy crawler and tossed it to the stage, while laughing, “He was tickling me.”

Online, fans were impressed with how calmly she handled the unsettling moment. “She better than me, I would’ve embarrassed myself on stage,” said one onlooker. A second supporter commented, “Handled that like a boss, stayed cool, calm and collected.”

Hecklers, on the other hand, are not letting up on the “In Living Color” Fly Girl alum. A critic quipped, “Probably was trying to get to her throat to see what  TF that noise was.” Lopez’s singing abilities have long been a hot topic among her detractors.

Another joked about her singing, “That cricket wasn’t trying to hear that mess.”

A more snide remark seemingly took a dig at the attendance, despite the video not showing concertgoers. An X user wrote, “There were crickets in the crowd too.”

Last summer, Lopez canceled plans for a comeback tour amid her separation from Ben Affleck.

She rebounded from the change of plans by taking “Up All Night” abroad for 19 shows. In her own words, “This summer is a celebration of freedom and having a d—n good time.”

The singer is eight months removed from her divorce from Ben Affleck.

‘His Wife Messed Him Up Badly: Clip of Will Smith Admitting He Refused Vengeful Roles Has Fans Blaming Wife Jada Over Oscars Slap

Sat, 08/16/2025 - 17:10

Will Smith’s reasoning for rejecting a movie role is coming back to haunt him, as social media users refuse to forget the actor’s infamous Oscar-night slap.

In 2016, Smith took part in The Hollywood Reporter’s star-studded Actor Oscar Roundtable alongside Mark Ruffalo, Benicio Del Toro, Joel Edgerton, Samuel L. Jackson, and Michael Cain.

The conversation featured Smith, 56, explaining why he passed on an opportunity to portray the titular role in filmmaker Quentin Tarantino’s 2012 classic “Django Unchained” motion picture, alongside Jackson.

“I had said yes to ‘Django.’ But it was more about the creative direction of the story,” Smith told his fellow Hollywood leading men. “We sat for hours and hours and hours about it. I wanted to make that movie so badly.”

The Philadelphia native continued, “But with that story, I felt the only way I could make that movie is it had to be a love story, not a vengeance story. I don’t believe in violence as the reaction to violence.”

Jamie Foxx was cast as Django Freeman in the 1850s-set western centered around the freed slave attempting to save his wife, Broomhilda, played by Kerry Washington, from a vicious plantation owner, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Like with many of his films, Tarantino displayed over four dozen exaggerated, graphic depictions of fights and other acts of violence in “Django Unchained.”

Will Smith on turning down DJANGO UNCHAINED: "For me I just couldn't connect to violence being the answer." pic.twitter.com/xlPllvpka7

— Todd Spence (@Todd_Spence) August 13, 2025

“It has to be for love. That’s the only way he can retrieve his love is to do this. He can’t want to be this… No, no, no. Violence begets violence. For me, I just couldn’t connect to violence being the answer. Love had to be the answer,” Smith said about ‘Django’ in the THR roundtable discussion.

Those nine-year-old remarks by Smith resurfaced on X in August 2025, which led to the “Wild Wild West” rapper facing heavy scrutiny from fans. In particular, critics accused him of eventually being hypocritical since he embraced violence at the 94th Academy Awards in 2022.

The coverage of that year’s ceremony was dominated by reactions to Smith slapping Chris Rock on stage after the comedian made a “G.I. Jane” joke about the shaved head of the Best Actor winner’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

“That’s rich. The guy who walked on stage at the Oscars to conduct violence upon someone for telling a joke, telling us that someone’s violence in art violated his moral standards. To call that man a hypocrite is an insult to hypocrites,” an X user declared.

Similarly, someone posted, “Says the guy who slapped Chris Rock.” A second person joked, “No slapping allowed, so no Will Smith.” A third tweeted, “Chris Rock’s cheek wishes this statement was what Will Smith really believed.”

Other moviegoers pointed out that Smith has starred in numerous films throughout his career — such as 1995’s “Bad Boys,” 1996’s “Independence Day,” and 2004’s “I, Robot” — that had violent acts written in the script.

“Almost every movie that Will Smith was in during the 90s and early 2000s, violence was the answer. Why does anyone listen to celebrities?” one individual on the X platform wondered.

A Smith defender replied, “He means that he didn’t want vengeance to be the motivator. He wanted the violence to be done in the name of love. Probably wanted them to alter it so that Django was doing everything he did to save Broomhilda.”

Meanwhile, one tweeter looked to put the blame on Pinkett, writing, “I understand that this came out before he slapped Chris Rock. Can we all agree that his wife messed him up badly?”

Will and Jada, who have been married since 1997, were once close friends with Rock. But the “slap heard ‘round the world” in 2022 came with consequences for just one party. Following a formal review, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences barred Smith from attending any Academy events for 10 years.

However, later that year, he played Peter, an enslaved man who risks everything to escape captivity in the movie “Emancipation.” While his character himself does not commit acts of violence, the film vividly depicts brutality and highlights the relentless violence of slavery.

Wait a minute: pic.twitter.com/558iXcvCOE

— Rolland Bere (@RollandBere) August 13, 2025

By that point, Smith had already preemptively resigned from the academy and offered a public apology to Rock. Fast-forward to June 2025, Smith referenced the incident during his “Fire in the Booth” freestyle with British DJ Charlie Sloth.

“If you talkin’ crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage, expect me on the stage. Jokers dish it out, cry foul when it’s time to take it. City full of real ones, wasn’t raised to fake it,” the Grammy Award winner rapped.

Smith returned to his hip-hop roots by releasing the “Based on a True Story” studio LP in March 2025. The father of three found greater commercial and critical success with his big screen comeback in 2024’s “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” movie. The buddy cop action comedy grossed $405 million at the global box office and scored favorable reviews.

‘Inappropriately Aggressive’: Fired Head Coach of Girls’ Basketball Team Who Yanked Player’s Hair In Viral Video Hit with New Allegations

Fri, 08/15/2025 - 20:00

A former girls’ high school basketball coach, who made national headlines after being caught on camera pulling a player’s ponytail following a championship game, is now being sued by the high schooler he accosted.

Former Northville girls’ basketball star player Hailey Monroe is suing the team’s ex-coach, 81-year-old Jim Zullo, alleging that he acted aggressively and dangerously when he pulled Monroe’s hair after the team lost a New York state championship game in March.

Viral footage shows Monroe, her teammates, and Zullo standing courtside after the game ended. Zullo is seen approaching Monroe from behind and abruptly yanking her ponytail, which also caused her head to whip back.

A video shows a coach yank a teenage girl’s ponytail at the 2025 New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class D Girls Basketball Tournament. (Photo: X/@kirawontmiss)

A tearful Monroe steps away from Zullo as he starts yelling at her. Monroe’s teammate intervenes and scolds the coach for his actions.

Monroe’s complaint states that the incident exemplifies Zullo’s “long history of both physical and psychological abuse of students both in and out of the Northville Central School District,” per the Times Union.

Monroe alleges that she suffered “various permanent physical and mental injuries,” and seeks monetary damages.

The suit goes on to accuse the Northville Central School District, saying district officials “had been made aware and knew of … Zullo’s propensity to be inappropriately aggressive towards players on the Northville girls’ basketball team.”

In a statement, the school system said they are reviewing the complaint but won’t comment on the allegations at this time.

“It is the District’s policy to refrain from commenting on allegations in a complaint,” the district wrote in a statement to Spectrum News 1. “The District is reviewing the complaint and working with our legal counsel and we stand ready to address the allegations when the time to do so is appropriate.”

Zullo was fired from the school district after the altercation.

The public safety office for Hudson Valley Community College, where the championship game took place, also pressed charges against Zullo.

He pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment in July and was ordered to pay a $120 fine and to stay away from the Monroe for a year. If he complies with the court order, the charge will be expunged from his record.

Zullo coached high school basketball teams for 40 years before retiring, leading several boys’ high school teams in New York state to six sectional titles and 12 league titles.

He came out of retirement to coach the Northville girls’ team and led them to back-to-back appearances at the Class D state championship for the two seasons he was with the school. Both games ended in defeat.

He was inducted into the New York Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.

‘Damn What Did Jerry Do?’: Denzel Washington Slams Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones About the Team’s Management During Live Interview

Fri, 08/15/2025 - 19:54

Denzel Washington loves the Dallas Cowboys football team, but it seems like he may have it out for the team’s owner, Jerry Jones.

Washington and filmmaker Spike Lee paid a visit to the “First Take” set earlier this week to promote their upcoming film “Highest 2 Lowest.”

But during their Aug. 12 conversation, of course, both gentlemen got into some sports talk with hosts Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim on the show, where Washington took time to take jabs at Jones for his mishandling of the franchise.

He began by giving Smith his props after the commentator criticized Jones earlier in the show. One of Smith’s issues with Jones was the way the team owner has shown a lack of respect toward Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons.

On Aug. 1, Parsons publicly asked to be traded from the team as his contract negotiations continued to stall. He’s currently playing in the final year of his rookie contract for $24 million, which has been acknowledged as a low rate for the two-time All-Pro former defensive rookie of the year.

‘Why He Grabbing His Arm Like That?’: Denzel Washington Unleashes on Handsy Photographer During Intense On-Camera Confrontation

The other issue raised about Jones was Smith’s claim that the owner’s actions bring negative attention to the team. He believes Jones’ controversial image is tainting the Cowboys’ brand.

Washington warmed up to the topic by telling Smith that he’s “with him” on his previous statements about Jones.

He later added, “I don’t like what Dallas is doing. I know they’re making a lot of money, and I’m happy for the owner. But the fans ain’t happy.” The 70-year-old says he became a fan after growing up in Mount Vernon and playing for a boys football team called The Red Raiders. He explained his team used a play on the field called “shift,” which started being used by the Cowboys in the ’60s thanks to their then-coach Tom Landry.

“I’ve been a Cowboy fan since the ’60s. He’s making it hard for me,” he said, referring to Jones.

Washington asked Smith to explain what Jones says about his own team. Smith commented, “He says, don’t talk about my Cowboys. We’re the most successful brand in sports.” When asked to elaborate, Smith said, “he’s talking about recognition, notoriety, dollars, cents.”

Looking into the camera, Washington addressed Jones head on.

“There’s box office and there’s Oscars, Jerry. Been a while, huh? You ain’t been to the show, you wouldn’t know. Haven’t been to the show, so you wouldn’t know what it is to win,” he said, making a reference to the fact that the Cowboys have not been to the NFC Championship or Super Bowl in 30 years.

He further poked at Jones with a final message saying, “All money ain’t good money, Jerry.”

But despite Washington not being pleased with Jones, it doesn’t erase his love for the team.

“I’m still a Cowboy fan. I’m still going to have the star on the side of the hat. But he ain’t thinking about us. He’s thinking about his pocket.”

Fans responded under the “First Take” Instagram post of the clip, including some who wondered, “Damn what did Jerry do? D really pissed yo!”

One person said, “Denzel been foot-on-neck every since he hit 70.” The star recently made headlines for showing little patience with journalists in interviews and paparazzi who get too handsy.

Another said, “Denzel comes with no filter so if you can’t take the heat stay out the Kitchen.”

A third wrote, “That’s how serious it’s gotten that Denzel speaking on it. Cowboys fans boycott the team, Jerry has been biting the hand that feeds him.”

A fourth commented, “And Jerry better not fix his mouth to say anything negative about brother Washington!”

Jones’ brash style and controversial moves have kept him in the media spotlight for decades.

In 2022, a photo resurfaced of Jones in 1957 standing with a crowd of white boys at North Little Rock High School, attempting to block Black students from integrating the school. Jones brushed it off as him being a “curious kid” and said he wasn’t even sure what the event was initially.

After then-San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick began in 2016 to protest during about police brutality toward African-Americans by kneeling in during pregame performances of the national anthem, many other NFL players did the same. But Jones revealed that he would bench any player that participates in that type of protest because he claimed it was disrespectful to the American flag.

In 2017, he made threats to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, saying he was going to “come after” him for suspending then-Dallas Cowboys player Ezekiel Elliot for six games. Elliot was accused of abusing his girlfriend at the time. While prosecutors did not charge him, the league’s inquiry claimed to have found substantial evidence of physical confrontations.

In 2014, racy photos surfaced of Jones posing with five women some outlets identified as strippers. He was seen holding one woman’s breasts in one. In another, a woman was on her knees with her head next to his groin area. At the time, Jones had been married to his wife Eugenia Jones for more than 50 years.

The list goes on for Jones and his problematic actions.

As for the recent call-out he got from Washington, he has yet to respond to the Oscar-winning star, and Parsons remains a Cowboys player.

‘I’m Stealing That’: Governor Gavin Newsom Hits Trump’s Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt with a Savage New Nickname, and Fans Say It’s Spot-On

Fri, 08/15/2025 - 18:40

California Gov. Gavin Newsom isn’t opposed to taking jabs at Donald Trump. But now the president’s underlings are getting caught in the crossfire.

On Aug. 14, Newsom mocked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt after she defended Trump’s decision to freeze $584 million in federal funding for the University of California, Los Angeles.

This came after the administration accused the university of anti-Semitism for allowing pro-Palestinian students to protest against Israel’s decimation of Gaza. The federal government has since asked for $1 billion from the university to settle the allegations. As a result of her support, Newsom has called Leavitt out for supporting her boss’s bidding by belittling her with a nickname.

His press office posted a clip on X of Leavitt responding to Newsom’s threat to take legal action against the administration.

“Bring it on, Gavin,” she said during the Aug. 12 press conference. “This administration is well within its legal right to do this, and we want to ensure that our colleges and our universities are respecting the First Amendment rights and the religious liberties of students on their campuses and UCLA has failed to do that, and I have a whole list of examples that I will forward to Gavin Newsom’s press office, if he hasn’t seen them himself.”

‘Why Do You Look Like That?’: New Photo of Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and Donald Trump Has Critics Claiming She Looks Half His Age

Later that day UCLA scored a victory when U.S. District Judge Rita F. Lin ordered Trump to restore part of their federal grant funding. They were specifically asked to restore the National Science Foundation grants after the foundation initially cut funding from the school under allegations that included antisemitism and racism.

After Leavitt’s response to him, Newsom’s press office account challenged her in the post for not sending over the “list of examples.” In the caption he wrote, “24 hours later and KaroLYING Leavitt still hasn’t sent the ‘evidence’ she promised to send. These people are LIARS!”

Fans reacted to Newsom’s mocking on Facebook.

One person said, “It sure fits!”

Another wrote, “‘I’m definitely stealing that.”

Under his X post one person responded, “I no longer listen to Leavitt or Trump. All they do is lie.”

Another person who thought the name fit her said, “This is what she does best. How this administration just keep lying with everything they say would minimal truths thrown in for distractions.”

But he didn’t stop there. Four hours later, he called both Leavitt and Trump out days after giving them a deadline to stop “cheating” with the administration’s move to push Republican-controlled state legislatures to redraw congressional maps in the middle of the decade.

The Texas Legislature, prodded by Trump himself, unveiled new congressional district maps last month that could help the Republicans gain five U.S. House seats in the Lone Star State in the midterm elections next fall. The new map — which has not been approved because state House Democrats have fled Texas, denying the state House a quorum to take a vote — could ensure GOP keeps control of the U.S. House of Representatives in tight midterm elections next fall. Newsom warned Trump to stop the Republicans’ efforts by giving them a deadline for Aug. 14 to do so or he would have California push to redraw maps to add more Democratic seats. The move could cut five GOP seats in California if approved.

On Aug. 13 he wrote, “DONNIE J. AND KaroLYIN’ LEAVITT WILL HAVE THEIR (LITTLE) HANDS “FULL” TODAY. WHOOPS. I, GAVIN CHRISTOPHER NEWSOM, AMERICA’S FAVORITE GOVERNOR (MANY SAY), WILL HOST THE GREATEST PRESS CONFERENCE OF ALL TIME. AFTER THAT — “THE MAPS” WILL SOON BE RELEASED. VERY MUCH ANTICIPATED. ‘Work the DUI, the Child Endangerment’: California Cops Huddled to Invent Charges After Realizing They Brutalized an Innocent Diabetic Dad in Front of His Daughter, Lawsuit Says

Fri, 08/15/2025 - 17:54

A man who was tased, injured and arrested by police in front of his 6-year-old daughter after crashing his car during a diabetic emergency is suing the city of Sebastopol, California and three of its officers for excessive force and false imprisonment, among other claims.

In his lawsuit filed in federal court in California on July 24 (and obtained by Atlanta Black Star), Jeffrey Callaghan argues that it quickly became apparent to police officers who had responded to a 911 call about a suspected drunk driver veering between lanes on a local highway on July 24, 2025 that he was suffering from hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar, which produces symptoms similar to intoxication, including disorientation and slurred speech.

But instead of accepting medical assessments of his condition, including breath and blood screenings showing he was not intoxicated, the officers conspired to pin serious criminal charges on Callaghan, including evading an officer, resisting arrest, and child endangerment, the complaint says, in order to minimize their own liability for harming him.

The day began brightly for Callaghan, who was enjoying spending time with his young daughter that included shopping for a toy she wanted at the mall and a stop at McDonald’s, where she enjoyed a Happy Meal and an ice cream cone, while he self-administered an insulin injection, the complaint says.

But as they proceeded to a local park, Callaghan, who has Type 1 diabetes, began to feel weak and then lost consciousness, swerving and driving erratically until he eventually drove his Ford pickup truck off the road into a ditch.

Following behind him at that point was Sebastopol Police Officer Forrest Whitehall, who suspected that Callaghan was intoxicated. His bodycam footage obtained by The Press Democrat shows that as he approached the truck he drew his gun and barked orders at Callaghan, including, “Put up your hands now!” and “Step out! Step out!” while the groggy Callaghan remained seated.

Callaghan, with his blood sugar falling dangerously low, appeared “lethargic and visibly in an altered mental state,” the lawsuit says. He moved slowly as he got out of the car, and did not immediately comply with Whitehall’s commands to “Go down to your stomach right now or I will tase you!” instead putting his hands in the air.

Whitehall fired his Taser in dart mode, delivering 50,000 volts of electrical shock to Callaghan as his daughter looked on, screaming, “Daddy!”  The impaired man fell and was writhing on the ground as Whitehall ordered him to roll over on his stomach, warning “I will keep tasing you!”

Unsatisfied with Callaghan’s compliance, Whitehall tased him two more times, the police video shows, while his daughter, identified in the lawsuit as A.G.C., pleaded, “I don’t want you to hurt my daddy!”

Federal Agent Targets Black Man on His Own Porch Over Cigarette That ‘Smelled Like the Odor of Marijuana’ in First Hours of Trump’s D.C. Takeover

A Sonoma County sheriff’s sergeant arrived on the scene as Whitehall was ordering Callaghan to put his hands behind his back, pulling on his left arm while pushing his face into the asphalt. The sheriff’s sergeant knelt on Callaghan’s shoulder and forced his right arm behind his back, breaking his arm, the complaint says.

“Stop resisting!” ordered Whitehall.

“I’m not resisting,” Callaghan can be heard saying. “Please … please … Please, Lord God. I’m sorry,” he said.

At this point Sebastopol Police officers Capt. James Hickey and Sgt. Cameron Fenske arrived, along with medical units from a local fire department. One grabbed his broken arm as they helped to lift up Callaghan, who screamed out in pain, and then the officers put him in the back of a patrol car, four taser barbs still attached to his body.

As the officers looked on, the fire department medics discerned that Callaghan was hypoglycemic and gave him glucose tablets to bring up his blood sugar, causing him to regain coherence, the lawsuit says.

When the officers began asking him questions, Callaghan confirmed that he was diabetic, had passed out due to low blood sugar, and said had not seen Whitehall’s flashing lights or purposely evaded or resisted his commands.

“I feel better now that she gave me some sugar,” he said. “My brain is working. But when you first put me in the car, I didn’t know what — I had no clue what was going on. The most important thing to me is my daughter. She’s OK? That’s my baby,” he said.

In the meantime, Fenske, Whitehall’s superior, had reached A.G.C.’s mother, Susana Visathep, on the phone. She confirmed that Callaghan, her ex, was diabetic, sometimes had such medical emergencies, and that she had a custody arrangement with him permitting him access to their daughter on weekends. She reportedly told Fenske, “I had allowed him to have her today,” which was a Wednesday.

After conferring amongst themselves about whether or not to charge Callaghan with DUI, Fenske and Whitehall, accepting that he was diabetic, “began to brainstorm other charges they might arrest him for,” the lawsuit says.

“Work the DUI, the child endangerment, and the pursuit, all that aspect,” Fenske directed Whitehall.

Callaghan was then taken to a hospital, while his daughter was sent to another, distressing them both, the lawsuit says.

At the hospital, Callaghan passed a breathalyzer test, registering .000 percent alcohol content, and also submitted to a blood draw that later proved negative. Finally released from the handcuffs after five hours, his arm was x-rayed and put in a cast and sling.

A nurse asked the officer, “Why are you doing this? He’s a type 1 diabetic,” the lawsuit says.

Fenske then advised Whitehall to book Callaghan at the county jail on charges of felony vehicular evading, felony child endangerment and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

Fenske also submitted a suspected child abuse report to the Child Protective Services, listing Callaghan as the abuser.

Callaghan’s bail was set high and “it took all of his savings to get home to see his daughter,” the complaint says.

Six months later, on February 10, 2025, the Sonoma County District Attorney rejected the charges against Callaghan.

The lawsuit argues that Whitehall used excessive force against Callaghan, who was not resisting when he was tased in violation of federal law. It accuses Whitehall, Fenske and Hickey of false arrest and unlawful detention, arguing that they detained him “long after any reasonable suspicion that he had committed a crime had evaporated.”

Ignoring their training for the treatment of individuals experiencing diabetic emergencies, which all California law enforcement officers receive, the lawsuit contends that the three officers negligently and unreasonably used force that caused Callaghan serious harm, and then conspired to violate his civil rights while pursuing a criminal conviction that would insulate them from civil liability.

“It was not enough to have brutalized an innocent man in front of his six-year-old daughter. They did everything in their power to have him jailed, humiliated and separated from his child, the most important person in his life, all so they could avoid getting sued,” the lawsuit claims.

Callaghan and Visathep, as guardian of their daughter, are seeking a jury trial to determine compensatory, economic, and punitive damages against the city of Sebastopol, Whitehall, Fenske, Hickey, and 25 other as yet-unnamed officers involved in his arrest and detention.

“I try not to think about it every day,” Callaghan told The Press Democrat of the traffic stop. “It was one bad thing after another, like a nightmare. … They could have killed me in front of my daughter.”

Sebastopol Interim City Manager Mary Gourley said in an emailed statement:

“While the City generally does not issue public statements about pending litigation, it looks forward to defending its officers in court and responding to all allegations through the legal process.”

The defendants have 21 days after being served with the lawsuit, or until Aug. 26, to file a response.

‘Betrayed by the Two People She Trusted’: Kelly Clarkson Faced Former Assistant’s Affair with Ex-Husband in Private, Until His Obituary Told Everyone

Fri, 08/15/2025 - 15:28

Days after the passing of the father of her children, Kelly Clarkson finds herself grappling with revelations that paint a devastating picture of betrayal and disrespect.

As the “Broken & Beautiful” singer processes her grief while supporting her two young children, shocking details emerging from Brandon Blackstock’s obituary have exposed a web of personal and professional betrayal that showcases Clarkson’s remarkable grace under unimaginable circumstances.

‘I Ain’t That Happy’: Steve Harvey Won’t Watch Kelly Clarkson After She Replaces His Show

The bombshell dropped through Blackstock’s obituary, published after he succumbed to cancer on Aug. 7, following a three-year melanoma battle. Rather than honoring the mother of two of his children, the tribute celebrated his romantic relationship with Brittney Marie Jones, Clarkson’s former assistant who had intimate access to the singer’s professional and personal life from 2016 to 2020, according to her LinkedIn profile.

The obituary described Blackstock and Jones as “beautiful and loving partners in life and business” who had been “building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana.”

Page Six readers on Instagram immediately rallied around Clarkson.

“Kelly really took the high road on this one,” one user commented, acknowledging the singer’s dignity throughout the ordeal.

Another expressed raw sympathy: “Poor Kelly. That’s messed up.”

The sense of betrayal resonated deeply with fans, with one noting, “Clarkson was betrayed by the two people she trusted. Got it.”

The pain prompted another to quip, “Alexa play since you’ve been gone by Kelly Clarkson,” while a fifth observer saw poetic justice: “Stole her money, then got with her assistant… I don’t usually believe in karma, but….”

The financial wounds run as deep as the emotional ones.

During their contentious divorce proceedings from 2020 to 2022, US Weekly reported, Blackstock fought aggressively for substantial spousal support and refused to vacate Clarkson’s Montana ranch until ordered by a court in June 2022.

The brutal legal battle included disputes over custody of their children, daughter River, 11, and son Remington, 9, plus property rights. After being forced to leave, Blackstock purchased his own $1.8 million ranch in Butte, Montana, where he established his rodeo business with Jones as his executive assistant and romantic partner.

Jones had unprecedented access to Clarkson’s life during her four-year tenure as the singer’s aide.

Starting as a production assistant in December 2016, she oversaw touring activities, managed travel details for TV and radio appearances, handled dressing room setup, and organized meet-and-greets. By December 2018, she was promoted to executive management assistant for Starstruck Entertainment, working closely with both Clarkson and Blackstock until her departure in June 2020 — the exact year Clarkson filed for divorce.

What makes this betrayal particularly stinging is how Clarkson continued showing extraordinary grace even as her world crumbled.

Despite the duplicity, an alleged source told the Daily Mail, Clarkson “doesn’t blame” her former assistant and actively discourages backlash from her fan base. The insider said this revelation served as “the icing on the cake of the disappointment Clarkson felt over the delusion of their marriage,” noting that while Blackstock “was a great father, but wasn’t a great husband.”

Even more remarkable is how Clarkson handled Blackstock’s illness with saint-like compassion.

When his cancer battle intensified earlier this year, she took a hiatus from her talk show in February and March, then canceled multiple Las Vegas residency shows — at significant financial cost — to ensure their children’s stability.

“When she found out that he was sick, she remained protective of him for their sake,” a person claiming to be close to the family told People magazine. “Kelly has always tried to keep things classy. It became clear earlier this year that Brandon was not doing well. She’s been devastated for the kids.”

The depth of Jones and Blackstock’s relationship became clear through her father’s (now private) Facebook tribute, where he called Blackstock his daughter’s “soulmate” and expressed how much they would miss his “funny humor.”

He wrote, “Yesterday we lost a good man Brandon Blackstock my daughter’s soulmate and I considered him my son.”

Adding, “My sincere condolences to Brittney Jones and family. We’re sure going to miss your funny humor. R.I.P hoss!”

Jones had previously been married to drummer Greg Goose LaPoint, with Instagram posts from September 2021 showing them celebrating their first wedding anniversary, but they separated as her relationship with Blackstock developed.

Adding insult to injury, the obituary completely omitted any mention of Clarkson despite her being the mother of two of Blackstock’s four children, though it referenced River and Remington alongside his older children from his first marriage.

This final slight came as Clarkson was publicly grieving, having just days earlier broken down in tears during a performance of “Piece by Piece” at her Las Vegas residency.

@modestishottest4u I love how raw and real she is. What  a phenomenal performance she put on for us. #kellyclarkson #lasvegas #cesarspalace #piecebypiece #studiosessions #kellyclarksonlasvegas ♬ original sound – Elizabeth Martin3282

While Clarkson cited only “irreconcilable differences” in her divorce filing, the reality represented “a point of no return” for her.

Yet even now, as these painful details emerge, her focus remains on protecting her children and maintaining the dignity that has defined her response to years of personal challenges, proving why fans continue rallying around the woman who has shown that true strength lies in grace under fire.

‘My Brother is a N—–‘: White Woman Who Yelled Racial Slurs at Black Family at Minnesota Park Says She’s Entitled to Say It In Viral Video

Fri, 08/15/2025 - 15:00

On a recent summer day, Reggie Lenear took his four kids to a local park in Minnesota, but an incident occurred that left them shaken and upset. A white mom allegedly hurled racial slurs at Lenear and his family, leading to a tense confrontation that the father caught on video.

The incident occurred on the playground of Lion’s Park in Coons Rapids and is sparking outrage on social media, with many drawing comparisons to Shiloh Hendrix, a white mother from Minnesota who made national news for spewing racist vitriol at a Black child in a park in May. “What’s going on, Minnesota?! Specifically, the playgrounds,” asked a concerned person in the comments section of TikTok. “This is so exhausting,” said another.

In the video, Lenear can be heard confronting the unidentified mother, who is pushing a stroller and appears to be leaving the park with her young daughters, after she “went out of her way” to call his family the “N-word.”

“She likes to say the N-word at the park,” Lenear stated as he walked alongside her and filmed her leaving.

Upon realizing she’s being filmed, she turned around and exclaimed, “I said I have a brother who is a [n-word],” apparently in a misguided attempt to justify her behavior.

“Oh, look, she keeps saying it,” Lenear responded.

As the mother loaded the children into her minivan in the parking lot, Linear approached again to film her license plate, but he was quickly pushed back by the woman, who got into his face with her baby on her hip. “This is my personal property,” she yelled, indicating he should stop filming. “Walk away! We’re all the same. We’re human.”

Many TikTok users felt she was using her baby as a shield. “She’s carrying that baby because she thinks that will save her,” one observed. “Not her running up holding her baby,” said another.

“Don’t believe the part about the brother This is a tactic, they do this when called out for using racial slurs They claim to have a ‘fill in the blank’ father, brother, mother The point is to mk it seem like they have the right to say it or they are the same – baby ain’t nobody using that Hard R but a ra€ist!!!,” one Instagram user wrote.

“The last yt lady who did this, yt people made a millionaire,” one noted, referring to the fundraising page set up by Shiloh Hendrix after her disturbing video went viral. The page, titled “Help Me Protect My Family,” has been flooded with white supremacists, anti-Semites, and all manner of racists who have been rallying around her, helping to raise $800,000 so far. As of August 13, 2025, no disorderly conduct or hate speech charges have been filed against her.

For now, sympathizers are rallying around Lenear, and his video has quickly gained traction, with many commenters hoping internet sleuths will “do your thing” and identify the woman.

“This is not acceptable,” the father wrote in the caption. “No one should ever be comfortable to say those things. On top of that, she’s with her kids, showing them that it’s OK [and] allowing them to do the same.”

Graphic Videos Shows T-Hood Savagely Beating ‘RHOA’ Kirk and Rasheeda’s Daughter as Their Son Is Investigated for Killing the Rapper in Self-Defense

Fri, 08/15/2025 - 14:35

A devastating family tragedy has shattered the world of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” stars Kirk and Rasheeda Frost after the boyfriend of Kirk’s daughter was shot and killed last week.

Local police are investigating the couple’s oldest son, Ky Frost, for allegedly shooting his sister’s boyfriend, Atlanta rapper Tevin “T-Hood” Hood.

The case has taken a shocking turn with the emergence of disturbing video footage that appears to show T-Hood physically abusing Kelsie Frost, providing crucial context to the fatal incident that occurred on Aug. 9 in the Atlanta suburb of Snellville, Georgia.

Gwinnett County Police responded to reports of a domestic dispute at T-Hood’s home on Lee Road around 7 p.m. Officers arrived to find the 33-year-old rapper suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite receiving immediate medical attention and being rushed to a local hospital, T-Hood succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a devastated family and a budding music career that included hits like “Perculator” and “Ready 2 Go.”

Several online blogs circulated grainy video footage that allegedly shows the rapper entering a room where a woman believed to be Kelsie lies on a bed, before grabbing and pushing her down, covering her with his body, and then violently tossing her to the other side.

The footage appears to show T-Hood striking Kelsie before walking toward the door, removing his jacket, and returning to grab her hair and yank her to the floor.

Within an hour of the Gossip of the City’s video publication, T-Hood’s family members contacted the outlet to defend the deceased rapper.

The outlet posted an update stating, “His family immediately came to my dm’s saying she would hit him too, I told them to send. I will be fair to both sides like I did for his family originally. Until then this is what we have now.”

However, an hour later, the page released additional damaging evidence, including still photographs showing Kelsie with red and purple bruises covering her face, alongside a second, clearer video of mistreatment.

The second video footage shows what appears to be T-Hood leaping on Kelsie violently while she’s on the bed, with the altercation continuing as she falls off before the clip abruptly ends.

These disturbing images painted a harrowing picture that allegedly preceded the fatal shooting, with 24-year-old Ky Lasheed Frost identified as the primary subject and who remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators.

T-Hood’s family members have made serious accusations against the Frost family, with the rapper’s mother, Yulanda Bandy, and his sisters alleging that Kelsie orchestrated the fatal encounter by calling her brothers following another final alleged domestic incident.

However, Kelsie has vehemently denied these allegations through emotional social media posts, revealing someone caught between devastating loss and defending herself against conspiracy theories and death threats.

“I can’t sit back and let the narrative being created go on. The love of my life is GONE,” Kelsie wrote in posts captured by The Shade Room after initial reports about T-Hood’s passing.

“I don’t even have time to grieve or say my respects in the right manner because I am defending myself, being attacked by people who are creating weird and sick rumors,” she added.

Kelsie firmly denied calling for help, stating, “I didn’t call for anyone to come help me! I didn’t ask for this. I would NEVER! My baby was still HEALING from being shot 3x!”

The 30-year-old emphasized her position as the only daughter in her family, explaining that she knew any dispute would be resolved privately between the couple.

“For one, I’m the only girl, and I know we would be right back together that same night. I don’t involve my folks in our business. I didn’t call a brother, I didn’t call anyone but HIS mother,” she declared.

The new videos and images have sparked intense discourse about the case, with Gossip in the City followers offering their reactions.

“Dang, she should’ve called the police instead of her brothers! SMH,” one commenter wrote, while another declared, “This would be hard for me to watch as a parent.”

Another said, “Omg this something I couldn’t imagine living through this is so hard to watch I can’t imagine what we didn’t see!”

Others watched the footage and identified with Kelsie’s survival tactics, commenting, “Know damn well that full head cover was a victim technique’ pretend to be asleep for pity to get through the night w/out a beating! Free her brother.”

The tragic incident exposes the complex dynamics of domestic matter and family loyalty, leaving two families shattered while investigators work to determine whether Ky Frost’s actions constitute justifiable homicide in defense of his sister.

‘Deflect & Divert’: Trump Pulls Melania Into Scandal as She Targets Hunter Biden, But His Savage Comeback Turns the Tables

Fri, 08/15/2025 - 13:32

Hunter Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden, had strong words for first lady Melania Trump and her threats to sue him for $1 billion over comments he made about the Trumps and convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Mrs. Trump is demanding an apology, and she wants the YouTube series “Channel 5” to take down the video that aired on Aug. 5 in which Biden speculated that Epstein introduced the Trumps during the 1990s at the height of Epstein’s child sex trafficking ring.

For his part, Biden, who was pardoned by his father after pleading guilty to tax evasion and was convicted on weapons charges, rejected an apology. “F*ck that. It’s not gonna happen.”

In an Aug. 14 Instagram post, Biden appeared in a new “Channel 5” video with host Andrew Callaghan.

It’s lawsuit time,” Callaghan said.

A post shared by PMW TV (@pmwtv)

“In my hand is a legal letter addressed to Mr. Hunter Biden from the first lady of the United States demanding a retraction of Channel 5’s video called ‘Hunter Biden Returns’ in which Mr. Biden here makes some speculative comments about the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein, Melania Trump and Donald Trump,” Callaghan intoned as he introduced the new episode with Hunter Biden.

Fox News also posted a copy of a letter to Biden and his lawyer asking Biden to “retract the false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements made about Mrs. Trump” during the “Channel 5” interview last week.

“First Lady Melania Trump’s attorneys are actively ensuring immediate retractions and apologies by those who spread malicious, defamatory falsehoods. The true account of how the First Lady met President Trump is in her best-selling book, ‘Melania,’” her spokesman Nick Clemens said in a statement, according to reporting by CNN.

President Donald Trump said Thursday morning that he pushed Melania to “go forward” with the legal action.

“You know, I’ve done pretty well on these lawsuits lately. And I said, go forward. Jeffrey Epstein has nothing to do with Melania and I introducing. But they do that. They make up stories,” he told Brian Kilmeade on Fox News radio.

The comments in question started with Biden referring to the relationship between the Trumps and the disgraced financier in the earlier interview.

“OK, they knew each other well. They spent an enormous amount of time together. According to his biographer is that Jeffrey Epstein introduced Melania. That’s how Melania and — the first lady — and Trump met,” Biden said in the previous Channel 5 last week.

“Really? Epstein made the intro?” Callaghan asked.

“Yeah, according to Michael Wolff. And, so, I only can go by what people are saying, and I don’t know,” Biden continued.

“You didn’t make these claims out of nowhere,” Callaghan remarked. “They come from another journalist, Michael Wolff, who is a biographer who actually spoke to Jeffrey Epstein.”

Epstein tapped Wolff, a best-selling author, to write his biography. Wolff says he has over 100 hours of tape with the convicted trafficker, who authorities said died by suicide in his Manhattan prison cell in 2019.

The latest “Channel 5” interview with Hunter Biden, published on Aug. 14, suggests a lawsuit over his Epstein comments could end in a deposition with the Trumps being required to clarify their relationship with the sex trafficker.

“I have this to say to them: If they want to sit down for a deposition and clarify the nature of the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein — if the president and the first lady want to do that and all the known associates around them at the time, whatever time that they met, I’m more than happy to provide them the platform to be able to do it,” Biden told Callaghan

“Fact of the matter is that, you know, I don’t think that these threats of a lawsuit add up to anything other than a designed distraction, because it’s not about who introduced whom to whom. I don’t know how that in any way rises to the level of defamation to begin with,” he added.

Trump said Thursday that Epstein “had nothing” to due with him and Melania becoming a couple.

I mean, I can tell you exactly how it wasn’t—, it was another person, actually. I did meet through another person. But it wasn’t Jeffrey Epstein,” the president said. “Yeah, I told her, let’s go ahead and do it. I let her use my lawyers.”

‘What Is That Child Being Taught’: Viewers Call for Removing Jillian Michaels’ Black Adopted Daughter After Her Remarks About Slavery on CNN

Fri, 08/15/2025 - 12:41

A conversation on the arts devolved into a messy argument about slavery and who benefited from it during a zany Aug. 13 roundtable discussion on “CNN NewsNight” with one panelist accusing host Abby Phillip of “racializing” the discussion.

Roundtable guests were talking about President Donald Trump’s latest efforts at controlling the distinguished Kennedy Center awards after Trump announced his apparent handpicked group of honorees on Wednesday, including actor Sylvester Stallone, country star George Strait, singer Gloria Gaynor, and the band Kiss.

A Democratic strategist on the panel said Trump’s efforts at remaking the Kennedy Center in his image were part of a larger plan to “change culture.” Trump has already initiated reviews of Smithsonian Institution exhibits, something he did shortly after the start of his second term in office earlier this year.

“Have you looked at some of the things that are being reviewed?” MAGA supporter, fitness trainer, and “The Biggest Loser” TV series alum Jillian Michaels asked, bristling when panelist Julie Roginsky brought up that Trump had demanded a study on how the Smithsonian tells the story of slavery in America.

Michaels defended white people, suggesting they were not wholly to blame for slavery and lashing out at Phillip by claiming she “racialized” the argument.

Michaels: You cannot tie imperialism and racism and slavery to just one race, which is pretty much what every single exhibit does… Only less than 2% of white Americans own slaves. You realize that slavery is thousands of years old?

Phillip: I’m very surprised you are trying to… pic.twitter.com/KOe9rSAcTV

— Acyn (@Acyn) August 14, 2025

“Yes, slavery was a bad thing that we should talk about,” Roginsky pointed out.

Jeanine Pirro Ripped for ‘Unhinged’ Responses At Pressers as Viewers Question If She’s Drunk

“He (Trump) is not whitewashing slavery,” Michaels insisted, as Roginsky disagreed.

“He’s not,” Michaels claimed. “And you cannot tie imperialism and racism and slavery to just one race, which is pretty much what every single exhibit does.”

Another panelist pointed out, “… slavery in America was white supremacy.”

“Do you know that only less than 2 percent of white Americans owned slaves?” Michaels shot back.

New York Congressman Ritchie Torres tried to counter Michaels’ remarks, “But it was a system of white supremacy. You know, African Americans were slaves and white people were …” but he was cut off as the panel erupted and talked over each other.

Phillip interjected at that point, “Jillian, I’m surprised that you’re trying to litigate who was the beneficiary of slavery and who was not.”

Phillip: We don't have time to litigate all of this.

Michaels: Of course we don't. Because then you're going to lose the argument. And everything is racialized, just like you're trying to do to me now.

Phillip: Excuse me? You brought up the question of whether or not slavery… pic.twitter.com/yYapbmkbKD

— Acyn (@Acyn) August 14, 2025

Michaels denied it and tried to explain herself, “I’m not, what I’m trying to tell you is that …” but Phillip interrupted, trying to steer the conversation back on track.

“I mean, in the context of American history,” Phillip began. “In the context of American history, what are you saying is incorrect by saying that it was white people oppressing Black people?”

“Every single thing is like, oh, no, no, no, this is all because white people bad. And that’s just not the truth,” Michaels insisted. “Like for example, every single exhibit, I have a list of every single one, like people migrated from Cuba because white people bad. Not because of past — yes. No, it’s in there. That’s what I’m saying. You don’t actually know what’s in there.”

Michaels is referring there to an exhibit that she says blames white people for the communist takeover of Cuba.

“People migrated from Cuba because white people bad, not because of Castro. Yes. No, it’s in there,” she continued.

Michaels then pivoted to criticizing another Smithsonian exhibit on the difficulty of gender testing in sports.

A shocked Phillip cut her off to explain, “We don’t have time to litigate all of this,” referring to the broad range of issues Michaels was mentioning.

That seemed to set the fitness guru off once again.

“Of course we don’t,” Michaels declared. “Because then you’re going to lose the argument. And everything is racialized, just like you’re trying to do to me now.”

“Excuse me?” a stunned Phillip asked. “Just to be clear. You brought up race. This was a conversation about the arts. And you brought up race.”

“You brought up the question of whether or not slavery in the United States is about race.” Phillip continued. “The answer is yes.”

“Don’t strawman my argument,” Michaels demanded.

“So, what are you talking about?” Phillip asked.

“Shame on white slavery, and what I was talking about is that this isn’t really about that. When you make every single exhibit about white imperialism, when it isn’t relevant at all, that is a problem. So, when you’re talking about Cubans leaving Cuba and you make it about white people bad, that’s not accurate. That’s my point,” Michaels tried to explain.

Phillip had had enough, announcing, “We’re going to move on.”

Michaels took to social media after her CNN appearance, still trying to explain herself.

“Less than 2% of white Americans ever owned slaves. And believe it or not, America is more than just ‘the South,’” Michaels continued on X. But we’ll let you decide if you want to read more about her crazy take on American slavery.

Less than 2% of white Americans ever owned slaves. And believe it or not, America is more than just “the South.” There’s the Midwest, the Northwest, the Northeast… pull up a map — $8 on Amazon — and you’ll see it. Many white Americans even died fighting to end slavery. Do they…

Michaels’ statements drew backlash online, with many on Threads expressing concern about her 15-year-old daughter, whom the fitness trainer and her wife adopted from Haiti.

“This woman has an adopted black Haitian daughter. Someone needs to step in here,” one user wrote. “CPS is that someone,” another user replied.

“The first thing I thought about. What is that child being taught?” one person wrote.
